    I just finished my class and started my practicum. This was super helpful. I learned so much and now I’m trying to put it all together

    Fascinating how many rules there are in the English language most of us take for granted. Watching this as I am homeschooling my dyslexic son. Thanks for the video!

    I love that you make underlines in your notebook for her to write on. My students' notebooks tend to be a little messy. Using a marker or pen to give them a line to write on would likely be very helpful for some of them. :)

      Absolutely. Particularly for children who have visual-spatial issues.

    This lesson is great! I am hoping to become an OG tutor. What is the SNL rule with regard to sion instead of lion? Thanks!

    What does Saturday Night Live mean?

    • @Niemanville
      @Niemanville Рік тому

      Saturday night live is an acronym for the letters that come before sion. If it does not have an s n or l before it, you should use tion.

    I love the pace you have for your lessons and your encouraging words to your student.
    Where do you buy your spiral notebooks?

    • @jr664
      @jr664 7 років тому

      They are difficult to find for older children with spiral binding. Any thoughts on where to find them?

    This is a great Orton lesson. Could you let me know which section of the lesson was the new material? Thank you.

      Good question Maureen Spitz. She has been working on the four ways to spell long i. That was the new part of her lesson for that day. I know that it was not as clearly defined as usual.

    I am not sure if you are still checking this, but I just started an orton gillingham (all about reading and spelling) with my most likely dyslexic 7 year old, and your video helped me to understand and structure the curriculum so that we have a pattern and routine to our lesson. If you were working with a child everyday, (I am assuming you are not, but I might be wrong) is there anything you would do differently?

    Where are you getting the words for her review deck that she reads? Thanks :)

    • @niemanville9796
      @niemanville9796  7 років тому +1

      Every time I teach a new rule, I create a few cards for the review deck. I look through my deck of cards I use to teach and use a few of those words for each new concept. You can view my card boxes at niemanville.com under materials.
