I've just started watching from the US via Netflix. I love this show and its characters and I want to visit St. John's.

I'm from the prairies and Newfoundland is like a second home to me. I've been twice, and I can't wait to go back this summer.
After watching this video, all I can say is that Newfoundland is amazing, and St. John's is beautiful!
    LONG LIVE REPUBLIC OF DOYLE!

Too typical for me, I didn't discover this show until very recently. My wife and I love it and look forward watching it every night on NETFLIX. It's the kind of show where one wishes they could go to the neighborhood and hang out with the characters. What a great experience to watch-I can only imagine how much fun it was to make!

The show's license expired on Netflix but you can still watch it on Tubi, thank goodness because I still haven't watched the series finale!

Do all the people in St. John's have such gorgeous dimples? I watch the show for the great stories and awesome humor, but I'm also there for all the hotties.

@boywunder343 its not ur typical american show.. First its Canadian! And its based in Newfoundland but indian and other ethnicities are not common in the area. hence not main in this show. Race is equal everywhere who needs to stereo type.. Not cool Were all equal and this show is great entertainment.!

@mosteasterly ... I watch it and i'm from northern california.... what won me over was listening to those greats accents and the three generations under one house, i think its fabulous and I totally understand it and if I don't understand something I google it. But no worries I get where u are coming from, do you mean that the chinese and east indian populaton are both less than 1 percent? wow, if thats true thats really not diverse... just an observation not meant to be taken as a criticism

@boywunder343 The show is not American, not broadcast in America, and, with all due respect, wouldn't really be understood by Americans. It's set in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada, Chinese population 0.22%, East Indian population 0.19%. I think the show reflects Newfoundland's ethnicity pretty accurately.

@boywunder343 i understand your comment, but this is first a canadian series, also why not use a disabled actor for gary senise's role in forrest gump then again neil patrick harris plays barney a straight chrachter, it used to be believed if people learned who you were away from the camera you would not be believed in the chrachter your portraying but talent wins out eventually and in the end the audience will say nay yea.

i don't really like the show. it's filmed in one of the most culture-rich places in canada - newfoundland, but it's just like any other regular show you'd see made in america. its such a waste and gives newfoundlanders a bad name. we're not pretty-boy preppy white boys who are trying to be cool and involved in criminal activity. there is so much culture in newfoundland, and this show is just so generic. i wish there was a show about the struggles being a newfoundlander and minority
