      I saw an interview of her, and she said that she initially thought they were just some teenage thugs giving two small kids a hard time. Halfway there however she noticed they were trying to rob the place, but by then she thought it was to late to quit 😄

    real heroes don’t need fame they just go on with their lives if i was in a situation to help someone i would but i don’t want or need any fame or recognition i do help people all the time from opening doors for people to returning lost items just last week me and my mom helped return a lost kid to their mother in a very busy and chaotic grocery store it was super busy and i watched many people just ignore the kid and pass by not even caring at all my mom is a teacher so she knows how to handle young kids and that probably helped as well but i think the girl didn’t understand much english but we still managed to guide her to a less congested spot to wait for their mother to find them and this is the first time i have told this to anyone outside of my household

    With all the bad stuff police and officers have to deal with, I'm happy good people are willing to help them when needed. also makes me a little happy that my husband is a trucker, not a cop. I don't know how I would have handled it if he was.

      @@shep9231 thats is true as he does his best for the people around him especially women and children. but it gives me an unnessary amount of anxiety already as a trucker. i would basically be a constant nervous wreck if he decided to be a police officer, with the shit they have to put up with on a daily basis.

    It’s not surprising some people don’t want to be recognized. In tv shows and movies ppl get rewarded for heroism. Irl they get punished and harassed, sued, fired, possibly attacked.

    It is my belief that all officers should have some basic martial arts training. A simple knowledge of wrist locks, arm locks, and hip throws would greatly help in most of these situations.

      They do. Everywhere BUT in the USA.
      In most countries they also aren't allowed to perform their duuties alone - always at least two. Again - lone cops is USA's speciality.

      @@aleksanderlenartowicz5659 Agreed. I lived in Japan for a few years (about 30 years ago) and the distinction between USA cops and the cops in Japan became very clear very quickly. They did NOT play games. You did what they said or you got wrapped up instantly. And they didn't even carry guns. If you had a problem with the arrest you argue that in court, not to the cops.

    I will still say that woman agitated the older man in the car. She was rude, she made physical contact first and she pushed him. De-escalation goes a long way.

    Just remember, cops are people too. You can be shot by police because of mistaken identity, misfire, or crossfire. Plus you don’t know who they are chasing; that person could have a gun or knife hidden. A really appreciative “thank you” isn’t worth it.

      It really depends on the jurisdiction. In many places, there is a shortage of either applicants or budget to pay for additional officers.
      In my (suburban) home town, which actually has a very well-funded department, they usually run one cop per vehicle unless it is a new officer with a field training officer. That said, even routine calls will often have a primary officer and at least one other unit "to follow." Normal traffic stops can turn dangerous in an instant, as demonstrated in many of the clips in this video.

    Being pulled over for speeding and then escalating to physical violence must be the most stupid thing that driver could have done. Ffs, you would have only had to pay a fine - and you could even contest that in court if you were really unhappy with it and thought it was not right.

    Unfortunately there are just as many if not more situations where the civilian involves themself and makes the situation drastically worse.
    Policing should be left to the court. Make sure you understand what your getting into before you do it. Trying to be the hero can easily get people unnecessary hurt or killed if you can't read the situation.
