- Raila Odinga has filed a petition to the Supreme Court of Kenya, contesting the presidential results announced by the electoral commission, IEBC last week.
The electoral commission said Mr Ruto won with 50.49 per cent of the votes cast against Mr Odinga's 48.85 per cent. Mr Odinga’s lead counsel, Paul Mwangi, says they are confident they have a solid case and can prove that there was election fraud.
He spoke to the BBC’s Mercy Juma that a series of malpractices 'hijacked' the communication of the vote results and denounced what he described as 'the most audacious attack' on Kenya's democratic institutions.

One thing that always surprises me is how some of us easily stay loyal even in the face of injustice. Justice only applies when it is beneficial to some people. As history has shown, those who actually fight for the rights of Kenyans always end up losing in the long run. Sadly, it doesn’t pay to do the right thing in Kenya. Those who exercise the full force of their influence, power and money always end up benefiting. We easily forget that the common citizen will always suffer in the long run. You will fight, insult and curse your neighbor yet the person you are doing all that in the name of will still be rich and will move on as if nothing happened. We simply never learn.
Justice and Transparecy should always prevail, I dont understand how Kenya managed the elections in 2002 without issues and than increasing the issues every following elections. No matter who won, but especially the young people loosing hope...and thats the saddest part!
The collapsed Project raila was very expensive for kenyans. The entire government machinery was mobilised to rally behind this project but like other uhuru projects came down tumbling down.

It was raised and chebukati came out clearly and stated that they are not going to use the extra booklet which was printed only to use it later. It appears that there was a lot of dishonesty during the entire process.

Every election that needs more than 3 days of counting, gets suspicious especially when the results where no longer shown on thursday!
But how is it possible to announce a result without all 7 officers agreeing on the outcome. In every polling Station u (should) find agents of all parties, how can anybody dispute the results if all stations also forward the results to the candidates.
Please Kenyans, lets not go back to 2007/8, I will never forget how my heart broke and I saw a lot of the violence in Nairobi and was happened between Nairobi and Western Kenya, keep the peace and argue it out on the court.
The IEBC had no controll on the media in as much as the displaying of the results on TV screens was concerned. The media had already compromised it's impartiality in that the media owners had a candidate who had already lost the election. By the thursday you're alluding to here, every presidential candidate knew the results. What was left was for the IEBC to just verify the same results using form 34C. The red carpet and miniature flags had to be removed when reality down that the seat was gone and gone with the wind.
