AFOX should be avoided at all costs. Not too long ago they were selling "brand new" RX 580 cards that were in fact using salvaged RX 570D dies from used miner cards, resulting in lower performance and life expectancy. The company tried to rectify the issue with TecLab, the UA-cam channel that found out about the scam, and not only did they lie about their card being a "fluke" but continued selling their RX 580 line up using the same deceptive tactics. By purchasing another card by them, even if it meets the expectations, you are supporting the idea that they can get away with more scams with their products.

Literally every GPU manufacturer has been in hot water over one issue or another. If we all took every single one of them at face value, we'd have literally nothing to buy. I personally don't care what they did. If my GPU is fine - it's fine. If it's not - i'll return it. I mean i'm not saying it's not bad, i'm just saying that I personally don't care lol

Back in 2020 I got my first gaming PC, or what was advertised as a Gaming PC. I quickly found out that without a GPU it wasn't much of a gaming machine at all. I went out and managed to get a GPU for £90, it was an Afox Nvidia GeForce 750ti 2gb, and back then it was awesome. You could add Resident Evil 2, 3 and 7 to your tests since the new versions with ray-tracing are out, they never mentioned it but it also adds FSR to all those games as well so even though they require DX12 they'll run even better on lower-end hardware now.

very few games do it right, most just blur the entire screen in the direction of movement (well opposite) but some games like Doom Eternal have proper per object motion blur (meaning each object get it's own blur depending on the movement relative to the camera) if it's done well it looks cool and can actually give the player more information. but yeah as a general rule it's best to just turn it off

That cooler design with the machined aluminum block is a very cheap way of making a heatsink and it's nice to see some manufacturer using those on these entry-low end gpu's because practically speaking a 6500xt doesn't pull any power. It's a waste of money to get a 6500xt with those big heatsinks with fine fins and a ton of heatpipes and all that mass. If the afox model is like 10-15 dollars cheaper, it is a better deal than the fancy cooler cards.

AFOX build when? Looks like they make enough things to put together a full system. I am intrigued. I know doing a full build isn't really your deal though. Anyway, thanks for the video!

Had an AFOX GTX 750Ti for a year when the mining craze was up high. Honestly it served its purpose and more. Lasted like 3 years before giving artifacts and crashes. AFOX in my book is just that one company who focuses on budget cards and honestly, I wouldn't mind if they use any shady techniques to lower their costs, just as long as they always provide warranty, which they do.

if you're getting a 6500xt it needs to be the absolute cheapest one available. paying more for a pretty cooler at that performance level is INSANE. and thats why cards like this are great.

Just bought a 6500XT. Very happy with it. Only thing it lacks is 8gb ram. But for 189usd it's less than half of what a 3050 goes for around here (449usd) and works decent. I am just waiting for prices to go down even further, so the 6500 was a good enough card to use for the next few months until i upgrade to something better.
    (Wanted a 6700XT, but not with that pricing, or a 3060 12GB)

AFOX is more popular in Developing Markets. If you live in a Third World country, consider the cards, depending on the reliability and after-sales support of the reseller. They aren't bad cards, just the most reference and barebones of products.

I probably wouldn't suggest the 6500 but the card does look nice and it does 1080p gaming well. The price points are just so weird right now that you can get a way better card for the same price or just a little more. Also that fan shroud looks very simple and user friendly to take off. 2 screws on either side. Better than the nightmare that MSI branded cards tend to be. I've had to cut fan wires because the shroud on Armor cards are design flawed. Either have to cut the wires or break the shroud. Fans were broken anyway but still. That's a big plus if AFOX cards are easy to disassemble.

I recently watched a zWormz Gaming video testing an RX 6600 XT from this brand and he said that it seemed like the card was running too warm for what it was. The card itself looked a little cheaply designed and had a plastic backplate. Maybe it was just an anomaly but I myself don't plan on getting any GPU from them when I upgrade in the future.

You could oc further using morepowa tool. You could bump the total tdp up past factory and even raise the clock caps. This is because amd sets all limits through the registry.

    • @HD7970

@@RandomGaminginHD just do research because when you add wattage to the registry you also have to add amps too. It adds up quick but you should be fine as long as you dont push it too far since you will probably be using a 8 pin connector. So id max the card out at around 200 to 220 watts. Rest is pretty much explainable with max clocks and everything which is what you will need to increase to push clocks further than the stock oc limits that are already in place. I personally havent played around with the clock limits since my 6900xt is on air. I plan to play around a little more as soon as a i custom loop but i think itd definitely be an interesting video to push the 6500xt to its limits with morepowa tool.

The 6500 is a legitimate good option for really low end nowadays, since the 3050 is still so high in price you might as well buy a 6600, which is cheaper.
If possible, I believe if AFOX, or any partner for that matter, could increase the Vram to 8gigs, or maybe even 6 instead of 4 it would be an extremely high value card.
