    I've been using big band tension to stretch and mobilize for about two years now and it's literally shocking how much better my body feels and how much it's improved my strength and mobility. I truly don't understand how people can train heavy and hard and NOT do this.

    damn this helped me a ton. my hips felt like they were cemented in place sometimes and this has opened up so much range for me. i feel like i'm just gliding around when I walk right now. incredible!

    That was amazing, seeing incredible results in just one 5 minute session! I need to try this tomorrow on squat day, my hip flexor/anterior part of my hip has been bothering me a ton lately with what feels like a big huge knot of fascia and scar tissue..

    This video was amazingly helpful to me personally. I have had a chronic pain in my left lower back, probably due to my weight and lifestyle choices. I have tried many PT modalities , including foamrolling, dynamic, and static stretching, but only the band work has given me the relief. perhaps I really did need to open up my joint capsule, whatever that means. I will have to see if doing this regularly cures me permanently. Thanks for the vid.

    I see his internal rotation is bad but he doesn't feel pain. I have strong pain when I try to rotate internally. I say "try" because I can't rotate internally at all. That is why my lower back rounds when I get into conventional deadlift position. On the other hand, my external rotation is unbelievable, I can put my foot behind my neck. By the way, my overall flexibility is great. I can do splits.
    Should I stretch or not? I ask because of pain.

    i noticed that you said that he is getting 150 lbs of pressure of distraction in the band....i just bought the black band from rogue fitness monster bands and is has resistance strenght of only a 100 lbs......will this be substanstial to correct my tight hips because of too have poor internal hip rotation.... on Mod Wod Frequently asked questions is recommends the blue or green bands which only have 50-75 lbs of resistance strength....will i be alright with the black band?

    I live in an apartment, just got the big green band... I have nothing heavy enough to wrap it around.. suggestions?

      Maybe in the summer. Winter time, the ground is covered in snow, and if not then, the ground is covered with thousands of rocks to prevent you from slipping on ice when you walk.

      _IrishDragon_ get a large towel, loop it through the band and pin it between a door and it's door frame. The towel acts as a stopper so the band has something to pull on. You can also try putting it underneath the door so that the towel shows on one side and the band on the other. I'd advise you try to find a sturdy door though and to be cautious with it.

      +vroomvroom333 I got it at a local heavy lifting gym. Unless you live near me in Finland, I can't be of much more help in locating them. I suggest checking with your local sports shops, they can special order it, alternatively, the Internet. best of luck.
      also I have resolved the issue I had with mounting it.
      I use a door frame exercise cord. it is two cord with handles that connect at a metal ring, that ring has a cord that goes over a door, has a weight on the end. close the door, attach the band to the handle, and there ya go.

      you're not getting 100/150lbs of tension if you're using a bench and 40lb weight to secure it

    Hey, wondering if anyone can help me out. I've been doing these drills and the test/retest shows great results. But if i rest or carry on with my other stretches for an hour or so and retest again, I'll find my range of motion has significantly decreased. Later that day ROM will be back to square one. Is there anything i can do to solidify my hip mobility gains?

    Why does this dude squat with his shins 100% vertical lol they should be around parallel to his back angle during a high bar squat. That's probably why his hips got so restricted in the first place. You need those knees to track forward just beyond the toes so as to distribute the load better throughout the body. Otherwise, the hips take way more force than they should have to take.
