World's Most Scenic Train Ride / Glacier Express In Switzerland

- All aboard the Glacier Express known as the most scenic train ride in the world. This panoramic train in Switzerland is a bucket list trip for many people and we were no different.
We originally booked a train ticket on the Glacier Express from Zermatt to St-Mortiz but sadly a portion of the track was closed the day of our journey meaning that we had to take a normal train then a bus to Täsh where we finally met with the Glacier Express train.
We were in second class where the seat configuration is a 2 by 2 facing each other with a table in the middle.
We paid extra to get a four course meal onboard. The meal was very good but felt like a home cooked lunch which was truly not worth the high price paid for. We highly suggest that you skip the meal and bring your own food which is allowed.
The service onboard the Glacier Express was sadly not to the level you would expect for such a premium experience. Many people around us had to order food items more than once after being forgotten, the coffee machine was broken and the train ran out of food for people who had not preordered.
With that being said, the ride itself was by far the most stunning we had ever scene. The small towns and mountains covered in snow were everything we had expected and more. Switzerland is the true winter wonderland and there is no better way to explore it then onboard the Glacier Express also known as the slowest express train in the world.

@@DaveMani how many hours for the trip? You said you bought a 3-days pass. Does it mean the trip going and back is for 3 days?
Looks like one of those bucket lists items one needs to just check off to get them off the list. If they had gotten the meals and service right especially for a country that famous it would have been great. It's funny food and service plays a big role in overall satisfaction.
Very true but because the train tide was SOOO good, the rest didn't matter as much. Hahaha

To be honest I hve never been to Switzerland in April so very hard to say. I'm sure you can Google it maybe. With that being said, I'm sure the journey is amazing even without the snow.

You are wrong when you say Swiss people will never be impressed by anything wherever they go in the world... Now I challenge you... Go to Kashmir...Gulmarg ...summers... from there visit Leh and Pangong lake ...Or Go to lush green Northeastern India such as Sikkim and Meghalaya.. you will get same enjoyment if not more... at 1/10th of the price
