Don't judge it by the video, the basket is huge but remember that magnet is a 10inch diameter quad stacked magnet and the coil will be a 3inch 8layer coil rated for 2,000watts (conservatively rated) so if you know what you are doing you can put more then 2,000watts on that coil.

It always looks that way when compared to a huge cone. It would look even smaller if it were Neo magnets, but don't let that fool you. Its all about the true RMS handling :) Just mount the motor inside the box, and it wont make any difference :)
Whats funny is subwoofers are not any louder with "more watts" or a "bigger magnet". T/S parameters dictate how the speaker will preform and its really a balancing act vs iron law. The goal is to make spl while still having adequate mechanical control. A bigger magnet will require more power but QMS will reach a point of diminishing returns and will not produce any more spl.
you still give away too much in the opening teaser before the intro! you should have cut it before you "unwrapped" it leaving suspense! otherwise we have already seen all the good shit before it's even started

That sub looks nuts, remind me of my cousin's setups when I was little. For my birthday's all I wanted was to sit in his jeep and listen to music. Had a massive woofer, might have been a Clarion 32 inch, I'd have to ask him. Unopened three liter bottles would launch off the roof. Have some video of it on a VCR tape somewhere, ought to dig it up. The songs playing in the video are by Freak Nasty if I recall right, ripping roofs apart back in '96, lol!
That Shit is Crazy almost getting out of had like Rim Sizes bigger don't always Mean Better but $1700 is out of My Price Range for One Sub. I can buy 3 Zv5 12's for that price almost. Love how Sundown is stuck on 2000rms lol. Finally getting My Zv4 12 I bought from JP like four Months ago installed in My Work Truck 1.0 build so should be banging by the weekend been a long expensive build I'll have over $4200 in this system and still need two XS Batteries and Mechman 240 alternator shit! I think Sundown should switch to the bolt style terminals rather than push terminals for their higher rms subs.

I love how Sundown under rates their products by a lot. 2,000 watts RMS seems like a joke for a woofer that huge. Hell, even the Earthquake HOLEES 15 inch subwoofer is rated at 7,500 watts RMS and it's only a 15-inch sub. I reckon this beast should be able to take a solid 5,000 watts RMS daily. Maybe more. Sundown needs to stop underrating their products. It's almost as if they do not have confidence in their product so they underrate them.
I noticed that kid speaking over the sub demo lol.. I think it's a new trick creators use.. Another channel uses car noise with honking. Maybe back that effect off a tad. Thing moves some air and has surprising response at like 200Hz or whatever it was.. Did he say $1700 for that?!!! Holy shit I guess I need a second job.

Should've started with at least the team motor... Got to represent Sundown and do it right. Better yet, a gigantic neo motor like the Ermagerd has or larger with the proper 5" coil. Sundown needs to step it up even further to a 6" coil and a gigantic motor... They definitely can afford it. $1,700 for a baby coil and 2k rms is straight booty! Deaf Bounce and B2 knows what they're doing!
Should do what DD does with their 9500 n 9900 series and Super charge it with that neo cap on the pole vent gives you more control n strength. And why not use a bigger motor??? That's a 24" Sub it needs a bigger coil n motor should make a custom 8" coil for them.

My sa-12 d2 with 1200rms is slowly shaking my truck apart. I cant imagine how hard this thing hits. Im never going back to any other brand subwoofer again
I just replaced my Rockford P3's with 2 SA-12D2's. I have a Rockford P1000x1BD. I have it wired at 1ohm and its pushing 1,500 watts and those Sundowns are fucking moving! My mirrors move like they've never moved before.
I'm gonna do some more work on them this weekend in regards to some fine tuning and hopefully get a video uploaded.
Eventually I'm gonna buy a Rockford T2000x1 for them, but for now, I'm very happy with the upgrade.
Not bad, not bad at all, didn't think Sundown would start making a Z v5 with a 24inch cone with that much throw.

It looks like the "stereo integrity" 24" subwoofer. I know I saw a video of a guy on UA-cam with 2 of these in a 4th order bandpass a few months ago.
I personally think that's gay since its huge af but only 2k rms and is pricey af
and you clearly don't know that Sundown extremely under rates their subs. You can usually double the RMS on most/if not all, of their subs.

how big is the coil? even if it was a 8 layer it looks tiny for a 24" sub
it's just a zv5 with a 24 inch cone and basket
3inch 8layer coil, don't be fooled by the diameter of the coil, 3inch coils are way more efficient and lighter than heavy 4 or 5inch coils, and don't need as much power to get it playing loud.
DAMN!! maybe we will see one of these in the new work truck.
