Her accent is American-Indian type. She's a born Indian but brought up in America. So that's why she has it. People are always interested in making fun of other's. Even Kareena once made fun of her accent.

Over years I've realised why Indians aren't global like other countries, let's for eg kpop, it's cuz Indians r build this way. They'll put excuses in a person's personality, picking on any damn thing like here for pc everybody's so pressed cuz of her accent ignoring the fact she's the one who took our cinema to global, is a successful actress on her own but Indians, whenever see someone rising above them they'll try to pull down the person for no damn reason. For every person who tries to mock her for her accent, people adopt accents not for themselves, they adopt an accent so that people who are native English speakers can understand it better... nothing, NOTHING wrong in that... heck, if you were asked to work in US for few years, you would adopt an accent within 6 months, no big deal...

When you work/ study in a country which isn't your home country and start interacting with the people from there, you automatically start picking up their culture, accent and lifestyle. You don't tend to realise it unless you think much about it. I think this is exactly what happened to Priyanka. People calling her out for her "fake accent and newly found culture", just admit that you dislike her. This is how human behaviour works, in simple terms.
Such confidence and eloquence at such a young age! She had the marks of the beginning of a global superstar since then!

Earlier pageants were based on the standards laid by men (because they were run by men) that's why it was more physical beauty. There have been so many Miss worlds who were not conventionally beautiful.

Don't comment on her accent. Changing accent is very natural and common. It gets your work done and makes you feel one of them. And remember, the language is meant to be spoken like that. Indian accent is what we have given birth to.

For anyone who's curious about her accent, in PC's memoir she clearly says how she has travelled and been in the US for the most part of her middle and high school years. Even after she returns to Bareilly, she still had her American accent (which is expected and normal). Therefore, her accent here is not a wannabe-fake act, her childhood & teen years plus the 10-month long training she received for her enunciation and dictation skills helped her articulate her thoughts so well.
And seriously, look at her. She's just amazing, oozing confidence and grace. How can you be bothered about the way she speaks?!
