    This is great work on the fuel system but I am completely baffles as to why you did not clean the chassis? The Triumph range are prone to rust and metal fatigue so protecting it with Ziebart/under seal/wax oil / etc would be a good insurance for long term ownership.

    Hi , i subscribed to your channel awhile back. You mentioned you were using the purple wire to power the pump. I have a TR4A and the purple wire is unswitched 12V. The solid green is switched 12V which you may consider. Actually, since the pump probably pulls a lot of current you might want to wire in a relay directly to the battery for the power contacts and then wire the relay coil to the white ignition wire so the pump only runs when the key is on. Don’t forget an inertia switch👍.
    You are going to have a great car when you’re done!!
    Are you planning on attending the 6- pack trials this year?

      Hi Dave. I ran a new purple wire from the engine compartment back to the trunk. It’s a new wire that I’ll hook up when I do the wiring. I should have been more clear on that. I used purple because it’s the only 12awg wire I could find that was long enough.
      When it comes time to hook everything up you are correct. A green or white wire is needed since it’s switched. The kit comes with a relay as well. I also have an inertia switch. I’ll cover all that when I get the wiring done.
      Cheers

      @@hollywoodd3191 I have done some modifications to my TR4A similar to your TR6 regarding the Infinity Q45 diff., Richard Good CV joint half axles and Richard Good hubs. I am all in on making your TR reliable for long drives. You are going to have a really solid car when you are done. I am located is Cincinnati and have driven east extensively. Twice to Watkins Glen for the vintage races and once to Stowe, Vt.
      Later this month we are driving to Manitou Springs,Co to drive up Pikes Peak. Then on to Yellowstone and finally through the Badlands. You are doing some impressive upgrades and I look forward to seeing the final result.

      @@DavesTR4A Hey Dave, I just followed your links and yes you certainly get around with your tr4. I'm doing this conversion currently. I'm cutting holes for the pump and running lines and wires tomorrow! ua-cam.com/channels/a52riltF60CkisWjINjkQw.html Thanks for posting the videos. Very helpful!

    What make of fuel line, source, feet needed and connectors?

    • @hollywoodd3191

      The fuel line came as part of the kit but it's 3/8" AN hose line. The fittings are all AN-6 fittings. Depends how you want to set it up and any extra connections you make, which will determine length and number of AN fittings. I would measure the length of the car and add 10-15 feet on. Then you will have plenty of extra.

    Do you use the high pressure pump along with the in tank pump?

    • @hollywoodd3191
      @hollywoodd3191  Рік тому

      No, I just have the in-tank pump. For this particular pump (FiTech 50017) you just run a single feed line to the fuel rail and that’s it.

    Are you going to vent your tank?
