One of my favourite military facts is that British tanks are all equipped with tea making facilities because during WW2, British soldiers kept getting out of their tanks to make tea and getting shot.
This tied in with tank advances coming to a grinding halt for brew breaks and ultimately being ambushed with crews out of position.

Brits know how to fight, there is no question about it. Everyone talks about the Germans, but they hold no candle to the Brits when it comes to doing what is necessary to win. Even in our American Revolutionary War, the Brits won most of the battles-we just outlasted them. Salute to the Brits, if you go to a war with an Ally you want it to be the British.
With the American revolution, the US had France helping them out, one of the strongest countries in the world at the time
Germans got the best firepower and strength, but they didn’t use it properly...

My Late Grandfather and Father were Royal Engineers both Majors . Royal Engineers have served King Queen Country for over 900 years. They are the longest serving Regiment in the UK and the World, listen to Rudyard Kiplings description of the " Sappers " in his poem its called the " Muddy old Engineer " .

The most recent battle we lost was the Battle of Hastings, and that was in 1066. We haven't lost since. We basically have a 954 year winning streak, more so than any other country.

In WW1 our entry did speed up the end of the war but it was lost for the central powers before our entrance. In WW2 we definitely did. If we didn’t enter the Soviets would’ve taken all Nazi controlled territory, because they would’ve reached Berlin before the Brits since Churchill wanted an invasion through Sicily. If we didn’t enter the whole continent would’ve been communist.

I've watched Al Murray do TV documentaries on various subjects. One doc series was called The Road to Berlin, about WW2. Would you believe that he is actually quietly spoken in normal life, and I think that he studied history at college or uni.
