Read what Sam says below. It does not take but a few grains in the back of the arrow or bolt to change the FOC a bunch. A few added grains like say 5 will drop your FOC a lot. You want the 19% or more FOC so that the broadhead is pulling the arrow. Add 50 grains on the front and shoot a target and see the penetration's difference. The amount of speed you lose is way worth it. It takes much less on the rear of the bolt to change it than it does the front. Take off the lighted knocks and you'll be way better off. Check out Ranch Fairy on arrow tuning on utube..

Catch22rz, what broadheads are you using during hunt season. I have the Ravin R20 and want to have something that has been used on Ravin bows. Thanks for your advice. 👍🏽🙂

Evidently people are not smart enough to be able to figure this out when you take a normal Raven Arrow and you put a lighted Nock in it is going to be heavier than the lighted Arrow because the one that comes with the crossbow has a brass insert up front in the lighted Nock arrows have aluminum insert so that they will be the same weight you would think people would be smarter than that if they put a Hundred grain tip on the arrows that come with the crossbow and then they put a hundred grain tip on a lighted arrows they should weigh the same mine do and I have two of the Ravin r10 crossbows and I have no arrows that don't weigh the same they weigh anywhere around 400 to 402 grains the only thing that I don't like about the lighted arrows did you buy them one year to use you get them out next year and they are dead they will not light up so they are actually a waste of money cuz I'm not going to spend 30 or $40 every year just to replace nocks that should last 3 years

Your right about the lighted nocks going out after a year or less. I have some nocks that I shoot on other crossbows that have replaceable batteries. As for the FOC of the Ravin arrows I would like mine to weigh a little more than 400 grains for hunting. I will probably end up giving the 125 grain broadheads a try instead of my 100 grain that I normally shoot. I like the 425 to 450 grain arrow idea and as I am going to be shooting an R29X. I do wonder a little if the arrows will have enough spine for a heavier broadhead. I should still have plenty of speed to get the job done and maybe get a little better penetration also.

And I have run across my fair share of ( pro staff arrow tuners, and bow experts, ) that didnt actually know shit about tuning, building, or actually sending a arrow thru a deer, without copying somebody elses work, advice, or sitting over top of a feeder..I believe nothing I hear, and only a fraction of what I see, so I really do not give a crap about your desktop research opinions..My results are on the wall and in my freezer, and that is all that matters to me...
