I have played Pentangle and folk rock on a Sunday before, not consciously, but that vibe is what tends to get played.
Nice choices there, enjoyed the Virginia Astley, reminded me of Windham Hill, George Winston feel.
Les Baxter was nice, bit of Exotica always goes down easy.
That Judee Sill album is sublime.
    Good video John.

Fantastic opening John, you had me laughing in my bowl of cereal. Well done. Luna and Spacemen 3, I’m may have to break into your house to snag those albums. My Sunday use to be devoted to classical albums. I must say the second album you sampled was beautiful, I really enjoyed that. I am a fan of Stand Up also. Never really got into folk but then I never really tried to either. Very enjoyable and some thing for me to think about.

Great picks for a Sunday listen. I sometimes add a bit of classical (nothing too big or bold and especially in the fall/winter). Now this video has me looking forward to Sunday but it's six days away! Cheers!

Some excellent picks there...Luna's cover of Beat Happening's 'Indian Summer', the perennial Sunday classic that is 'Something Else' by The Kinks, and the lovely Judee Sill... but especially the Virginia Astley album!!!

Good topic John. I don't have any particular Sunday morning music but it sounds like a nice idea. I enjoyed seeing Wings in your selection - a band that don't get much of a look-in outside the Macca fan-base. Can't believe I still have no Fairport in my collection. Ritual of the Savage certainly looks interesting!

Nice video John - a theme which really chimes with me - Sunday Mornings particularly have me reaching for some of most 'chilled' records. The most gentle ways to start a lazy Sunday morning. Many thanks - D

Thank you David. I guess the other aspect of 'Sunday Music' is that it's the day when we have more time to listen to music.

Hi John. I watched this on my TV today whilst eating my breakfast. Sadly I wasn't having a bacon sarnie ... As always, impeccable taste. I especially liked Virginia Astley. Those church bells combined with her piano playing is just so moving.

I think we're very like minded in this respect John. I would be never go for anything heavy or rocking for a Sunday morning, but at the same time (unless it was a very early start) I wouldn't go for anything electronic or ambient (those I generally prefer to leave for late night listening). I would also steer clear of anything too experimental and difficult. So that leaves music pretty much in the vein of what you showed - maybe some Beatles, Grateful Dead, Richard Thompson. A bit of Canterbury like you - probably early Caravan. Folk rock and singer-songwriter albums too would get a look in - Dylan, Harper, Stewart, Simon, Denny, Carthy, Pentangle,... etc. As I said, pretty similar to yourself.

Great video. Lots for me to discover here. I tend to use Sundays to dig out the classics for some reason, so maybye R.E.M or Stone Roses. Often something I bought in my teens I haven’t played for years, maybye because Sunday puts me in a reflective mood.

I know what you’re saying. Sundays seem to call for classic records you know you’re going to enjoy. Bit like putting on a comfortable pair of slippers.

You are right John, Mojo's 'All Back to my Place' section asks about Saturday night and Sunday morning listens. I think Laurie Johnson did the Avengers (I only know as I recently bought a CD of the Professionals music he did - brilliant!). I played Judee Sill recently (maybe on a Sunday). I have started many lists on many subjects including Sunday albums so will try and do a response...cheers Dale
