Damian, you absolutely ROCK! This is all so fun. I always love your lessons, those are genuine treasures and each one is super-helpful, and then adding something like this in the mix just takes it all up a notch. Thank you so much!🌟🙏🏽😊
This was great. Love to see more power trio music from you guys. I’m fixing to buy your dvd and get on the rockabilly train. I’m 65 and been playing southern rock and blues for 50 years. Always loved rockabilly and now you’ve supplied the tools to help me get it done. Thank you!
I love how i am playing guitar for 2 years now and just remembered your channel from my early days. You inspire as much then as you do right now. Keep it rocking cat💪
Greetings from over in Port Saint Lucie Damian! I can't love this video enough! So cool seeing the 3 of you basically in the woods jammin' out! Awesome!
I’ve been using the Xvive U2 for over a year now and have never had an issue with it. I’m just a home user and it works no matter where I walk to in my 1700sq foot house. The only thing I would recommend is make sure you charge it before gig because even though the battery life is really long, you wouldn’t want it to die during a show.
great demo! I use one in church so I don't have a cable on the floor for the choir to trip over between my guitar at the back and the DI box on the floor in the front of the choir section. Other ideas: use two Rx units with one Tx on the same channel to broadcast into a stereo rig, or one Rx in a stage monitor amp facing backward and another Rx into a PA or forward facing amp. If you need more battery time, the Rx and Tx can be plugged into a charger if you have nearby power or a small USB battery pack for extended time. Love your demos and lessons, many thanks for sharing your knowledge and talents here!
I sometimes forget to unplug it at home when practicing, and that will run down the battery in my guitar on-board pre-amp, so don't forget to unplug it from any ACTIVE guitar pickup system when not in use! Have not had any other issues with active mags or piezo pickups.
I have some of those Damian not the same model but i think they're great. I also have the Gretsch double bass snare and you're Rockabilly dvd. Oh and a Marshall battery operated mini amp.The only thing I'm missing is your skills! 😂 keep em coming buddy great stuff. 👍
Damian, Great content and demo of the Xvive, would love to see more footage with the "Power Trio"!! Your guitar skills and delivery are always top notch. I to am a satisfied user of both 2.4Ghz and 5.8Ghz wireless pairs, same design and concept as the Xvive U2's just a different brand. I use these in Church, and haven't had any interference issues as of yet. You asked for comments on the difference between wireless vs. wired. Here is my take: Although very subtle, or at least to my ears, the wireless seemed to have a bit more high end response, which would stand to reason since you've eliminated cable capacitance between the guitar and the first buffer/amp stage, which is inside the U2's transmitter. Either way, they both sounded great, but the freedom of going wireless cannot be overstated.
I bought the Joyo version of your wireless system for my portable rig. I got a Blackstar Fly 3 and extension speaker for it. Sounds great! The Joyo was about $35 for the set. You can buy cheaper but Joyo is a decent bet. They all claim similar performance to your set. Thanks for hopping me to the Fly and a wireless system.😎👍✨
Yes!!! Im ordering one now!! I got one years ago too keep from tripping over cables during our shows!! One time when I had to piss in the middle of a song i just jumped off the stage and skipped to the men's room. Soon as the song was over I flushed the commode and launched into the next song right from the toilet! ahhhh the good ole days!!!
Hey, that's the test i was searching for. Everybody tests this device in their bedroom, seated... Makes no sense. We want to see if the thing stays in place when you jump around, which you did! Thanks man (from a Damien to a Damian)
Great playing. Cable has bit more clarity and the bass too I'd say but in a live situation don't think 99.9% of the audience would know. I sing too so spend most of the time by my microphone, little opportunity to move around, so a lead to the pedal board makes more sense BUT how do you think this would work from the pedal board to the amp? That would save a cable running across the stage. Got the same Tavo box!
Thank you for the comment. To answer your question, You would still need a cable from the board to the amp. You can only put the receiver into the input jack of the pedal. The receiver has to start at the beginning of the pedal chain. Cheers :)
W0W! Thanx for the excellent review! I was thinking there would be some type of latency issue's. Especially @ that price range. Seems to good to be true! Ha! I just wonder how it would handle an efforts board with a Wah pedal? Thhanx again
Hi Damian, I was looking into the wireless Xvive system for a while. And with the help of your great demo, it was enough to win me over. So I now have the Xvive U2 of my own. It lives up to the hype. Cool! 😎🎸Tim
Tim, I bought one of these last year and it quit working after 6 months and I could never get any response from the company that makes them for replacement. That was my experience.
I remember when Xvive came out with these years ago. My only problem with this Xvive system is its price. I used some Joyo branded stuff in the past so when I saw the Joyo on sale for $35.00 USD, I jumped on it. I believe these affordable wireless systems are all of the same Chinese parts. You can see a dozen or more on the different online market places. They all have the same description and specs as the Xvive, and are one third the price. I did a line of sight test with the Joyo and it did 70+ feet easily. I let my neighbor who plays bass in a cover band try it out and he was amazed. So I bought one for him as a gift. He gigs and practices with it, so far, without a problem. I'm 70, so I just use mine in the home. But, to think you could buy three sets for the price of one Xvive and get the same performance. Just remember to charge these up before a gig or practice. Oh, and all of these types of wireless systems are disposable. Including the Xvive. When the battery wears down and starts holding a charge for shorter and shorter times, there is no way to change the battery. Dispose of it at your local electronics shop.
@@Damianblf Beautiful park, but my favorite over there on your side of town is up in Largo park. They have trains for the public going thru the park, and on Wednesday they use to have a guitar jam in the pavilion, with the attitude the more the better Cheers
Just sent mine back to Sweetwater, less than a year old, just quit working, a little tight on my strat with the trem BUT I fricking love it and will buy another if they can't repair it.
Great review, Damian. I could hear a difference. The wireless system lacks a little clarity compared to the cable. I've found with the wireless systems I've used (not Xvive though), that the signal of a note diminishes quicker. I didn't hear that in this review. I use good quality cables always now.
The Xvive in the one case I heard it used was with a musician in a live concert/tv production. It completely changed the sound of the guitar ..now lows and now really high highs.. We had to ditch it and plug straight in to get the genuine sound. it might be better with electric to an amp, when you carve the heck out if it on an eq. Aside from the sound quality.. it connected and was plug and play.
I used to gig with wireless guitar, headset mic and do the steppin' out to crowd. Before ya get outta range for the radio gear, you'll fall behind the beat if the time delay from FOH is long enough - especially in uptempo stuff.
This video is one of my favorites. You gave it great test and demonstration. To my non professional ear, there wasn't much difference from the plugged in demo. If I could afford those goodies...I'd definitely use that product. Your music was great too by the way.
Hey man I have a inexpensive wireless similar to the one here your reviewing. it's great for practice as being hinged if you touch something with it it has a bit of play so all the pressure isn't indirectly on the output plug. and not having a cable you don't pull the amp off the speaker cab or where ever. by concentrating on your practicing so much (speaking from experience) I'm forgetful of everything else when I get into it. So having wireless is a God send. great review thank You for all the hard work in the making of your videos Love your playing. But man you make it all look so easy. but that's just a challenge. 😉
Both cable and transmitted sound good but if I have to compare, the transmitted one sounds slightly "boxy" and broadcasted, as if over a radio, and the good old cord sounds more immediate and fuller, if that makes sense. But as with all these comparisons on YT, If I'm being entertained, I won't be comparing.
I bought the XVIVE a few years ago. Whether gonig through my pedal board or Headrush 1000 there's no perceptible latency and the sound remains true. They're great. I'll never go back to cords. If you use WiFi, I do recommend shutting it down while using the XVIVE because it can cause interference. Kinda like the Yamaha amp that owned back in the late 70s that used to pick up Japanese radio stations. Signals are weird! Oops, he mentioned the WiFi issue. That's what I get for not looking before crossing the street.
I have the same set and it interferes with my wifi. I tried changing the channel and it didn’t help. I like to play a guitar lesson on my iPad but if I use the Xvive wireless, the video stops playing after a few seconds. I’ve noticed it will drop signal once in a while and you’ll get like a quick skip. Damien, try it at home with a wifi device running and see what happens. Thanks for the video.
Damien I know you like buddy holly. Have you ever seen the movie '' words of love '' From about 1990? Someone has put it up on youtube now, i hadn't seen it for 30 years.
