I’ve been making chicken, white chili forever and my family loves it. This week they saw me make it and put cream cheese in it and they’re all like oh gross. I’ve made it that way for 20 years.
The chicken onion, rice and sour cream looks delicious. Someone in my house refuses anything with onions though😢. Or cream of anything. Or mushrooms. What’s left. Cheerios?
Wuss-tah-sherr sauce. It's British spelling and most Americans don't know how to pronounce it, so don't feel bad about it. That last one would be wonderful with a simple side salad and some hot Jiffy cornbread dripping butter. Here's a quick and easy Black Bean Soup: 1 whole onion, diced small 2 cans black beans 1 cup stock or broth (veg/chicken/beef) 1 clove garlic, pressed/minced 1/2 tsp ground cumin salt & pepper to taste white vinegar sour cream or plain yogurt seasoned croutons green bell pepper, diced small (optional) Put 1/2 the onion, 1/2 can of the beans, all the stock/broth, the garlic, and the cumin in a blender and run until full mashed and mixed. Add the remaining beans and seasoning and stir. Add vinegar to taste (go slowly). This can be served hot or cold. Pour into a bowl and garnish with sour cream or yogurt, croutons, and diced raw onion & bell pepper.
I love a crockpot recipe 💝 A simple crockpot recipe I like to use is chicken and a jar of salsa. You can make that in to tacos, burritos, burrito bowls, however you want :) I make it up here and save it away in fridge/ freezer to have for another time too. Reheats well :)
I really just put in either broth or milk and add flour. I didn’t even think of adding any fat (although the milk would have some and the broth would possibly have a tiny amount). It seems to work out fine but you could definitely add butter to begin and it might increase the flavor. Although it’s always tasted fine to me. ❤️❤️
Thank you so much for the ideas! Crockpot meals are my favorite, especially with younger kids. Soups, Mac n cheese, meatloaf…so many things I’ve made in the crockpot-Sarah
Lol. It's been years since I've been to waffle House. I couldn't handle people smoking. It's probably all non smoking now. There's a waffle house in enterprise. Merry Christmas to you all.❤
I just had Chicken Chili for the first time last spring and my friend gave me the recipe quite a bit different not sure if it's as cheap or not she uses a packet of mix by McCormicks I believe so I liked that yours gave the ingredients to make it myself instead of buying a premade packet mix which was pretty pricey. I loved all the recipes, but the Recipes need to be either flashed on the screen as a whole recipe or down in the description. Because it was a lot to take notes and have to rewind to get it all but other than that, it was a real good video
Question on your cream of soup recipe: does that recipe replace about 1 can of cream of soup approximately and can you make a batch and store it for later use in fridge or freezer etc?

That’s funny!
This made me chuckle 😂🤣😂
The chicken onion, rice and sour cream looks delicious. Someone in my house refuses anything with onions though😢. Also cream of anything. Good grief.

Not sure how I missed this video but I’m very pleased to have found it now! ❤
I really wish you had a cookbook, with everything in one place!
Awwww! I have thought about that. I think I’m far from it but maybe one day! But thank you for the encouragement! 🥰

By the way.....Worchestershire is pronounced woo (like in the word "wood")-stuh-shir (as in the word "shirt") . 😁😋 woo-stuh-shir
Oh thanks!
Wow. I like each one. I need down size for just me. I appreciate the simplicity.

I cracked up watching your measurements! 😂 I can’t wait to try your recipes!!!
Sometimes we just don’t have time for a measuring spoon 😂
Hi Lori - for your homemade cream of soup, do you not start with a butter and flour roux? I expected to see some fat. 💖

Everything looks so delicious! Waiting for the invite. Lol❤
😂😂😂. Well, our tradition is to go to Waffle House on Christmas Day, so you probably don’t want to be here 😂

Yeah, I try to avoid those packets because it’s fairly easy to figure out what is in there ☺️
I was taught to say the name of the sauce this way. Not sure it’s correct but it sounds good and it’s fun. Woo ste shy er sauce.
🎉🎉🎉

I usually do put the recipes in the description. Sorry for them not being there this time
Hi Lori. What would you do if sour cream was not an option? I only buy one tub a month as it is expensive
You could make your own yogurt and thicken it by draining the whey (I think that is what it’s called). That’s what I would do in a pinch
Question on your cream of soup recipe: does that recipe replace about 1 can of cream of soup approximately and can you make a batch and store it for later use in fridge or freezer etc?
YES AND YES! You can make it up for the week (or two). I don’t know about storing it in the freezer though. I’ve not tried that.
On the recipe with rice and chicken. What type of rice
It really doesn’t matter. I usually use regular white or brown rice, but basmati is also a favorite!
