The John Bush era to me was so much better. Joey had a lot of great hits with the band but there’s more power and more feeling in the John Bush era. Joey just doesn’t get it done
Oh by far ! It’s there best record. I mean it’s cool there still doing it . Much love ! But the band I loved was with the bushman ! Funny thing is I don’t care for armored saint at all . It’s that line up sown !
I didn't appreciate the album when it came out in 93 and got rid of it. In 2008 I was in a Dollar Tree and I found a "cut-out" copy of it again and it blew me away. Fantastic album.
@@leonardofloresbasile9106 Without Joey, Anthrax would be just another generic metal band IMO. Joey's voice is what made them stood out, especially in the 80's.
If you are talking about John Bush, he is back to his former band Armored Saint. Apparently, he is starting another band with ex-members from Exodus and Machine Head@@dannyvela4521
He was singing it great even back in 2009, but I think he’s feeling more comfortable in the band now, and getting to do his own thing with the Journey gig. Whatever these guys are so lucky to be able to do this
Thanks for recording and sharing this, an important piece of Anthrax history. I loved hearing Joey give it his all, blasting out the chorus - imho he nailed it but JB's version is 100% perfection.
Big respect to Joey and Anthrax that respects their discography unlike other bands known to shift singers back and forth that basically only play their vocalist's songs.
Completely agree. Some other big bands do the same like Iron Maiden... it's great to listen to Bruce sing mainly X Factor songs. But some doesn't because of vocal limitations.. everytime with my friends that we end up talking about that we evoke Black Sabbath, and why Ozzy doesnt sing Dio songs....
Joey has consistently said he's not interested in even listening to the Bush era Anthrax. So much for respect. I'm amazed Scott and Charlie actually got him to sing this!
This right here, is the proof that Joey can sing the Bush-era songs in his own style, and do them total justice. Joey and John are two of my favourite singers, and I'd so love to see Joey take on some more of the John Bush classics. Hy Pro Glo, Packaged Rebellion, What Doesn't Die, Safe Home, Catharsis... come on Joey, you can do it!
Been an Anthrax fan since the beginning! Love Scott Ian IMHO the greatest rhythm guitar player ever! And love that he still plays Jackson guitars! Awesome!
Joey did a pretty good job here. When he attempted it a decade ago, it was an unmitigated disaster. No feel for the song at all. Glad to see put in the work, as this tune is an absolute classic.
I'm the biggest John Bush nutswinger there is and I thought Joey did that really well. I didn't like it when he did it in 2011, but he really rocked it on here. Of course he doesn't have the grittiness to his voice that John has that works so well, but he made it enough of his own without straying from the song. Kudos to Joey!
Fucking sick!!! Never thought Joey would sing Bush songs but there are fucking GEMS there. Only, Lodge, Random Acts, etc!!! I will see Anthrax in Sweden if this is on the menu!🤘🤘🍺🔥
@Dirk Digler sound of white noise and We come for you all are perfectly cromulent metal albums. Bush was a great singer for Anthrax, but I do prefer Joey
@@13christbane Well, Sammy struggled with Dave's songs too, but he HAD to perform them. Refusing to perform them was not an option; just as John could not refuse to perform Joey's songs. Of course Joey doesn't sound as good as good John when he performs his songs, but at least he performs them. The point I'm trying to make is that he could've refused to perform John's songs. He had that option, but he didn't take it.
This is strange, Joey said he doesn't like the Bush songs. Anyway, Only is a hell of a song for the band, there is no way to be forgotten, so it must be played.
I think Joey certainly has the ability to sing this gem. He should sing it the same way he sang Parasite. And he should sing it with the same phrasing that Bush sang. He'd nail it.
The John Bush era needs more love!!!
My favorite anthrax
Joey is the voice of Anthrax and my favorite era but he can’t touch John’s voice. John’s voice is one of the strongest voices in metal.
for sure John Bush is an excellent singer
This proves why they made the change love joey but the over signing on this and lack of power shows why they needed the change.
The John Bush era to me was so much better. Joey had a lot of great hits with the band but there’s more power and more feeling in the John Bush era. Joey just doesn’t get it done
Yeah and John Bush is lost in Armored Saint. I saw them last week in Wacken and yeah its mediocre but not more
Sound of White Noise will always be my favorite Anthrax album and I’m an OG Anthrax fan
W/ noise is a steller release love that cd when it came out it is SO angry!

Room for 1 More is on my workout Playlist. Black Lodge is a great song too.
My favorite
No one can do it like John. I miss John and Danny.
I miss Danny.. I'm very happy that Joey's back.
Belladona rules ,belladona is Anthrax
@@leonardofloresbasile9106 Absolutely. Joey is THE voice of Anthrax. Irreplaceable.

Joey has improved greatly from the last time I heard him attempt this song. John Bush’s raspy voice is epically underrated.
Commenting even before listen, but last time I saw it, it was a disaster, fingers crossed here...
What happened to that dude. Don't know much about Anthrax

Anthrax is still one of the greatest live bands ever!
The best of the Big Four at live
Totally agree on that! 👍🤗😍
I saw Anthrax once live in 2010 and its was absolutely blast gig!!! 🔥🤘🔥
I was a kid in Croatia in 1989 listening anthrax I was d coolest kid in school!

They rarely play any of those Bush songs.

Scott has the best rhythm tone in metal!
35 years later and they still look and sound great
*40 years
April ‘93 I heard this song for the first time. I was blown away by this album.
I actually really loved the direction Anthrax went in the John Bush era.
Scott’s endless musical enthusiasm is infectious.
Nice to hear again this incredible song! 🤘🤘
I'm 12 and I love anthrax
You are young I grew up
On this it’s great
Welcome to the family
Your dad must be a good Gen X representative for sure. Our generation officially adopts you boy!!
I would love to see them do “Black Lodge” with this lineup.
That would be sick!!!
Not with Joey singing it
@KPOP goes METAL I'd rather Scott sing the song than Joey, don't get me wrong Joey is a great singer but not Bush's songs
Honor To Anthrax 4 the Twin Peaks tribute.
Joey could never pull it off
This is the best I've heard Joey sing this particular song. 😎🤘

Joey is almost god, he have the presence
It sounds like he's leaning more into what he was singing during his Belladonna album stuff. It definitely works in his own way.
Proof he can sing Johns songs? Really? He properly butchered that!
Only is a kickass song
John, please save this song!!!!!
Fuck yeah!!! This needs to stay on the set
John Bush got me back into Anthrax.

Saw this live. One hell of a show.
Such a great song... those drums. Damn...
The best Anthrax song
Looked up if they actually did this song live with Joey. Was not disappointed. Guy can still can sing.
This tune is great. Cool that they are playing it live again. Nice to see that Joey agrees to sing it even though it’s from the Bush era!
3:54 love this, joey is so interactive with the audience, he was singing right at me when i saw them, anthrax loves to be connected with the fans
Anthrax is still a fine tuned metal force , \m/
Good job joey and Anthrax . They still got it.

Props to Joey for not pulling a David Lee Roth and being willing to perform John's songs.
Yeah, and he sounds great doing it! Really glad they put this back on the setlist!

2 words. Joey Belladonna!

Good stuff!
Trivia - When Metallica went NY to sign with Megaforce, James didn't want to be the lead vocalist. They contacted John Bush, and he declined the gig.

The John Bush years were the BEST Anthrax years
No mention of Neil Peart? Ah well, honest mistake. Still love Anthrax and will see you live some day!!
