It was tremendous to see Kim Collison saying that he considered giving up around Langdon (around 4-5 minutes into the video), which would have meant 4 successive DNFs in the Winter Spine. Instead, he went on to win the race by over three hours! It reminded me of an interview that a relative gave after running the Winter Spine Challenger a few years ago with a similar comment about having expected to give up at a checkpoint but, after some food and a rest, he went on to finish 3rd in the Men's race. How these guys run these distances and still have breath to conduct interviews while still running is amazing. Everyone who finishes races like these deserves a medal, not least because of how they inspire the rest of us to do things we never thought we were capable of doing. Many, many thanks to all the organisers and volunteers who make these races possible every year and for the way they encourage and help all the runners. We, the dot watchers, salute you!
That edit from 4:33 to Kim with the music was epic - love these videos they get better and better each year! Love how you feature all competitors from the front to the back!
Ali is great in these videos more of her please! The people who are participating in any of the Spine races are inspirational! Thank you for providing these updates.
Would love some chat or footage of the back front pack. Places 10-25.. some great performances happening that only 5 years aag could be winners.. Some min battles happening there for sure.
I know what you mean but the logistics of being able to film across those distances is so hard that I feel like they have to do it this way or miss out on all of the lead action entirely.
What an epic experience, its like living for 3 lives. Well done to the organizers and to the athletes who had the courage to stand to the start line 👏👏👏
Everything about this event is epic and fantastic. Well done every single person whether you're competing or part of the back-up TEAM (we had a bit of an insight into the support network when we met some of the team for Summer Spine 2024 at Horton in Ribblesdale bunk-house). Mightily impressed.....WELL DONE EVERYONE.
How are you filming the runners while running and talking? Can only hear one set of footsteps (the runners) is the camera operator on a hover board?! 😅

Dufton to Alston is a killer leg. Respect to all! 🙏
Spinx! What a legend.just watched her double Bob Graham a few weeks back. So humble. So tenacious. She’s the embodiment of fell running.

Incredible, every single one of them!
@JenW - awesome inner strength shown by you there: reset, refocus, renew.
The real challenge is always in the mind and you've cracked the code here.

I don't understand what they're carrying in their backpacks!? They're huge!

@@SpineRace are they on ice skates?
I managed to catch a lot of them yesterday but I'm really tired today wondering how they do it 👍❤️💛💚
