Not all of them. I thought I saw the clip before but not too sure. I learned the perfect curtsy from watching the video of Princess Catherine curtsy to HM. I did notice the cultural differences between the UK and US. For us, we refer to men and women in general as sir/ma'am. So, that seems a bit awkward to me to start as YM or YRH then pivot to a common address. I think psychologically the protocol is correct in people not constantly feeling the difference in status but it would take getting used to. I have questions about it though- just out of curiosity. Should a curtsy be as quick as possible or a few seconds? Is the curtsy for everybody or only the subjects of the crown? This is an interesting video. I love to see the Royals with all those people who get all excited and forget.🤣🤣 The people they meet rarely ever get it right. It's the look of joy and then freeze.🤣🤣

I met Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal 👑 (known to Americans as Princess Anne). She was warm, intellectually curious, and a great conversationalist. Two thumbs up! 👍👍 👸 😀
This is so strange. I know this inherently. It makes sense, and it seems as if I was taught this from childhood…..I feel quite certain I could behave properly if ever I had the opportunity to be in the Queen’s presence. ❤️🤓
It's not compulsory to bow or curtsey when meeting the Queen or other members of the Royal Family It's entirely up to the individual. I don't think the Queen or any other members of the Royal Family lose any sleep because someone they met didn't.
Knowing how to curtsy is also a good way to get out of having to hug someone. Simply taking the step back and putting out your hand gets yourself out of their range :) Men are supposed to let ladies take the lead on whether it's to be a handshake or just a bow but.....
I would love to meet the Queen first then William and Kate lol I think I would get so nervous and forget what to do 🤣😂 lots of love and prayer and good Health for HER Majesty ♥️
Ah, but that's the thing about etiquette- it's something that once learned, is second nature. That's why the rules are so nice to have- we all know where we stand so to speak :)
I told my Scottish friends perhaps I shouldn't meet Princess Anne because I would not curtsy. I did not wish to be insulting, and I knew my stiff-necked American Irish self would not bend a knee. My friends just laughed and said she won't care, she'll figure it out when you speak. So I met her, and she didn't bat an eyelash. My impression was she had a wonderful complexion. Novar House, Riding for the Disabled, about 1990. But I do believe I would curtsey to HMTQ. Her enduring care of Britain and the Commonwealth is due the most profound admiration.

This is really good 👍 I'm from Virginia and differently have that Southern thing going. If I'm having a bad day because of work. The thing with me if I go anywhere for a lunch break or dinner a gentleman will open a door for me. That tells me Momma raised you right. That makes my day. And with our Southern men they'll come back with a Yes Ma'ma . I've had men in a greeting raised my hand and kiss it when meeting me. Grant you I like my Southern men. :)
I agree- I cringed at the title. Unless they asked your name for some reason, you would be introduced by the host who is moving down the receiving line with them.

A highly respectful hand shake like you do it wit everyone ( it is enough, no need to bow or even low your head... Because that is a sign of submission...!!!) And as humans we should already treat everyone with respect, despite of social status, ranking profession, etc...Unless one meets people from other cultures 😉 that is a totally different issue. And please look the person eyes to eyes do not lower your eyes👀 that indicates submission also.
So many people don’t have any manners anymore . I was raised right and I’m polite . It’s been yes ma’am no ma’am my whole life . Hold the door for someone , if you see someone struggling , help them . We’ve lost care for one another .
Apart from the curtsy, it's pretty much how you would meet any other person. But the title is misleading- I think you ought to wait to be introduced. Apart from what forms of address to use and precedence in receiving lines, it's just common etiquette.
