to be honest, the part with ann and paul in the cemetery is like "paul's spirit can move on, knowing she found the guy that would make her happy again", awesome plot indeed.

So Paul was dead all along and at the last part when she and Paul were sitting on a bench, that is Paul's spirit ( its time to forget the past). All the part of Paul were four years ago. Its what I understand about the story.

Fascinating. We were led to believe that "The Choice" was about choosing between Jay & Paul. But actually, the choice was the decision to hold on to the past or to move on with a new love. Love is as perennial as the grass.
