I think Jollibee including the mom almost off frame but with the voice over saying "My son is gone!" kind of muddled it up because dozens of reactors likewise were confused and thought it was the girl saying those so thought Paul was her son, probably forgetting that at the start it showed girl and guy were schoolmates.

You didn't finish the whole thing. There is still a few second segment after the ad. It shows Ann is frantic of being left behind but Jay assured her. A lot of people got confused on that segment too. You need to read the date on the tomb stone, Paul's mom should had mention "My son Paul is gone" or should had been shot in a different angle or a doctor telling Paul's family including Ann, that Paul was dead.

In my opinion the post credit is not needed. It actually ruined the schocking moment. I would have left it without the extra clip. If the end was trying to give a relief from all of the rollercoaster of emotions, it didnt work for me.

As you also used the word implied, it is already implied that she's traumatized (maybe not the proper description). No need to show us again. It just negated the impact of shock. Even the acting when the film was just about to fade away didn't seem authentic compare to the rest of it. There didn't seem to be a connection between the couple. It just showed that they were just acting for the commercial. It dumb down the quality of the short story for me.
