I've always had the impression that Border Terriers are just as smart as Jack Russell Terriers, but now I have learned that my impression was a fact! It was amazing to know that there is a Terrier breed that isn't scrappy! I really like Terriers, but their scrappiness is a trait that always makes me hesitant to recommend them to other people. Now I know what breed to suggest if someone is looking for a Terrier! As always, thank you Dogumentary TV for producing educational content!
From what I know of them, yes they are as smart as JRT's but not as destructive. Of course they are terriers and can be but I honestly think that an average dog person can easily handle a Border. JRT's are just not good for the average household. We used to get so many in rescue from people who couldn't handle them, especially in the late 90s/ early 2000s. Borders are just a stellar breed in every way.
I had a border terrier once, and she had all the good qualities of terriers and none of the bad. They are a great breed and I can't understand why they're not more popular (but it's probably for the best).
I've been watching a UA-cam channel about a girl with a German Shepherd and a Border Terrier that just hiked the Continental Divide Trail last year. Not a lot of dogs who can complete that 3000 mile trail! The channel is Bailey Bremner if you're interested. She might like to talk about Border Terriers for this channel!
I had a border terrier who lived to be 21 years old and he was a terror until the day he died. Lots of fun but definitely a dog for experienced handlers!
They're wonderful! And as the old photos show they used to have longer more normal faces. I wish we could get those back. The breed has Canine Epileptoid Cramping Syndrome in some dogs. But they're great dogs overall if you get a nice one.
Love the terrier videos when they pop up on this channel. My 5 dream working terriers i think everyone should know about:jack russel terrier, border terrier, lakeland terrier, jagd terrier, and patterdale terrier.
Coukd you pls do a "living with Irish setters"? I know you did one with working lines, but unfortunately we dont get those where we are. Thank you for all the awesome vids!
Be careful with your adult BT off lead, we learnt the hard way when our 2 year old obedience trained BT went after a rabbit on a walk in the forest off lead. Even a well trained BT can suffer from selective deafness if they get after pray or even see a cat.
Horrid dogs. I’m sure they are great to own, but every single person who has one, seems unable to control them. In my town they are very popular, they just want to fight my dog, who is utterly placid. They snarl, foam at the mouth, rage, bark like demons at her and their idiot owners just stand and watch.
They do tend to get over excited and when that happens they make what I call gremlin noises which to some people sounds aggressive but is them wanting to play however foaming at the mouth and snarling is definitely a warning. Usually these breeds are super friendly but can be overwhelming to many. Sorry you have had bad experience 😔 it sounds that the owners need some training and a behaviourist. I hope my bt pup still remains friendly when older.
@DogumentaryTV
This is without a doubt my go to channel for dog breed reviews!
Your viewers appreciate you for real
This is one of the most perfect breeds in existence. Definitely in my top 5. I don't know why they aren't more common.
Strays!!!
Probably because they look plain to todays standards. Everyone likes exaggerated features on dogs.
And most of them get quite yappy when around larger dogs
Best kept secret of all dog breeds. My little girl is 13 and is just the best dog you could ever hope to own, in every way.
Oh my gosh! I was so excited to see this on my Friday night! I hope to see another one about these perfect little terriers!!!

Thanks so much Zeke, it's amazing to see you make a high quality video on my favorite breed

I love it. This covered my curiosity for this breed.
Thanks for more terrier videos! Keep up the good work!
Omg this guy is adorable
Reminds me of Tramp from Lady and the Tramp
Yeah perfect!
Great observation

My favorite dog!
Being a terrier I assume BT’s are good watch dogs?
Are they a “barky” breed?
The video was cool, that old man in the blue, his ass was starving lmfao
He loves his chicken! My special seasoning
Funny, cause no one in this vid looks underfed
Perfect little dog 😍
I love this breed ..
damn it. i came here looking for reasons not to have one and finished the video thinking they are perfect for me.
She does not mention spannable. The most important standard of the breed. Size and weight is not rigid only that they must be spannable,
My border terrier steals money 💴 I love ❤️ that dog 🫣🤭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
The KC recked Border Terriers
These seem very similar to a miniature poodle. Did she say they don't shed?
I did. They don't shed. However if you leave their coat growing out they will eventually have breakage of hair. They are also hypoallergenic.
I've wanted one since I was a child but they're so hard to find where I'm from
It to they still used for hunting Vermin
Yes they will hunt vermin
Anyone know of any working Border Terrier breeders in the US?
Try Wartrace borders in Tennessee
@@barkbb
Thank you.
i want one but cant find a breeder close to me
Where are the subtitles?? :(
Rubbish talk, of course. But such cute dogs.
Honey badger 101 loose skin is for bite defense
The has not been a working borders in 30 years
If you want to have a true working Border you would have to import one from the UK
I’m looking 👀 for a watch ⌚️⏱🐕 for a novice owner like 👍 myself
