Thank you , dearestJoan Baez, for keep going unshakable for the last sixty years, touching our hearts our minds and souls on whatever of good and beautiful we may have within us. God bless you till the end of times
@@juliesherry2735 Joan recently retired from active concertizing and now lives quietly a half-hour from me. I met her in the mid-1980's during a protest vigil in front of the Soviet Consulate on Green Street in San Francisco. It was in support of dissident Andrei Sakharov and his wife Elena Bonner.
I heard this song when i was so young. My dad wanted me to listen and prectise Eng skill. I really love Donna Donna. Now, i'm 30 years old. I still listen.
I so love her since my high school days. I love particulary this song that I tried to learn to strum a guitar to this song. I later named my only daughter Donna.and taught her this song. Thanks a lot Joan Baez. I love thru the years. God bless you.

Indescribably sad. But inspiring too. I often think about mothers who said their last messages to their children. before all walking or running to their deaths. And the height to which so many Jewish people, and others, transcended to over so many years of horror and fear.
I have just re-visited my past by stumbling upon some beautiful You tubes of Joan Baez. She was a 60’s icon, and I was in grade school not really knowing what she stood for. Thank you Joan for continuing to hold your torch so that generations after, benefit from your gentle yet powerful social justices through your music
im.born 1990 but im listening donna donna joan baez because this is song, for my sleep until now 30yearold ... hello grandma joan.. we love u. from indonesian

Gosh, she has entered my playlist list of midnight heartbreak music, although I am not essentially heartbroken. But music makes you feel more than you can.
Yeah, that was great when Ms. Baez smiled like that. Looked like she was moved and surprised when so many joined in. Nice moment. And then she harmonized with them!

I just listened to the original Vanguard recording of this song. Then I found this recent video of Joan singing "Donna Donna". Both versions are the same, yet they are different. Both are beautiful. And in the 2018 version you can just hear the lifetime of experience Joan has poured into that song. I have been listening to Joan Baez since the '60's and I still find it a magical experience. (I still have the vinyl recording holding this song, and I know exactly where it is.)
Her voice still same after 60years. From my dad to me and now to my son.

Wow. Her voice is excellent even at old age.
I have been listening to this genius for decades. Endless enjoyment. Sometimes deep sadness.
Singing an era, she was a fighter for equality. Through her, we learned the value of her equal human rights and peace.
She's perfected her interpretation. The original recording is beautiful. This is gorgeous.
A song I sang and hummed many times when I was in early secondary school, 50 yrs ago. GOD bless you Joan

What a marvellous singer.

She was 75 or 76 during this performance. Think about that. Fun fact. This song is a Yiddish song as was written in 1941, the same year Joan was born.
