Their favorite song.
Bourgeois music?
This is possibly the first English song I ever heard - my kindergarten teacher sang this song in class during day 2 or 3 in school. My 3-yr old heart and brain couldn’t process how i felt listening to this, but yeah, it did make me imagine a lonely traveller on the road..my first experience of “bittersweet” emotions, I’m sure
I love the way she sings the harmony line during the second verse..and let's the audience carry the melody. Brilliantly beautiful.

Lovely voice
It is definitely that like your comment😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂.
Right now, I am all alone in quarantine in Turkey, and I've never felt more connected to this song.

Thank you You Tube. I had forgotten a lot of the old songs and singers without you. Who ever came up with the ideal off You Tube. thank you so very much.
Such a beautiful voice, she never really got the recognition she deserved. Beautiful.
This song is what music is meant to be ❤
it's fathers day... joan baez was my fathers favorite musician. when i started playing the guitar, he always told me how she taught herself. he died of cancer 4 years ago, when i was 15. now i'm twenty. i can't buy my father a "best dad" mug today but i can listen to this and think of him
This is so heart felt. Stay strong .
I'm couldn't content my tears.... wow. My aunt used to sing me this exact version as a lullaby when I couldn't sleep... I'm so glad I found this again
I see these words to 500 miles as the growing apart of two people from what was once a beautiful relationship. Intensely moving.
What a divine performance
Que voz linda possui Joan Baez! De quantas nuances sua voz é capaz! É impressionante! Uma das maiores cantoras de que o mundo já teve notícia. E ela continua na ativa até hoje. Que bom !!!
I am one of the audience who are listening her so patiently🥰 sitting there...
the sound of the guitar is quite well matched with Joan's songs which is so beautiful, pure and innocent
One day my mom showed me this video, and that was the day I met with Joan Baez. Thank you mom, for introducing me this wonderful woman, may you live long and forever.
2:46 she's singing with all her heart.
look at the teary eyes.

Merci pour ta voix sublime...inoubliable...😍
Have ignored this lady’s talent most my life, thank you you tube for allowing me make up for lost time
This has gotta be the best version I’ve ever heard, and that is saying something
I found that too.
My goodness, i just love Joan.... So beautiful, so full of grace and compassion...i wish i had known a woman like her in my life... Bless you Joan for sharing your music with us all... Love
The perfect voice for her generation. I idolized this woman in the sixties. I can't think of anyone today who captures the spirit of the times as she did.
What a beautiful song this is. And very beautiful singer she is. Thank you very much nice song. I'm 64 years old, japanese. Have a nice day. 2021.3.31 Today is cloudy. But i'm so happy.
Learned and sang this song in grade school, I cried and loved it, Mr Cantrell, Emmett, Idaho, what a beautiful man, God bless him!
Back in old days only people with real talent can be on television show
I think JB has the sweetest singing voice that I've ever heard...Truly

Lord I'm 7,500 miles from home ....
Amazing voice, stunning character, simple but heartfelt words...
11000 miles from home
ohh this song bring tears to my eyes, i used to travel a lot back then, always on road, from cities to cities, from towns to towns, just with a backpack, and i was stay whispering this song on the road.
Wow did you guys see the emotion in her eyes her voice is so beautiful and emotional enough to make anyone cry.
I lived in Glasgow for a little over a year Back in 2014 for my postgraduate studies. I don’t know what connection keeps pulling me to Scotland . I feel a certain sense of patriotism which I don’t think I ever felt for my own country. Don’t get me wrong, I love my country. But I breath in the memories of Scotland and everything I experienced there. Scotland made me feel so accepted. It’s been 10 years since, and every time my throws tough times at me I close my eyes and think of my days in Scotland and everything gets better . I love Scotland 🏴 the land of the brave.
This song has been covered by many singers.
Joan Baez' version is one of the best.
+George Vreeland Hill i am so happy that you say "one of the best...." we are so fortunate to be able to access many versions of great songs and singers and in most cases there aren't definitive versions.... and for the record I do think she has a wonderful voice...
+John London I AM BRAZILIAN..... HAVE YOU EVER HEART WITH THE PROCLAIMERS?
every joan baez songs are one of the bests.
No comparison.
Avis que je partage à 1000 % !
Joan Baez will always be the reigning queen of folk music! A voice that was made in heaven!
Lost my brother this year.... This song is for you Brother 😘
I've been a fan of Ms. Baez for 60 years. I remember how she started out singing traditional folk songs. This is one of my favorite songs by her, the haunting quality of her voice is just perfect!!
pain goes in heart when you listen to this song while you are struggling in foreign country specially as a student....):
(Work, empty stomach, study...still hoping to accomplish in life.
That's just the poor life. That effects everyone bruh
Boy, she has some voice, huh? I remember a friend once saying you can almost "taste" her voice. I agree...
Claudette Preisinger :-))) non comment. A wonderfull Voice

+Claudette Preisinger like she just ate a onion sandwich huh?
if you miss the train i'm on
you will know that i am gone,
you can hear the whistle blow
a hundred miles, a hundred miles,a hundred miles...
Lord i can't go on this way...
+flip benzoni
Well I'm walking down this track
I've got tears in my eyes.
Trying to read a letter from my home.
And if this train runs me right I'll be home next Saturday night
Now I'm 500 miles away from home.
Divine voice from heaven. God welcomes and showers his blessings to the soul away from five hundred miles🌷🌷🌷
How smartly and quickly she tuned her guitar this shows how not just a good singer but she is a good guitarist too
the sound of the guitar with Joan'voices is given like the somewhere... like the fresh air which i can breath in the mountains with lots of trees
Made me cry when I heard it decades ago. Still does.
Joan Baez is a rare occasion in the history of the entire span of recorded musical history. Her duet with the late great Marcedes Sosa, singing Gracias a la Vida is an amazing voice battle between to giants.
The Way All The Spectators Sing along Just Luved It ❤️❤️❤️
If you miss the train I'm on
you will know that I am gone
You can hear the whistle blow a hundred miles,
A hundred miles,
A hundred miles,
a hundred miles,
a hundred miles
you could hear the whistle blow a hundred miles.
Lord I'm one, lord I'm two, lord I'm three, lord I'm four
Lord I'm 500 miles from my home
500 miles,
500 miles,
500 miles,
500 miles
Lord I'm 500 miles from my home
Not a shirt on my back,
not a penny to my name
Lord I can't go on this a-way
This a-way
This a-way
This a-way
This a-way
Lord I can't go on this a-way
If you miss the train I'm on,
you will know that I am gone
You can hear the whistle blow a hundred miles
A hundred miles
A hundred miles
A hundred miles
A hundred miles
You could hear the whistle blow a hundred miles
Thanks for the lyrics
God Bless You
Superb super innovation creators
Tnx bro
