In 2019 I decided not to buy clothes just to see how much my wardrobe fit my life and style. No wonder I no longer used 90% of it. So at the beguinning of 2020 I declutered 70% because I needed to shed some weight and still needed some pieces and saved the better ones for when getting backup on track .. Corona came and lockdown was the norm so I begun to see how shallow materialisc society was ..saved some real money for other things like taking care of my health and hunting vintage Key pieces like you showed us.. so much better than burn money on fast fashion!!! Thank you Emma for inspiring us!!!! 😘
It is so true to search for items you already own just for style inspiration. We all have enough clothes to last a lifetime and sometimes its just about refreshing the look with a different accessory or even hairstyle.
You're the most helpful fashion youtuber I've come across. I've taken so many of your recommendations to heart and my wardrobe thanks you for it! Always look forward to your videos. :)
I recently discovered elasticated trousers and they truly are the most comfortable bottoms in my wardrobe! Thank you for providing us w style inspiration that never compromises on comfort!
Hi from Georgina (UK) In 2019 I watched you a lot and bought so many things for my wardrobe based on your recommendations,I am 62. I enjoyed putting things together and wearing for work and trips to town for coffee! No w I don't go out to work and no trips to town for coffee! I am looking forward to lockdown being over and getting dressed up again! Thank you for your inspiring videos I'm going to shop my wardrobe to see if I have a blue shirt!
I’m so happy that you’re making YT vids again! I always enjoy them so much, and learn from them, too. We all love you because you are not only the most chic, but the most comfortable, practical and real-life stylist. I’m trying to learn Insta so that I can see you there, too, but it’s giving me a dummy-complex, I thought I was a smart person!
Emma, I love your style and your videos very, very much. But most of all, as a teacher of English as a foreign language, I"m a fan of the way you speak. I always watch out for new phrases and idioms, which you use a plethora of to illustrate your points. :-) So, I'm learning so much through your vids, not just style-wise! 😁
She is so articulate, and speaks so slowly and clearly, that she is a great person to learn from, a d what could be more fun than learning a language through fashion styling! Your English is perfect already. 🙂
I love the evolution of your style and move towards more trousers. I think it is a very sophisticated look. You are my main styles inspiration. Thanks for all the wonderful outfits!
Hi Emma, could you do a video on how to tuck different styles of things? Eg full Tshirt tuck, half tuck etc. I’m quite small and find it really hard to neatly tuck in oversized tshirts into fitted trousers without it looking messy!
If you have a shirt (with buttons) I like to leave it open at the bottom part and tuck each side into each leg 😂 if I smooth the wrinkles from shirt on my legs (because I tucked the shirt into them) and then pull up my shirt a bit so that it's not all in my pants - then I always get a perfect look without any wrinkles of material on my stomach/pelvis area English is not my 1st language so I hope that I explained it well 😂
Something I miss is planning my outfits, pre pandemic I used Sundays to do laundry and plan my weekly outfits for work, I can't wait for a "normal" routine again.
Hi Emma, I’m just watching this for the second time, saw it when it was first published & now that we are heading into spring in NZ it’s exactly what I was looking for. I find the planning process makes the whole wardrobe experience so much better, finding inspiration for what we already own & planning our new purchases carefully. I’ve always loved blue jeans & a crisp white shirt but are so evolving much more to soft cottons, linens & trousers rather than jeans. Thanks so much your advice makes so much sense & you articulate it perfectly 😍😘.
This is such a helpful video thanks Emma!! I find planning the things I want to try or buy means I make less of the wrong purchases saving me money and a wardrobe full of ‘never wears’. I started using Pinterest after you suggested it and it makes such a difference! Thanks Emma ❤️
Thanks Emma for pointing out the importance of working with what we have and shopping secondhand first. - so important to do this more and more, if we want become more sustainable and work towards a future where people and the planet thrive.
Really loved this video! 2020 made me realise I have a lot of clothes with nowhere to go and so towards the back end of the year, I started to theme them to try and get more wear out of them, despite working from home and only going out for daily walks / essentials! I’ve not bought any new clothes or shoes this year and am continuing with the themes, I too have plenty of boards on Pinterest and saved pics on Instagram. It’s what inspires me to “shop my own wardrobe” and excites me to plan my outfits! Take care Emma and Simon ❤️❤️
Very helpful video. I have definitely noticed what I want to wear has changed this past year. Shoes: I wear more house friendly shoes, i.e., slip on sneakers and loafers. Handbags: I use them a lot less, and when I do, I want them to big enough to hold extra things like hand sanitizer and masks, also tend to go for nylon or less delicate materials. Jeans: I am actually still wearing them as much as ever, I find they hold up better to having cats on my lap!
There’s a renovation underway on the train network in my city...and extensively at my train station. The pedestrian paths to access it have been closed for a couple of years, and will stay closed for a couple more years. As a consequence, to commute by train I need to amble across a muddy park. This means no shoes in suede, microsuede, easily discoloured leathers or other materials, stiletto heels etc until the footpath is restored!
I absolutely loved this one! You're such a down to earth you tuber and I appreciate it so much. Many you tubers show some ultra luxury/ultra inconvenient solutions that just don't work for day to day life and you're one of the best to show things that can actually work for most of the audience ☺️
I’m also in my 30’s and without realizing it I found in my closet while organizing it that I have more trousers now and I think it’s because of what exactly you said COMFORT! 😂😎 I love your channel and I miss seeing the puppies 🐾
Really been enjoying how informative and insightful your content is. Also love how your style has shifted during this time - taking notes! (BTW your hair is looking so so good!)
100% agree. I do not share items I've been on the hunt for until they are purchased and I am sure they work out for my wardrobe. I don't want to increase competition.
Happy Sunday Emma! Love spending my time watching or chilling with your videos. I think we can all relate to dressing more comfort which I’ve always loved even pre-pandemic, hehe. Thank you for inspiring us with your insights on fashion & just brightening up our days. Stay safe! 💕
I’ve just seen this, UA-cam never notified me you’d posted yesterday, how rude! I totally agree, our style is ever evolving and I’ve definitely noticed you’ve been gravitating to trousers over jeans since last year. Love your tips on thinking and planning, and what I picked up on especially was when you said “spend some time with your wardrobe” which is so true as it’s such an important thing but often we don’t give it enough attention and need to nurture it and like you say fall in love with what you have. I’m making it sound like a relationship but you get the analogy 😂 Lovely to see a new video from you and have a great week ☺️💕
Yes! Can’t wait to see what you find for a black spring long jacket! I feel like I’ve been searching for this for years and just haven’t found the right one 🖤
I found your videos and channel last year searching Levi’s jeans. You will always be such an inspiration for denim looks for me. Now with trousers. I’m starting to buy more trousers.
We're heading into autumn here in Cape Town, but I think the planning process you undergo can be adjusted and used to plan for cooler weather. Thanks, Emma- you're always dropping USEFUL & RELEVANT nuggets of wisdom 🙌🏽
Thank you Emma! As usual, your video is very useful and inspiring (and, yes, you have kept me company during my morning coffee). Thank you, you've been the greatest inspiration for my style and, even though these times are peculiar and I don't get to wear much of the items I own, I still look at them with a different eye. I hope you, Simon and the furbabies are well and wish you all the best. Love from Italy!! 💕

Great video Emma. As others have noted, I absolutely love your hair! Rocking the beach vibes is so beautiful on you. Would love to see a tutorial on how you’re doing your hair these days.
DEAR EMMA---Where have you been??!! I've missed you!!🤗It's 1am here in NYC and I had to stay up and watch; you always have such great tips! I've learned so much from you throughout this pandemic, your videos have definitely helped me streamline my style and take more risks. 😊 Thanks for being so consistent. Can't wait to see your new spring looks! 😘😍🙂
I haven’t been anywhere 🙊 I don’t have a set video schedule any more as mentioned in a video from last Summer, maybe you missed it 😘 So if I don’t post on a Sunday it doesn’t mean something is wrong or that I’ve gone away, I just only film videos when I feel inspired to and when there’s something I want to film ☺️ Creating videos just for the sake of it or to stick to a schedule isn’t fun for anyone, least of all me so that’s why I decided to just do videos as and when I feel inspired to 💞

I hope you're doing well, Emma xx I really enjoy these kind of videos, I find spring time such a hard time to get dressed as we get anything from 4 to 20 degrees!

Great informative video! Still looking for a new white shirt ... Power of My People (Canadian company) does great shirts .. Alyssa Beltempo (u tuber) often wears their shirts if you wanted to see on
Hi Emma. I'm taking the opportunity during 'lockdown' to revamp my style and invest in a few key pieces. I love the first of the white linen shirts you showed! Where can I find this to take a closer look? Thanks.
There is a bag (from Alaïa ) its a leather bag (in Amilia Liana 2 videos back i think her best & worst bags video) i think that could be a summer bag that you would /could think over. I remember that it is a handbag with a shoulderstrap. Have a lovely day 🌻🌻 The Alaïa Mina 20 its that 1. Just had a quick look
As always super inspiring video! I'm turnining 30 next week 😬 and I feel deep down that I need a change in terms of my style and amount of clothes which I buy. So you are a huge inspiration for me! ❤️
Hi Emma, I follow your youtube channel and Instagram account since a few months. Every week I am looking forward your new content. And although I dont understand English well, I try to learn from you. Regards from Spain!
I wasn't looking for a black trench (I was looking for a neutral one) but I found an amazing vintage black Simon Chang trench with a pinstripe lining at the thrift store last year for $20. It still had its original tag on it....how could I say no??? I haven't worn it yet as I am in Canada and it was already too cold for a trench when I found it & we still have snow on the ground & are wearing parkas (or puffer coats) here. However, I will be happy to get it out in about a month!
Hi Emma! You inspired to get me organized on Pinterest and now I also have a shopping/wish list there. I was wondering when you buy an item from your wish list will you delete it from Pinterest board or how you keep your list up to date? Sorry for being to geeky:)
Its not a massive list so is fairly easy to keep on top of and I do try and delete bits once I get them but if I happen to forget a have a purge every now and then 👍
Oh Emma, you had me laughing 😂! When you were talking about colour and how beige is a colour and I AGREE so much. I felt I was right there with you, drinking my tea. These types of videos have helped me so much to be more mindful and thoughtful and then more creative and brave with my wardrobe choices. And none of this has to do with money. Have a great day 😎🇨🇦.
Tickles your pickle 🤣😂😆omg Emma good thing I didn’t have coffee in my mouth when you said that and with such seriousness really need these laughs these days just love you and appreciate you Emma❤️💕
Great and down-to-earth suggestions! Very helpful Looking forward to the next video! I follow you on IG, but your videos are like a little visit 🥰 Hope you, Simon and the B’s have a good week.
I'm the same denim I will always love but I'm not reaching for them. I'm wearing my tailored trousers and only joggers on a Sunday if I'm not leaving the house. I feel chic and comfortable in tailored trousers
I too am a lover color aka black, beige, white, brown and blue 😂😅😅 I’m always made fun of for it but neutrals have my heart 🙈 Are you growing out your hair so that you’re no longer blonde?!
Emma, have you looked at Dragon Diffusion (Matches Fashion, Net-a-Porter) for a summer bag? They have lovely woven leather bags in varying sizes, shapes and colors.

Most brands I wear are available to the US, I think it's only Arket that don't ship there 🙂
I love these smart videos of yours! Thank you! 😍
Hi Emma! You inspired to get me organized on Pinterest and now I also have a shopping/wish list there. I was wondering when you buy an item from your wish list will you delete it from Pinterest board or how you keep your list up to date? Sorry for being to geeky:)
Its not a massive list so is fairly easy to keep on top of and I do try and delete bits once I get them but if I happen to forget a have a purge every now and then 👍
Yes you can never have too many white linen shirts. Thanks for the video.
Love your style, Emma.. Thanks for sharing..
Hello Emma, wounder how you do with linnen shirt, do you iron?
I steam mine but I don't panic too much about the wrinkles as that is the nature of linen and adds to the vibes ❤️
Good tutorial for a lazy Sunday
Great insight in this video, Emma. Yes, comfort is key. 💆♀️ 🔑
🤣 Its THE best colour 🤣 Hope you are having a great day ❤️
Tickles your pickle 🤣😂😆omg Emma good thing I didn’t have coffee in my mouth when you said that and with such seriousness really need these laughs these days just love you and appreciate you Emma❤️💕

I'm the same denim I will always love but I'm not reaching for them. I'm wearing my tailored trousers and only joggers on a Sunday if I'm not leaving the house. I feel chic and comfortable in tailored trousers
👍🏻That’s quite a bit of thought
I’m getting there.
Great video as always! Thank you for your hard work, it helps so many of us. Wish you, Simon and the babies a lovely sunday!

I too am a lover color aka black, beige, white, brown and blue 😂😅😅 I’m always made fun of for it but neutrals have my heart 🙈
Are you growing out your hair so that you’re no longer blonde?!
Not intentionally, it is a lockdown do 🙈 I decided to embrace it as I missed the opportunity to visit the salon when they reopened briefly last year
@@EmmaHill ohhh alright, wow I didn’t realize things were still so intense over seas! I hope they open up soon! Love the curls though 😅
I love to listening to You! greets from Poland;)
Emma, have you looked at Dragon Diffusion (Matches Fashion, Net-a-Porter) for a summer bag? They have lovely woven leather bags in varying sizes, shapes and colors.
I actually have one in tan 👍 Will have to take another look.
I’m in month 13 of lockdown.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
