Such a great video! I love that you spoke about why the older outfits did/didn't still resonate and the swaps you'd make now. It really makes me think about how so much of styling isn't just about the items but how you pair them. Love, love, love this one!
What a great idea for this week’s video Emma. Still showcased your excellent style but full of great ideas (and refreshing honesty about comfortable shoes and tight jeans - thank you!!)... really love the looks in here (original and updates) ❤️❤️❤️
Then and now you still look stylish as ever Emma . Been going through my wardrobe for a de clutter and noticed my colours are mainly navy , blues , grey , white and some stripes with either a dark brown or tan leather bag . It works for me as I don't really suite fussy or floral patterns x
The three color rule is such a great rule and I find myself following it so easily ❤️ I love a neutral color palette and you do it so well 👌 thank you for sharing!
Great video. I’m a newer subscriber but you’ve quickly become one of my favorites. After having a milestone birthday recently and having zero tolerance to being uncomfortable after all the lockdowns where I live I find your style so inspiring. You’re videos are helping me fine tune a happy medium between casual, comfy and chic. Thank you.
Just goes to show you that if you fill your closet with basic, classic shapes and colors, they never go out of style. My guess is you could still be wearing these pieces 5 or 10 years from now and they will STILL be perfect.
I am loving all of your style inspo. I started to switch my wardrobe into a more neutral colour palette and got rid off all the crazy prints i had. Thanks so much Emma, i feel much more put together
Love Love Love this idea....would love to see this as a regular feature as the season progresses to get some ideas of how a few simple switches can update the look without having to buy a whole new wardrobe. Excellent Video
I really REALLY like the format of this video. Shopping your own wardrobe is always inspirational and it's interesting to hear why you've kept/let go of certain items. Again love it!
Great video! Really interesting to see the evolution of what you were wearing and the reasoning behind what worked and you kept. Also the slight adaptations you made are helpful in giving some new ideas in ways I which to switch things up or down. Thank you 😊
Thank you for the styling tips....you're inspiring me to get rid of my trendier items in my closet!! I love how everything is minimalist and everything goes with everything else!!
Such great inspiration. I have many items that are over five years that I still wear. My new trousers with elasticated waists have been a lockdown discovery. It seems that many people have fallen in love with the comfort factor. As always you make all the looks chic, Emma.
I’m halfway through watching but had to pause to say - I love it! What a great idea for a video, I’m definitely going to try this! I’m working at home at the moment, mainly in joggers and t-shirts but it’ll be nice to have some new outfit ideas for when I go back to the office 😊
Thoroughly enjoyed this weeks video. It’s nice to see that all chosen outfits are suitable for any occasion, either dressed up or dressed down, still very smart.
i love this video concept! a few weeks ago i was actually thinking of requesting a "watch me figure out how to pick out pieces for today's outfit" type of video but didn't know if you'd find that film-able. this is sooo much better! please sprinkle these into your content schedule if possible! thanks :)
Great video, load os inspo there. I am slowly replacing my wardrobe with more neutral colours, I am regularly tempted by colours and florals but realise I don't wear them enough, that neutral suits me best. So this year, lots of linen shirts and trousers are being tried out. I am also going to try the 'three colour' rule and see how that works out.
Emma, I love this concept, and I love the fact that you embrace the idea of buying second hand. I do too, as I think fast fashion is terrible for the environment. In any case, I think this is a great idea for a video, very creative, shows us how to adapt our styling and isn't about these everlasting hauls, hauls, hauls! Because so many influencers I used to watch do nothing but buy an ever greater mound of clothes every time, I no longer watch them. Congratulations on your approach!
Loved the video! Such a great idea :) as you have shown a variety of brands that do classic pieces, from high end to high street could you possibly do a video commenting on which basics you would still buy high street - for example if you would still go to HM for a basic white tee, or would you invest in a more luxury one and why? Would you get a bag from a let's say higher end high street like Massimo Dutti or always save more towards a designer item? Sort of like, where and when to compromise and where you think the quality really justifies the higher price point.
This is a BRILLIANT concept. I love seeing outfits with swaps side by side - think I commented something similar on your last video but the variations are truly inspiring as to how to make a few pieces go further! One of the combos might come naturally to me, but the others are outside my comfort zone so it's so helpful to see how I can stretch my style. Really fun to see all the ways your style has evolved and think about the ways mine has alongside it! I found you around 2018 and found your style very aspirational but your style today is more similar to what I actually wear. Anyway...such a big fan, been absolutely loving all the new content!
Oh!! I really loved this video Emma. Great to find inspiration from your oen outfits - even if they’re six years old - it was so fun to watch the new versions of them! ❤️
Really loved this video! Very interesting with great inspiration and ideas - thanks so much for this - it'll be played again several times!! Any idea for a dupe for that MD striped tee? They sell out so fast - that beautiful linen bag (not featured in this video) has also gone - v hard to find good dupes xxx Thanks for the great vid 😍🙌😎
I’ve just seen a very similar one in the Armed Angels newsletter. I’m not sure if it’s a sweat or a t-shirt but it’s long sleeved and has the same stripes 🙌🏼
What a great idea! Gives me major inspo, as I too go for classic looks, and have heaps of things from several years ago that still look good. Thanks Emma, I’ll be trying out lots of your tips!
Love the concept of this vid. I still need to swap part of my winter waredrobe for my spring waredrobe. But the weather has been all over the place. One day I wear a camy the next day a thick knit lol.
This video was a fantastic idea. It has given a classic dresser (me!) a nudge to review my wardrobe and upgrade and modernise a few pieces. Definitely a formula to repeat.
I liked this video, because in my opinion it requested the sustainability of clothes and accessories. I also did some luxury/better quality purchases with sustainability in mind, but somehow also sometimes tended to sell them over the years because they didn‘t fit (my style) anymore because style has evolved. I also see a trend towards comfort here, which can relate to the pandemic and I think will change again as life will open up more in the future. So for me this video reminds me of defining my style and, with every purchase, reasking if the piece will really last for a long time.
This was such a fun and brilliant video. You should do this type of video every season. Love your minimal style (with the exception of the dad sandals 🙊). Great classic pieces that seem to remain in style for many years, even decades. Have a wonderful weekend!
This video is perfection. I have my own sense of style, which is different from yours of course, but everything about this was perfect. Editing, the looks, the voiceover. Super quality video. Thanks, Emma!
I absolutely love your videos. You're very stylish on friendly/ budget wise spending. My problem is that I'm two sizes larger on top than I am on the bottom. Can't help it. All factory equipped. I'm like an upside down triangle. Just the way the Big Guy upstairs made me. Do you have any practical advice for me as far as sizing & style goes. Thanks. 😊
Great video . Currently going through my spring/summer wardrobe trying to make different outfits, enjoying it and finding I can make quite a few and I’m only a 3rd through . Have far too many H&M t shirts that will be going in my sleepwear pile too ! 😄
Really enjoyed today. Liked how you showed a still comparison of the three outfits with 2020 which you dropped on the following ones. More like this please. Xx
Thank you, Emma, that was really great. I am sure I can find similar pieces in my closet and put together comparable outfits for the Spring. I haven't worn sandals yet, although maybe very soon. It is still a bit chilly in Boston, MA USA.
Emm I like your 2016/17 fashion sense more than now. Ofcourse we all change as we grow older. Great content tho. Always love coming back to view your vid
Really enjoyed watching this video Emma. Great to be able to see how your style has changed subtly as a result of our more relaxed lifestyle but still looking chic. Hope you and Simon and the B's have a great week x
Very nice and inspirational! Lovely that you gave several alternatives to style each outfit. Although the 2017 look has no resamblance to the original (!!) I have one question. You seemed to have made several bad soo purchases over the years. Do you now have more knowledge on how to choose comfortable quality shoes than you did before, or is it always by trial and error? Any tips?
The aim of the video wasn’t to completely copy the original video. It was to recreate the look but how I would wear it now. So for 2017 I wouldn’t wear the black blazer and I wouldn’t wear heels so it’s still a shorts, t-shirt and blazer look but it’s styled how I would wear it now ❤️ Oh gosh don’t get me started on shoes 🙈 I’ve made so many mistakes, most of them in my early 20’s but it is very much down to trial and error and also experience. Having said that in my early 20’s I didn’t really care about comfort, I just wanted ‘the look’ so I wore very cheap I’ll fitting shoes all the time. Over time my priorities changed and I just wanted comfort. I’ve also had a lot of changes in my feet which, for example after I ran the London marathon my feet were never the same after and lots of my shoes felt uncomfortable afterwards that weren’t before x
I would love to look back and style myself over those periods - couldn’t anyway totally have a different body shape Emma really enjoyed your outfit updates 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Hi Emma! Would you recommend staying true to size with the Arket blazer or is it worth sizing down? It’s hard to judge how oversized something is! Thank you! Great content as always girl 💜
I love this video. Seeing how style evolves, also to find out where those pieces are now and why 😉 I tend to keep everything and one day take to charity or pass the items off to a friend. Selling to buy is a great concept 🙃 thank you for your ideas 😊
Love it!!! I just don’t want to keep buying new stuff. I also like how you admitted your pants didn’t fit anymore. Just keeping it real! New subscriber!
Great idea for a video! I would like to see an update on your bag collection and your opinion on the new bags around. Love and best wishes from Greece. We have our Easter today.💐🐣
This is so interesting and well made! Also i like it because i was pregnant, than did not fit in many clothes afterwards and then the pandemie hit. So my newest "smart" clothes are from 2018 and I need to see how to wear them now.
I love how even a year ago, what you'd wear and how you'd wear an item has already shifted. Really showcases that style isn't stagnant
Such a great video! I love that you spoke about why the older outfits did/didn't still resonate and the swaps you'd make now. It really makes me think about how so much of styling isn't just about the items but how you pair them.
Love, love, love this one!

I love this Emma! Very creative! It’s not the typical hauls that’s why I will forever follow u!
I love the shop your closet vibe ❤️
I really REALLY like the format of this video. Shopping your own wardrobe is always inspirational and it's interesting to hear why you've kept/let go of certain items. Again love it!

You need to do older outfits like 2007 + :')
Exactly 😂

BRILLANT! your style and presentation 👌! Love the fact you have added text as you go through each outfit idea 💡!

Thank you for showing how style transitions!
I love how you accept that a pair of jeans doesn’t fit you comfortable anymore!🥺
Love love love all the outfits. So creative with going back through the years and recreating the pieces!
Love the styling and restyling of your current pieces!
You and Sophie S are my absolute favourite vloggers . Love your honesty and your humor .

A lovely example through Emma's creativity of how our personal styles subtly evolve, great video x
Love the concept of this vid. I still need to swap part of my winter waredrobe for my spring waredrobe. But the weather has been all over the place. One day I wear a camy the next day a thick knit lol.
I know, the weather here has been just the same. Nice one day, frost and chilly the next. I wish it would make up its mind 🙈🤣

im obsessed with every look !
A great idea for a video which works so well. I love all the options you give too. You’ve smashed it again Emma. 😊
This video is genius!!! I’d love to watch a series of it
I loooooove your hair Emma!!! Seriously 😎🖤
I loved this video! Great idea recreating old outfits. And I loved your hairstyle in 2019... that chic bob style is super flattering.
Thanks. 😊
All I could say is make sure you are comfy with what you wear and as long as you are happy that is all that matters. ❤️
Great video . Currently going through my spring/summer wardrobe trying to make different outfits, enjoying it and finding I can make quite a few and I’m only a 3rd through . Have far too many H&M t shirts that will be going in my sleepwear pile too ! 😄

Wooa súper practico todo como siempre y lo más básico que tenemos todas a la mano me encanto 😍
Great idea for a video. I have my 'what to wear' ideas for the week! Thanks as always.
Loved this! I would really enjoy seeing more as a series or something.
Thank you, Emma, that was really great. I am sure I can find similar pieces in my closet and put together comparable outfits for the Spring. I haven't worn sandals yet, although maybe very soon. It is still a bit chilly in Boston, MA USA.

Hi Emma! Would you recommend staying true to size with the Arket blazer or is it worth sizing down? It’s hard to judge how oversized something is! Thank you! Great content as always girl 💜
It would really depend on how oversized you want the fit but for me I sized down 1 size to get the right oversized feel/vibe 👍
Thank you! Xx
Thank You for Sharing this Video so Helpful for putting pieces in my closet together. For different looks
Cool idea! Really enjoyed watching it!
I love this video. Seeing how style evolves, also to find out where those pieces are now and why 😉 I tend to keep everything and one day take to charity or pass the items off to a friend. Selling to buy is a great concept 🙃 thank you for your ideas 😊
