Here's the mkii / mk2 or version 2 (call it what you want!) Music Thing Modular - Spring Reverb. It's a fantastic 6HP Spring Reverb module that has RCA connectors for a Spring tank around the back of the module or has them on a breakout expander which also let's you blend between the tank signal and the accutronics digital brick (which you should also buy, with the expander, as blending a tank with that is great!) The module also has a tilt EQ function that adjusts the signal into the reverb to adjust the tone and response (heavy bass transients can make those springs slap around) as well as a fully WET output and feedback input for creative patching, a XFADE input.

When this was announced, I thought, "well, that's a pretty boring module -- usually the MTM stuff is so cool." Never mind, this is brilliant.
Yeah as brilliant as other stuff even if seemingly simpler on the front of it.
Thinking about building a modular home? No, youtube, I'm not. But thanks for the highly relevant ad XD
haha go google ad algorithms!
"More cavey" is exactly how I think of the brick sound compared to spring tank. :)
Was so pleased when this was released. I'd pestered Thonk for a Mk1 restock (or to get Befaco's Spring reverb in) literally three days before this was announced.
Nice upgrades on this. I still have a mk1 with the digital brick in another case.
sold. I was looking at this kit on thonk the other night..
thanks for the demo.
nice one.
You must have read my mind, just ordered the MTM reverb this morning
Hey Matthew good purchase! How are you finding it?
Will be building it over the holiday with the MTM chord organ, so not tried it yet, but looking forward to playing
Was hoping you'd review this! Thanks!
I asked Steve at Thonk and as always he's incredibly supportive and was up for it so here we are. Lovely modules from Tom at Music Thing too.
Fantastic video, cheers.
great thanks!
Can the inputs easily be overdriven? This is one of the things I love about spring reverb boxes, especially on the EMS Synthi.
yes you can make it as dirty a you like, awesome module. I build 2, will also add the extenders and 2 bricks. Istant buchla, synthi bleeeeeep
This could work with a plate as well as a tank, no?
Nice. Would like to have a go at building this. I’ve bought some cheap arse Tuesday soldering kits for a bit of practice. I never knew about the tank thing though. Where do you get those? And how do they connect to the module?
Tanks connect via RCA connectors on the back or on the expander as shown here. What are "Tuesday soldering kits"? The kit and the tanks/parts are all available through thonk.co.uk
Ah I see. I knew proper (analogue) spring reverbs had actual springs in them. But I assumed this kit was a digital spring reverb. I could get a small tank & sit it behind my desktop rack connected to the Spring Reverb module . The Happy Ending kit is open backed so it's perfect for this.
Thanks for the Thonk link. I've not stumbled across this site before. EDIT: Actually I think I have been on the site before when checking the Danny Thru Zero Osc. I just didn't look beyond that page! Some excellent projects on there. Very cool.
I've been checking out the kits on Music Thing Modular. The cheap kits I bought were just to get a bit of soldering practice. Cost me about $12 for 2 kits from here;

oh there is the digital brick from accutronics as well. That connects round the back of the module. Blending that and the real spring tank is great.
You'll find a lot of synth DIY and related things on Thonk.
I do know those practice solder kits, good way to have a go with a soldering iron if you've never done it before.
Do you have any opinions on how this compares to the befaco spring reverb?
Hi Benjamin, I haven't tried the Befaco so can't comment. But their gear is good quality.
What is the reverb lenght of the brick? Thanks!
Not sure to be honest. But it's between 2 and 3 seconds - www.accutronicsreverb.com/main/?skin=sub01_05_1.html
