His play style only works when there are comms. Nothing wrong with that, but in metal ranks there is zero comms so he is just going to get left out to dry in all of his games. He needs to have a little more caution to his own self-preservation. He won't have the lucio speeding him out and the bap always using the immortality correctly in plat. That's why he's stuck.
Your analogy kind of makes no sense given he’s playing in the metal ranks currently with no comms.
So the higher he gets and there are comms the better it’s going to be for him.

I dont really think its comms, its how good the supports are. His play style is pretty much get pocketed and hope for the best. Most supports in plat are not going to be able to keep him alive
My gm matches don't do comms I just do my best to win while the others do their own thing which works

GM Tank here: Expand your hero pool and you're fine. Picking up Winston and Orisa will round out your hero pool pretty nicely imo. Rein just doesn't work on many maps in the game and peopel know it.
Dude, I felt the ping; you tried firing striking a turret AFTER it was destroyed. Definitely a ping issue, Diamond rank at LEAST

The fact that jays chat switches at the end on the plat rein because of a mistake its crazy ,it was a clear team diff and that guy should be higher than plat . Do more plat players ,plat is mixed with either cracked people or terrible
Ehhh, maybe diamond. The guy's got shield phobia and a severe case of swing-ious.
He'll have problems climbing at his current skill unless he's got a pocket.
That being said, he's got a good mentality, and that's the most important thing when it comes to improving.

Honestly it looked like he got carried a bit that first game. He made some great plays and diff'd the other Rein in parts but not enough to win like that. I love aggro Reins but let's not pretend they aren't boom/bust. His playstyle fits Cloudy probably more so than any other content creator I've seen so he should pay attention when Cloudy goes full aggro and when Cloudy holds/retreats. Cloudy plays a smart aggro playstyle. And while this guy also appears to be smart it looks like aggro leads the charge more times than not. He's got a playstyle you can easily punish. As the video went on I could predict his moves very reliably. Once he gets that under control I think he has the ability to not only climb but climb fast.
I'm surprised is the only comment one this! This was a team diff 100% especially the supports. It didn't show in the final stats but they weren't good/unlucky
Despite key problems like lack of shielding and only one hero really, he absolutely held his own in the lobby and even made some great plays and comms. Definitely did not seem like a plat player.
I doubt masters players go for the pin after a shatter and rarely use shield but touche.
@@DyingBreed8 sue to rank inflation and the game being free all the ranks took a down grade in quality so I often DO see this behavior his comms and awareness seem good he just has the problem of not being able to adjust to what his team needs they need to adjust to him
I think when you find someone that is a talented as Kacks you should get a top level rien to chat with him and give him a few tips and tricks that would further elevate his gameplay.
That’s a sick idea tbh. Kacks is definitely better then plat if he had some tips from a pro he could easily iron out those small mistakes

You need a tank with high mobility on numbani defence because your supports are probably going to want to spread across the high ground and the tank needs to be able to peel for them. If the tank can’t move between point and high ground quickly, the moment the enemy team push the tank to drop, the supports are vulnerable.
I hate Numbani Point A - both attack and defence.

SO impressive out of of Kaks. If he remembers that he IS the choke for his team, and that it's his job to create and hold space for his team, CREATING OPPORTUNITY for THEM to make plays, and not always make the plays himself, he can climb very fast. Tank is a selfless role. Overall, we found him.

Plat players are not consistently capable of making plays substantial enough to warrant this guy drastically changing his playstyle imo, been a plat player (what I deserve) for years and I know for a fact this guy is way better than me

I think this guy just had really good supports in the first game. I think they could make it to diamond but unless they start playing more like a tank I don't see them progressing much further.
Yeah, he did well on kings row because a long sighted Map less Flankers + supports who can handle themselves
But on numbani he completely let's a dva kill his supports and not looking back, he dives and feeds. Last fight doesnt use ult, on lijiang he wastes ult. Doesn't use sheild or pin on ulting reaper just dies and his teammates stuck without him, hyperfocuses on kills doesn't look back to see if team needs him
@@aceofpuritywith that mentality that u just described, i would imagine he could be a monster with a dive tank like doom, ball, dva, etc the problem is that him playing rein is a handicap in the sense that team comps around rein are more team cooperatively focused and not so much let the tank dive in and pick off a straying dps or support, i share the same opinion as u but to me its the tank specifically that doesnt match his mentality
The sole thing keeping this guy from climbing, is discipline. And mind, many people correlate discipline with playing more defensive - but discipline at its core is all about understanding priority and value. His playstyle is great for ladder play and climbing, and what he needs is the mental discipline of prioritizing what value to aggressively pursue.
For example, discipline of paying attention to enemy intentions ahead of team fights, so he doesn't get walled by Mei every fight and his Bap has to waste lamp early. Discipline to check enemy Rein position and ult track, so he isn't miles deep in the enemy team 1v5 leaving his entire backline open for ez enemy shatter, etc. Discipline of understanding how to be aggro when he doesn't have a Masters lvl Lucio player speeding him around and also actively comming to tell their intend 24/7. All of this he should be able to accomplish on his own, in a lobby of no comms, with subpar team mates. He must have the discipline to know what value to pursue and when to do it.
High effort comms filled custom lobbies like this one will always provide a far better foundation for good plays than a random rng rank lobby ever could. But it's the rng rank lobby he's trying to climb from, not the custom perfect setup one.
This is NOT solo queue, this rein is not meant to be Masters. He's Plat 1 tops. He charges in LOS of everyone taking a shittone of damage, his Baptiste might deserve Grandmaster to be fair because he saved him 1000 times. Same as Lucio. When 5 people are communicating and know your intent and understand it AND not second-guess it, then sure you're gonna have a great time. But try this in solo queue, he would be 4/18 with 6k damage max.
As a Rein main myself it is obvious that this Reinhardt player has good mechanics and understanding of Rein's playstyle. He held his own well in the mirror against his masters counterpart.
The problem occurs when we see him on maps that do not favor Rein. It appears that his hero pool is lacking and that will sadly keep him in lower ranks even if his *Reinhardt play* is deserving of a higher rank.
In a game where there is only 1 tank flexibility is king. It doesn't matter if your winrate on king's row and Lijang are 90% if you're going to be queuing into an insta-loss everytime you land on Numbani and Gibraltar.
I'm not sure he deserves masters with his rein plays. The first thing I noticed is he doesnt really know how to swing optimally. As a masters rein main, he never jiggled his camera on the left and the right to be able to reach further. That's the biggest give away he doesnt deserve a masters rank even with his rein plays. If I saw him in my games I would know it would be a win just by looking at his lack of "jiggling" (lmao)
@@nicolasgagnon8738 I was about to say that too, he also had 0 game sense to keep track of the enemy rein so he wasn't "holding his own" against the rein mirror, he got verryyyy lucky with his supports with his aggressive play style. So far into watching the video he has barely shielded any damage for his dps when holding corners or key spots, he hasn't blocked a single shatter and he keeps pinning into poor areas. He deserves plat

@@nicolasgagnon8738 He charged at the rein with a bastion in turret form right behind the enemy rein, he should have died there but the supports bailed him out once again and Jay and the twitch chat was going crazy like he did something amazing. As a masters rein player I personally would not be charging into the direction of a supported bastion in turret form like that.

His biggest issue is that because he's stuck in Platinum, he can abuse aggressive gameplay in lobbies that generally don't expect tanks to be that aggressive.
He carried that over in game 1 but to his favour.
The other games, he got diffed hard by the opposing tank and DPS.
KAKS lacks adaptability. The enemy team knew to switch things up but he kept forcing Reinhardt and it ended up being his downfall.
If he can just learn to swap and adapt where needed and combine that with his game-sense, he could easily hit Masters.
He never got "diffed hard" by the other tank but yes he does lack adaptability. His rein deserves a higher rank but in general if he can't play other tanks he's stuck.
@@Xerkuo being an OTP on tank is usually unsustainable, unless ball. Ball can always work, balls downfall is more often the team playing too slowly not the enemies counterswapping. ''ON LADDER''
I lack a shit ton of adaptability, so this was a good learning experience for me, I have 5 hours on tracer, my next hero has 30 mins or something, i am also stubborn as hell, so the more I seen people mention adaptability, the more I am convinced, appreciate the advice

I don't know why some people are saying he deserves to be higher than plat. If anything, this video proved he deserves his rank. Yeah, he did well on game one, but only because he had a good team and his supports constantly bailed him out when he got in sticky situations, especially Lucio. Look at the second game. Disastrous comms, wasted half the game playing Reinhardt, didn't even know what to do when he went Dva. And when he lost the first round, he barely tried and went Rein again. He has virtually no hero pool, of course that with this he'll never be able to adapt to the people in his ELO, and by extension, never climb. He deserves his rank.
Not in elo hell, he is stuck exactly where he belongs. He isn't bad as Rein, and his hyper aggression and no shield will work on some maps that Rein is good at, but when he gets maps that are not good for Rein, he is outplayed and doomed. If you rank individual games, he will rank high on some maps and low on other. But you can't choose to play only certain maps.
Little did Jay3 know that 2 Months later he would get diffed by Kaks on Watch Point Gibralter in this video ``I Secretly SMURFED in a GOLD Scrim in Overwatch 2 (THEY HAD NO IDEA!)``🤣
He plays so aggressively that plat healers probably can't keep up with his style.

What happens if other team stayed bastion? Or other tank switched to ram or orisa?
I think hes better than some plats but not better than plat.
I really think the ping was hurting him more than originally thought. On Lijiang, for example, he had a lot of interesting charges that seemed like a whole second or two late. And on Numbani, I can't imagine why he would've deliberately NOT used his ult when demeched at the end of the round, so I think ping probably messed up the timing of hitting Q. I (NA) sometimes play with my EU friends, and the increased ping can sometimes really throw you off. Sometimes I just straight up don't queue dps when playing with EU people (I'm a support main and my dps is mid at best normally lmfao).
This guy has amazing charisma and shot-calling, and paired really well with that Lucio on Kings Row (who had some amazing beats).
I think his losses were a combination of the following: ping, team synergy diff (you're going to be hella lucky if you find a comp game with comms/teamwork like that Kings Row even once a week nowadays), and obviously map diff. Kings Row is favorable to Rein. Numbani is not. He should have gone Winton or something much sooner on Numbani, but tbh he probably gave himself and his team too much benefit of the doubt in being able to pull off that necessary rotation to high ground with Rein.
Anyway I think he can climb 100%.

To be honest, I feel like he did very well for being a Plat player, I definitely think he deserves the rank up, his coms and aggressiveness are solid, he can definitely learn to play a bit more passive at times, but he did the most he could for the 2nd team, I barely heard much from the 2nd team in terms of comms, and I can tell it was definitely a team diff. See this is exactly how I play Rein too, but I get told I’m “off doing my own thing” or “not helping the team” but I’m literally telling my team here’s what imma do.
Feel like this guy is playing as a 3rd dps rather then tanking for his team (this is coming from a fellow hard stuck plat Tank)
Id say he is low to mid diamond , he needs to get pumped with constant heals like the first game to win, and only seen 1 significant shatter out of 3 games
It’s really simple! He deserves low elo, because he is not a difference maker, meaning if his team wins a fight it’s not because he did smth but his teammates

Other than the fact that he needs to use his shield more, I think he needs to pay more attention on tracking the enemy’s ult, especially rien/tank ult. Also he needs to be more aware on there important abilities for example mei wall ana sleep and nade to avoid them.

I think I’m a really good Reinhardt too, but what I’ve learned is that Reinhardt needs communication between his teammates. He’s one of the heroes that actually requires a lot of controlling of your teammates ults and when to aggro and when to back out.
I'm curious, is it that in Plat because of his aggressive play style not many people he's getting on his team are not very good with an aggressive playstyle and unable to support Rein? I know I've been on teams with an aggressive Rein and we demolish the enemy team but then I get a team that can't handle pushing in with the Rein and are very passive. It also is a pain when they one trick and can't play heros according to the map. Like if you're stuck in an elo, playing 1 character, maybe it's time to learn more characters and adapt?
He got lucky that both team decided to play along him with a full brawl comp. In a regular queue, that will not happen frequently simply because some people like me aren't brawlers. On DPS, I play heroes like Cass, Soldier, and Hanzo. While on support, I play most of the time Ana, Baptiste and Kiri. If he play with people like me, that playstyle simply won't work. I certainly won't be in the ring brawling with him, and + this guy seems to not use his shield at all. Which is pretty bad considering I need temporary cover with these heroes. And this is coming from someone who is diamond 4 in both roles

I was hard stuck plat for so long back in OW1. The new ranked system with shitty matchmaking didn't help, but I started queing with my friends who are Masters and Diamond elo. We literally win almost every single game, and I am no crutch. I pull MORE than my own weight, and do significantly well for a "Plat player". I started playing on my friends accounts and quickly got more than one role through Plat and into Diamond. I am finally making progress. So yes elo hell is real, but just on my main account LOL
Max PLAT is no way better ... if you play like this in plat your team will flame you. You forget his team is way better than plat, and they play around him even if he never blocks dmg.
You said it, he def needs to shield more. He had some really good opportunities too and just never did.

I got 11 hours in Reinhardt, second to brig at 13hr, the only thing Kaks did better than I was communication. Platinum is generous.

@@ryanmccarthy7572Especially since the enemy bastion on KR wasn't pressuring kaks very much. If you notice, there are times when the enemy rein couldn't play the game bc I was shredding him, and so kaks had all the space in the world without much use of his shield

Yeah, he didnt cover for his team when they transitioned multiple covers at the start of Round 2 Kings Row. Legit, teammates will die because you didnt shield for a few seconds at high rank.

The reason why he cancels his pins on those lucio pins, is bcause he has high ping and thinks he misses his pin, so he cancels to get the swing damage. Thats a ping dif, not a rein mistake.

Honestly there are a ton of good players in every tier, the difference is usually that the higher you get the less mistakes you make and the more you communicate.

He plays like the rein in the lore, and in kings row he did a better job but it showed a lot of weakness on the other maps. Once he finds a good balance, he’ll be really good-and he definitely made a few mistakes with charges and shatters that cost the team for sure, but that could be attributed to ping so I won’t critique any of those atm

The only reason he stuck in elo hrll is bc he doesn’t use shield and mostly relies on his supports but since this is master the supports are better so he can actually play like this
based on these few games he did fine for a plat especially that first game, he could probably hit diamond but then again, if others could solo climb out of plat, or even me then why he cant? it just makes sense to climb if you diff enemy plat tank every game, but maybe he just struggles when its not rein map or perfect comp for rein like in the first game

used to level up lots of accounts, and it was hard to learn to turn down the tempo & aggression on tanks --feeding to take space that metals wont even be aware to use, while they 4 man stack cart making it move that 30% faster.
Tbh i feel that his aggression is only permissible when he has those great heals. Good comms and atuff though, but he needs to shield more, def.

I think lower rank reins are used to being aggressive asf and not really needing their shield. Allies just pocket the tank and the enemy team panics and fights about how good the rein is lmao
I do like his aggressive playstyle but the MIT, predictable hammer down, and his lack of tank pool adaptability will as most keep him at diamond at best
Not using shield and not swapping isnt the main issue.
Positioning/ playing the objective and playing atound ennemies cooldowns is what you need to work on.
Change your perspective that you need to catch kills to playing for space. Doing so will make you understand a lot better that you can commit/slowly push instead of afk at choke and then charge into them. By pressuring pushing to hold space will allow you to see clearly how easy it is to punish players using their cds being out of position.
So simply put, play for space and dont waste your cooldowns. Your gameplay will look calmer and smooth. You will realize how you are getting kills without dying at all.
Watch top1 rein getting there in challenge not using shield once. Its all about positioning and cooldown management
12:11 this right here is what sets him as a plat and not higher, had plenty of time to react, had a full health shield, team all grouped on cart yet he doesn't put shield facing up to block the bastion ult damage which ends up killing him. This twitch guy was overhyping the rein way too much, he has potential but from what I saw he deserves the plat rank.
I think this was a moment where his ping diff was showing. I feel like the ping was actually pretty problematic, it just was more apparent on the losses.

Mei and bastion are 2 amazing counters for rein and he still did quite good no cap
good supports can fix tank mistakes like charging the enemy while they have a turret bastion. he's better than plat but won't make it to masters without improvement in gamesense and hero flexibility

Reinhardt I think is... kind of terrible right now. He gets beat up so often by multiple DPS and Zen is played much more often now, not to mention the other Tanks themselves. I mostly play Sigma now and have had multiple deathless games/rounds in comp around that level.
Things to get better at: Shield more for your teammates. If you play support a lot, you know what it's like to be on your own after the Tank leaves you to DPS during a team fight, ESPECIALLY Reinahrdt. If you keep track of the kill feed and know your team is ahead, you can straight up stop DPSin' as Rein and hold shield for your teammates to kill or supports to heal. It's often way better because Rein's swings are slow and even if you can kill them in 2-3 swings, it's like 10 seconds the enemy killing your teammates. Better to have more teammates alive for tempo.
Charges were pretty bad, specifically after shatter. You could swing hammer to a better charge position and then charge. You didn't charge the stunned enemies out of your teammates shooting which was good.
Learn corner swings for Rein and know which side the hammer is going to swing on so you can get faster hits in. This is essential at higher levels so you can get kills faster and DPS before the enemy supports can heal them up or Moira fade. It makes a huge difference.
You can't really one-trick tanks anymore in OW2 and for sure can't do it as Reinhardt ** I posted this and then saw Joystick and another at Rank 21/22 only Rein.

i get how this guy feels, im a high gold/ plat rein, i feel like my team is bringing me down with bad plays and no comms cus whenever i play with my teammates(who are high silver but have good comms and listen to me) we constantly stomp games but then the elo i get from those is taken when i dont play with them cus they only play for a couple hours and i get matched with the people with no comms, or people trolling/throwing
what a great experience! super fun and wholesome. i learned quite a bit from playing
but girls dont play OW2 tho

The problem with him is the sentence "my reinheardt is one you want to have"... That's the reason he's plat, no one wants a rein on their team in overwatch 2.
Comms were def top tier, that's prob why he's stuck plat. Nobody talks in plat. His play style is very aggressive which needs comms, or a very synergized team. He plays very well though. Could def climb higher than plat
I recently got into masters but never had a lucio/bap or ana i always got moira and mercy
On the contrary I'm a silver/gold player in diamond for dps. I ended ow 1 with silver for dps. Suddenly in ow 2 I climbed to diamond 3. Now I'm stuck in diamond for past 2 seasons. I ll be the first to admit that my mech skills are silver rank, and when there s a phar mercy I can't deal with them as a hitscan. It becomes less enjoyable now that I cant dominate my games.
elo hell isn't real, if anything it's easier to climb than ever. If you are better than ppl at your rank, you'll rank up.
