WOW!!!! Great job Stacy!! Looks so much better!! Very Creative!!!
Thanks! I still love it!
What a transformation. Great job
Thank you! 😊
Velcro sheers! Why didn’t I think of that!? Weekend project coming up!
This made it brighter nice work.
Awesome video, love the headboard as well !!
Thanks so much...it really brightened the bedroom and tied all of it together.
What shades do you have in your trailer?
The ones that came with the RV. We have not changed them out. Not sure of them brand though.
Awesome window toppers , great job!
I plan on doing it to our RV.
You will love them!!!
Love them!
Here a cheap for TV it call ROKU you buy it it use wireless internet then you just pay for internet
We have been looking into the Roku......thank you.
good job
Love the updated valances! Not all my projects turn out quite right, either. haha! Genius on the velcro curtains!! I'm going to do a blog post for my website on ideas for the bedroom. Would you let me use a photo of yours (with photo credit to you of course)? I could also link to this video if you'd like.
Thanks and absolutely!! Just let me know what you need! I am happy to email a few pics if you need them.
Definitely would love a photo of that headboard! And if you have another angle you'd like, that would be great too. You can send them to julie@chickerystravels.com and let me know how to credit you (i.e., your name, UA-cam channel).
No problem Julie. I will send the email out as soon as we get back to the rig! Thanks.
Hello... I was hoping you could let me know where you bought that fabric? I’d love to do two of my valences with that pattern. Thank you in advance.
I actually took that down from my dining room before selling the house. I ordered it online years ago and I am sorry to say I dont know where I purchased them.
You, Me & the RV ahh, yeah I figured online.
I went t9 quite a few hobby lobbies and Joan fabrics. Haha
But thank you so much for replying.
How much fabric did you need to do the valances and headboard?
Not sure exactly, it was two of our kitchen curtain panels we had.
HooooYahh Navy! ⚓️⚓️⚓️ Love how you brightened it up. I am working my valances soon. I have gray n dark gray everywhere so... time to Lighten and brighten! Thx for sharing!
Curious question, why did you wrap the board in batting?
Nice video but LOUD music is sooo not necessary
Fast forwarding through what you are actually doing on the cornice box didn't help me......
Wrap like a present and staple with batting first and then fabric.
A little more direction as you did this would be nice
Have you guys tried straight talk we have straight talk it works every where in the United States he is a retired truck driver so we have tried other cell phones vireszone an but we get really good reception with straight talk
First off you and your hubs are two of our favorites to watch. We have a 2017 tiffin allegro 32SA. We ha e the exact valances as you do and they drive me crazy. I started taking them down this week and recovering. Can you say staples? Holy Hannah.
I have two questions. 1. Did you add any extra support when you put them back on the wall? Without the legs of the valance the small ones only have ONE “L” clamp holding it to the wall.
2. Is there a sticky Velcro that sticks to fabric or do I have to sew the Velcro on.
I don’t do anything crafty so this is been to me. I do love my first finished one. Crossing my fingers.
Thanks for your help and all your great videos.
~Dusti
Hey Dusti. Ours are held in place with screws in the top of the valance box where it attaches to the underside of the cabinet. We sewed the velcro to the sheers and stapled the other side to the back of the box where the valances will go.
Really good idea and nice job.
NICE! Did you replace the original blinds with the roller shades? If so, can you share what brand/model you found? I am wanting to replace mine. :) Thank you, and happy trails!
No, the roller shades came with the RV.
Ok, thank you for letting me know. Happy Trails!@@todayissomeday
I love the fabric. Do you have a link or suggestion of where to shop for curtains as fabric?
Stacy bought the fabric in 2012 from Joanes Fabric in SA. But any fabric store should be a good start.
I like them but you lose a lot of light blocking in the bedroom. Need a dark room to sleep so I’m still looking for another idea. Maybe with darker or thicker material on the sides. Hmm.
We haven't noticed that much light coming in. Our bedroom is pretty dark. You could put a backing on the white fabric to help with the light for sure.
Hello, what year is your 33AA, can't find it on your videos
2016
@@todayissomeday thank you, love your channel and rv. Have 7 years to get on the road. Navy also. Hope it all settles down by then. Maybe on road sooner if can fully have internet
I'm wanting to do the same but the other half thinks that too much light will be let in thru the sides and there will be a loss of privacy. Did you experience this or regret removing the sides of the valance?
Nope! We still love them
The window crank arm is made into the window box. Did you have to remove the crank arm from yours. I want to remove mine, but hesitat, due to not wanting to destroy the ability to ope nd clise rhe windows. Help!!!
Our rig does not have a crank. And I have to say I would never remove it due to safety concerns.
Thanks for your feed back. Its the lever that you turn to open and close the windows. Thanks again. Loved your revisions. Thinkn bout adding a headboard to our bed. I'll have to see if there's room. The emergency exit is directly behind our bed. But it would sure help block out the sun. Looking forward to future advice.
You are cute , thanks for the info you made it look easy
Glad it was helpful!
Where did you find this print?
We bought it 14 years ago at a fabric store.
What you did is beautiful! We have a fifth wheel and all the decor is brown brown brown. You have given me some really great ideas. Thanks for sharing your creativity.
I completely removed the boxes from every window (and burned them), replaced with light weight home style curtains, sewed them myself. Looks much better and opened the view, as the entire window is usable now. I kept the plastic day and night blinds, as they do not block any view when not used.
Why are women never satisfied?
Great job! Beginning to recover/revamp all the window boxes in our Tiffin 36QSA. I know you had someone do the shears for you. Could you please ask her the width of fabric she used? Thanks. See you on the road!
Love the print. Hope I can get the hubby to assist changing mine when I find a great print like yours
How did you do the headboard trim at the top? Is it one continuous piece of fabric you stapled and then covered with the roping or two pieces of fabric? I have been trying to find a video of one this shape being recovered as mine is the same but been unable to find one. Any advice on how to do it would be appreciated. Yours looks great 👍
How many yards of fabric did you use? Absolutely beautiful job!
I love the fabric. And using a curtain you like makes perfect fabric. It brighten up the look. And the look is very nice. Leslye
Thanks! I love that I could bring a piece of my home into the home on wheels!
Vast improvement! The original was too much like a dark cave and overly masculine dynamic. Very nice job, and love the velco solution for the sheers!
LOVE LOVE LOVE the new boxes and that headboard WOW!!! Love your channel btw!!
Thank you ChloeBelle2! I loved making the RV feel like home. We are still trying to figure out how to be natural behind the camera but we are having fun doing it! A blooper reel will be coming soon since we seem to make so many! lol Thanks for watching.
Wow that is amazing. Very sharp. Was not sure I was going to like them but they turned out really nice. The head board is a very nice touch as well two thumbs up.
Working to Relax Thanks! We love it. I was hoping it would feel more like home.
You, Me & the RV I hope it dose cause it looks very homey.
I can’t wait to redo mine!!! Thank you for sharing😊
Great job on the valances and headboard! Really brightened everything up! New subscriber here.
Thanks so much and welcome!
I love the valance fabric you used!! Could you tell me where to find it? And what kind of fabric it is? Is it a heavier near-canvas type fabric?
Good morning, Joni. Stacy found the fabric at a fabric store 10 years ago and can't remember where. It is a heaviers canvas type fabric.
Nice job! It’s much brighter and having your own touches really helps giving your place a home feeling.
I love it and it is a piece of my old sicks and bricks! Thanks
Live the idea but what blinds did you use. Did they come with your RV or do you of a place where I could get them . Thank you
The blinds are the original that came with the rig. We just put them back in place.
Cute ! Love the Velcro idea on the shears. I’m in the process of redoing my window treatments. Thanks for sharing.
Love the fabric choice - really brightened it up in there!
Yes! Thank you!
Thank you for idea of redoing my window boxes!! I’m working on redoing the full einterior, walls, floors etc. the aged look was hard to deal with at 26 years old!!
I love the look of the shears. But I'm a little hesitant to use them as I don't always drive with the AC on. Have they held up good for you?
We still have the blinds. We only removed the side of the box
I absolutely love what you have done. Can you tell me where you purchased your fabric? I would love to use the same for my RV. Thanks!
We actually bought that fabric in 2010 from a local store. Have no idea from where though.
This is what I want to do in our older RV... Thanks for the demo!
Do you think it is possible to shorten the hight of the valance and still hide the blinds /shades? I love that you guys changed this I don't think I have seen an RV or camper with window treatments that are not in the way of viewing the window.
I am not sure if it would. Ours is about a inch or so lower than the blinds.
I've decided to do this but I have question before I fully commit. How hard was it to get the ends around the corners smooth with no puckers. Thanks 😊
Not too hard. My Staple gun was used a lot. Just smooth out a section and staple it, then smooth out another spot and staple. You can't see the staples behind the boxes. Good luck.
@@todayissomeday ok thanks. Funny I'm sitting here watching your newest video now
Like the original better but nice work doing things your way
Wonderful ideas and tutorial. Thanks
That was a brilliant idea to put the velcro on the shears to install them. That headboard looks awesome. What a difference the light fabric makes. I just don’t get it why the RV manufacturers are doing such dark colors. Looks great!
Thanks so much! Me either!
Just found you guys. we have a few questions, military related. What is the best way to contact you? thanks and liking the videos.
I responded on fb
This is amazing job of what are you doing with your RV and I do hope visiting me as I love friends with you guys to show me entirely your RV, lol (=laughing out loud).
Thanks.
Beautifully done
They look great!!
By far...a FAVORITE for me. Shows me as easy update to old, tired decor. Thanks Stacy.
Thanks! Anyone can do it!
Very nice. You made it look easy. Getting ready to recover our headboard, too, and change curtains to lighten up the bedroom in soft blues. Also removing sliding mirrored closet doors and replacing them with shear light textured fabric. Prefer a full length mirror on the bedroom door instead. Thanks for the inspiration to get started.
Love this idea. I wouldn’t think it was a DIY project. Thx
You can totally do it!
Great Job !
looks fabulous ... its a goal... my husband is just shaking his head ....
You can do it!!!
I recovered my headboard too. Yours looks great!!!!
Thanks! It is much better than boring brown and tacky animal print!
So excited and encouraged and inspired! I'm excited to not be afraid to make some changes to make it more my own. One question - how do you hang things on your walls? You have some beautiful items on your kitchen walks: how did you secure them to the wall and not damage the wall and also secure items so as to handle the drive down the road? Thank you!
Everything hangs with 3M tape. Although, the plate comes down while driving.
Beautiful job putting your own personal touches.
Thank you. I love the color!
Your fantastic finishing touches make it YOUR home! Great step by step video. Thank you.
Brendan & Lena
Why do people feel the need to put unrelated music into RV videos? And when they do, why do they make it so much louder than the dialog? None of my devices have a mute button, and it takes time to turn the music off, then back on when I think that you are talking again. I know that I would rather hear nature sounds or anything other than unrelated music, especially when it's too loud. Some people even play music while they are talking making it very difficult to understand what they are saying.
I so agree.
Thanks for the great tips and renovation ideas! We started from you guys first videos and we are gonna binge watch them all!
Thanks for the support! Good luck with your renovations!
Prior to viewing this video, I had watched other videos of yours where I noticed your window coverings. I was quite impressed and liked them very much. I thought to myself, "thank goodness at least one RV interior designer had some design sense and could produce a clean, sophisticated, understated yet elegant look." I had no idea you designed these yourself. I think Tiffin (and Newmar for that matter) should hire you as their lead interior designer. Bravo Zulu! Awesome job!
Thanks! I was awful in here before I changed the windows. Crappy dark brown and fake animal print. It was the worst! I couldnt wait for those things to come down! I am with you...they should get with the times.
@@todayissomeday Truth be told, I'm waiting for them to drop the dark and heavy browns and go lighter with the woodwork and soft goods before I buy again.
SO tired of the brown look and the dark interiors. We own an older travel trailer with woodwork that is all white. It's so bright, clean and cheery that I don't want to sell it, even for a class A, which will be our next purchase.
That being said, I may want to hire you as my designer. ;-)
By the way, my husband is retired Navy as well.
@@fantastiqueberliotz1209 Hopefully, they will pay attention to trends and actually do that! The only place I have really seen it is in air stream's European decor. Although, you know manufacturers do offer lighter options but it is the dealers who are picking the details when they place their order.
OMG... I love your puppy!,😍🥰
very nice
Looks Great!
Love the upgrade!! I plan to do things like this when we get into ours!!
J&K Full-time Adventures Thanks, it is easy to do....you will love making it your own.
Great ideas!
Finally finished ours...thanks for the inspiration!
Awesome! Would love to see a before and after!
I don’t have a before but it was old, dark, and yukky...and the new is on Instagram. :)
@@thethortour2494 Ok!
🎊🎉🎊❤️👍
Great job!!
Thank you!
nice much nicer!
For sure!! thanks
I love the new look. Kudos for being brave enough to take down the window boxes. I’m inspired! Also great story line and editing.
Thanks Tammie! I really do love the outcome. Dive in! Its so worth it.
Thank you. Love your videos. I have thought of doing something similar but without the sheers. I'm just not crazy about the sides on the boxes. We have a 2014 Newmar Ventana with Dometic shades (one for privacy and second for light blocking on each window) and my only concern is the light that might come in around the sides of the windows. (This may not be my husband's only concern. There are screws in the wall on the sides. Were there marks/holes when the were removed? Also, I'm not seeing a place/box to check to let me know if you respond.
One of the reasons I have the sheers is to hide the screw holes and to help with light peeking in from the sides of the shades (we also have both of those shades). Light is only a problem from one window in the bedroom when we are trying to sleep depending on where the lights outside are located. Phil puts a pillow up on the side of the window and it takes care of that problem. Good luck with your project!
Very nice! Before finding yours, I told my husband I wanted to cut the sides off of ours. I was happy to see that someone else had already done that and is still using the day/night shades like we have. I feel better about proceeding with this idea now. Love your headboard! I took mine down with an idea to do something else, but saved it just in case I decided to cover it. Yours looks awesome, so definitely something to consider!
I pulled ours off the day after we got our new to us motor home a month ago. Got the batting and the fabric right away and now that the holidays are over I am working on getting them covered… one down, four to go. I love them! ❤️ It really brightens up the place! thanks for the inspiration 💡
