  • Without a doubt the greatest singer to ever hold a mic. Kenny HInson remains the one of the most legendary singers EVER. His fans range thru all styles of music. He has been referred to as the greatest by singers such as George Jones, Darryl Singletary, Joe Diffey and many others. In my opinion this is possibly the best video EVER of Kenny and The Hinsons. Unfortunately they never had an opportunity to do anything of such quality. Reunited brothers and sister got together for their ONE MORE HALLELUJAH album and were invited for the ONLY time to be guests on a Gaither video. NO OWNERSHIP IMPLIED!!

Years ago I was traveling by Madisonville Ky and stopped by the Goodmans studio. Rusty said to me come in here and listen to this. A bunch of kids from California came out and recorded and they have a 15 year old boy that sounds just like Merle Haggard. He proceeded to play me the Lighthouse. It hadnt even been mixed down yet. I think it was four trac cant remember. What a great memory. We became great friends after that.He left us way to soon as did Rusty. The two best in gospel music history

I have nothing but admiration for The Hinsons, especially Kenny. He lights up the room, even as he sings with his illness. Everytime I hear them sing, I can feel their faith and love for God.
    God Bless All The Hinsons

I'm just listening to the rich tones in Kenny's voice, even though he is so weak and sick. He 's one in a million. I do want to meet him in Heaven some day. It's hard to understand why some Christians who are serving God are taken too soon, but Jesus is in control. We will find these type answers in Heaven, I hope. Love you Kenny, Gwen

A question that I have also wondered, why some like Kenny are taken so soon. Too hard for me to understand.

The Hinsons took a back seat to absolutely nobody in southern gospel music. Kenny was, .. well, he was Kenny. Yvonne was as good as any female singer in southern gospel. Ronny was a great singer an songwriter. Larry can tear it up as a preacher and singer. I love this video. Thanks for posting it.

Kenny is so brave. I know he is in intense pain. I know he's holding God's hand. Unless you know, he doesn't seem like he has cancer. Thank You Jesus for Kenny Hinson. I know he is in Heaven, but it's so hard here on earth to lose men such as he. God Bless ALL the Hinsons and I love you all. I know God is speaking to me thru listening to you all. I'm saved, but I sometimes feel like I disappoint Jesus so much. Please pray for me. Thank You, Gwen Weaver

This is my favortie country gospel group. Kenny Hinson was my favorite singer. Sadly, he was disgnosed with kidney cancer and died in 1995, age 41..I'm not sure the year this video was made, but I'm assuming it was not too far away from his diagnosis. I miss and love you Kenny, God Bless All the Hinsons, Gwen

Amen byrdma12..Kenny Hinson especially had a double dose of vocal talent that was and is so extremely rare to have by any human. God gave Kenny a special anointed gift to share the message of the blessed gospel to a lost world. Kenny could have made it very big in the country genre but he chose to follow his Lord and Master every step of the way up to the very portals of Glory with his God given ability! May the angels of heaven marvel and delight when Kenny sings around the throne of God!

If this was the only time the Hinsons were invited by the Gaithers to be with them then I'd say it was the Gathers' and the group's loss. What an awesome group singing together, and what a wonderful voice Kenny had. I feel sorry for the remaining three...you can see their impending loss of Kenny was going to be very difficult for them. Our saving grace is that they will all sing together again and we'll get to hear them once more. Thanks for posting...God bless.

So agree with that..God has poured a extra portion of talent to the Hinson family particularly to the late great singer of all time since Adam until the present..Kenny Hinson..he let us all get a glimpse of Glory by the majestic vocal ability of Kenny before he took him back up to the portals of his eternal home. What a blessing it is to have his recordings to play again and ..again.

I've always wondered why God took such a gifted man away from us at such a young age, but I am not the creator of the universe and I'm thankful for the time he let us hear Kenny sing. I agree with everyone on this page, that Kenny is one of the greatest singiners EVER and the Hinson's were truly one very gifted family. I'm looking forward to the 1000 year reign of Christ and eternity.

If The Hinsons were secular musicians and this song was a secular song, they could have retired on it alone, not counting the other great songs they created. But they would be the first to say "That's not what we came here for, we came to see souls saved." The road they chose was hard and narrow, but, Kenny would say if he could communicate with us from heaven, he would say it was worth every moment. Words can't describe the beauty and glory around the throne of God.

I read where Jana Hinson said this was in 1993. Doesn't really matter what year, the song and the singers will always be the best in my book. You can tell they loved God and lived their lives for Him. Sadly for us, Kenny is now living with the God he so gladly served.

Without a doubt Kenny's voice was his gift from God, I'm glad he used it for Him. And Ronnie & Kenny wrote so many great songs. There has been no one to replace that voice. This song was sung at a church friend's funeral. The friend was riding his motorcycle in Montana. They had just nicely had breakfast and he was riding with friends. He came to a curve and he just kept going straight ahead into a farmer's field. His girls sung the Lighthouse. He had sung the song with his girls. He sang bass. Of course Gerry was not there to sing his part. The piano just kept playing. It was quite effective.

Hey, Dirk!! Thanks for putting up some of the harder to find ones. While sitting in an audience just listening to him sing was always sheer bliss, being able to sit on the sidelines, and watch the master at work while they did OMH, was MIND-BLOWING!!! Do you happen to have "Envy of Angel's"? Caught you on CFR's, but it threw my Mom when I called you Jesus.. Kenny had me convinced for 2 days that was your name! If I didn't believe him, to just go ask you. He knew I wouldn't. LOL

I played keyboards, Kelly Back played guitar, Scott Sanders played steel, Greg Dotson played drums and David Smith played Bass... oh and Bruce Watkins is playing Acoustic Guitar. I'm extremely proud of this performance. I'll always miss Kenny.
