awesome video. lake pupuke has been a challenge for me but mainly cause i fished from the shore. biggest perch ive landed so far was only 25cm there n its so hard to catch the trout unless the stock has been introduced early enough for you to get them. but that last rudd is huge! almost like a snapper!

@@EZfishingNZ yeah likewise. But in winter the little lakes south are great and fish up in the top layers and an easy target on soft baits. When it’s warm their deep and you need a sounder

U should bro, easy access and heaps perch there, use light tackles
Used to catch heaps of perch in the quarry lake by the Pupuke rowing club - same technique to sink fly down and jig it back up.
I tried there once before but didn’t catch any😢

Haha thanks, I’m glad that people like my videos. Trout is not easy to get from that lake, and they are quite skinny too.

Yeah I wanted to go there ages ago, but every time I ended up fly fishing in the stream. I will definitely try kayak fishing on those lakes one day.

What size jig head are you using here? Do just drop to the bottom and then jig up? Looks very productive
