I honestly do not know. They where stopped for little more than a second. Other videos show one of the brakes on the passenger cars seizing around this time so it could be related to that. I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary while I was up there though.
@@DER-ail soot is a product of incomplete combustion and over fueling many pics of BB's running clean on coal but no excuse for oil its all about how much you spray on the burn plate coal is the same, fuel mix to, to much creates to much fuel to burn either you add more air or decrease the sped of the hopper. that's the job of a good fireman maintain a hot fire and burn efficiently they smoke em for the rail fans watch hyce he has a wonderful vid on this subject. he has a vid of a coal engine running clean and explains why many preserved working engines are seen smoking. again its all for the fans unless they burn lig coal thats some smokey stuff but not used, steam coal is a little smokey but its controllable.
