Thanks for the videos Max. Former single engine land pilot, 75 years old and stuck inside going nuts. I really appreciate the opportunity to get free and fly with you. There are many of us former pilots, who depend upon your videos to try to recapture some of the memories of our past. Walter
I’m a 71 yr. old in about the same boat Walter Williams. I bought a flight simulator to relieve my frustrations. And I agree, reliving the past thru these videos is a great 👍 pastime when your grounded and on lockdown
I'm an 11,000 hr pilot and I have NEVER copied a clearance with the length and complexity of your clearance out of Burbank. Great job of handling the read back and sorting out the data.
They could have looked up the BURP30B TEC Route, which is why the controller asked them if they knew it. Then she could have just given them that clearance instead of reading the whole thing. I am in the same situation as Mr. Williams. 76 years old - former SEL pilot. Your narration and editing make it easy and enjoyable to get immersed in your flights. Thanks so much for your efforts.
I’m an elderly aviator “want-a-be”. Built and flew lots of RC aircraft. Love watching your flights, and thinking about what I would have done differently...
We in lockdown finaly, day three New Zealand. If it was not for flying channels like this and bigjet.tv I would go into flight withdrawal quickly. Cheers Max and family. Mozeltov and stay safe all you good folk.
Listening to the departure clearance and writing it down is excellent practice for those of us unaccustomed to complex re-routes like that. Great video.
Bartman the better practice would’ve been to look up BURP30B. There are numerous TEC for Southern California. It makes it very easy to fly in the busiest airspace in the world. I’ve been flying in this area for over 30 years.
Thanks Max - we're on lock down in the UK, been great Wx this week but can't fly so really appreciate your content to keep our spirits up! Have a great weekend!
Wow! What a morning.. Wake up to see Premier 1 Driver - Greg, and now you Citation Max dropped a new video. Really Appreciate you and your Videos Max!! 21 Day lockdown here in South Africa and after 36hrs I'm already bored. Please keep them coming over this period 🙃 Be safe bro.
Foreflight gives you this exact routing option. And what a waste, letting you copy all this and then giving you some vectors and sending you direct SLI. Great video, as always, I liked the colours on final into MYF.
Max... Flew with Greg today via UA-cam. Had a good ride. Pretty casual compared to this SoCal ride. Wow, what a clearance... The views were great and the ride was super. I now know what the circle to land procedure is all about. I learned something!! When I clicked on this one , I was surprised it was going to be about 30 minutes for the short hop from Burbank to San Diego... Now I know why. Thank You from NorCal!! Weav
Max, please keep these videos coming! I left the Bay Area 7 years ago to take care of my elderly mom and now live in a small town in the Catskills. We use to fly out of California Airways in Hayward and even though it was a Cessna 172, it was amazing flying down the coast then flying to different air shows and being in line for takeoff and having an F18 behind us, and then flying to Tahoe and parking a Cessna next to MIchael Jordan's jet but then taking off over the trees! Thank you and if you don't mind this guy is going to live his dream through your videos!
Thanks Max ! Love your vids - great to see KMYF. Did my IFR with Cirrus there last year and finishing my commercial there now. The coastal weather always makes for some fun in and out of MYF and CRQ.
I forgot to mention. The cockpit communication is awesome between you and the right seat. You both are on the same page and compliment each others skills.
Interesting long clearance...breakout was awesome ...crazy cloud coverage ...nice view in the circle adjustments...with all that...you guys handled it like pros.👍🏼
That was absolutely fantastic! Loved both the departure and the approach down to minimums almost. Wouldn't mind watching the entire flight when it's just such a short one.
Max, you are an aviation star in the making. Your videos take us all flying with you as if we are in the right seat. In this time of lockdown in Devon, UK, I can escape to the skies.... just love the warmth and enthusiam that you share with us. Your landings are always perfect, all that simulation training since you were 7 years old has definitely paid off.
About that IFR clearance from Burbank to San Diego/Montgomery- you’d think this plane was flying from Burbank to Teterborro NJ! 😂. Anyway, really nice series of flight videos you have put together. Keep up the good work, stay safe, and happy landings. 🛫🛬
cool wing view at the beginning watching those take offs, and interesting flight and approach, I was watching with the approach chart on the other display ;)
In the future you can reference the BURP/ SCTP / SANP routes in the Chart supplement TEC section. Also you can type BURP30B in ForeFlight between your departure and destination and it will fill in the routing
Gosh, that clearance in the beginning! What a beautiful circling approach you did! I like to keep the auto pilot on while circling and fly the plane via the bug. You did awesome! C ya
Flying Tech Routes in ZLA airspace can be a challenge. Especially the readbacks. Good job from Clearance to Parking. You were in my backyard at BUR. Wish I would known.
Beautiful and jet is just more civilized than a front noise maker but this flight is a clear example of why we should have had computerized ATC 30 years ago. Imagine downloading a website via human voice over that low quality radio. How peaceful flying would be if ATC was handled between computers. Press button and say fly to montgomery and press the auto button and it takes you all the way from the apron unless you want to fly yourself. No telegraphing required.
An interesting tidbit; shortly after being constructed the 12 story building visible at 26:24 was ordered by FAA to chop off the top two floors after it was discovered it exceeded the height limit for the area. It was a big story at the time and Gov. Schwarzenegger had to get involved. I think this exact approach was the main concern, but probably more so for smaller aircraft. Nice video!
Hope you got to have some great Mexican food at Casa Machado atop the Terminal Building. They also have a lot of great historical photos of things that have taken place at Montgomery Field and the San Diego are related to aviation.
Thanks Max..always good flying...was wondering if you have hooked up or will be in the future with your buddy Greg and show him your new ride?..stay safe my friend in this crazy time..as a ham radio like myself would say "73'... to you and yours..have a friend here in Pittsburgh
thank you for your videos . i have just subscribed . i have been in lockdown for 5 weeks now , and you have given me something to get out of bed for . your videos are amazing . i feel as though i am outside again lol.
I joined your channel a couple months ago after seeing a reference to you from Premier1Driver. I really like your content, very professional, well done, shows you care. I must say too that I've never seen a clearance so long as this one. I think they punished you with this one or they had some strange bet on the tower to see if you could handle it... but you did perfectly. Certainly a great training video! Congratulations.
Thanks for the videos Max. Former single engine land pilot, 75 years old and stuck inside going nuts. I really appreciate the opportunity to get free and fly with you. There are many of us former pilots, who depend upon your videos to try to recapture some of the memories of our past.
Walter
Go watch bigjet.tv
Oh then you might enjoy Flight Simulator Microsoft 2020
I’m a 71 yr. old in about the same boat Walter Williams. I bought a flight simulator to relieve my frustrations. And I agree, reliving the past thru these videos is a great 👍 pastime when your grounded and on lockdown
You know you can fly haha you don’t really talk to people
Well said, totally agree.
I'm an 11,000 hr pilot and I have NEVER copied a clearance with the length and complexity of your clearance out of Burbank. Great job of handling the read back and sorting out the data.
Yep. I wanted him to key up the mic and ask "Am I being punished for something?"
It is pretty lame to read it that quickly.
All that practice on PE paid off 👍
@@DavidDavid-jb1cy That's SoCal!

I am in the same situation as Mr. Williams. 76 years old - former SEL pilot. Your narration and editing make it easy and enjoyable to get immersed in your flights. Thanks so much for your efforts.
That’s what quite a takeoff...you rotated just past the numbers!
I am in that risky crowd watching safely from my home in Idaho. Thanks for the entertainment.

Bartman Absolutely! Glad it came across that way. Thanks for watching
That was one helluva clearance for such a short flight! Wow!
Another good one Max !!!
Very unusual weather at landing, but beautiful, never the less. Thank you.👍
Speedy Gonzales Thank you Speedy!
@@CitationMax So whatever happened to Citation Mom Part 3 of 3?
That was a rocket departure! Amazing!
Lot of history and beauty at the Burbank airport.
Thanks for the ride. I learned to fly out of Crown in 1967. Brings back many fond memories.
Thanks Max - we're on lock down in the UK, been great Wx this week but can't fly so really appreciate your content to keep our spirits up! Have a great weekend!
Jason R Wilkinson Thanks Jason. Hope you and your family are staying safe. Be well
Locked down in Michigan too and couldn't wait for this!!! Another awesome flight Max! Thank You for taking us along!!!! Can't wait for the next one!!!
I'm curious, Rob. Do you really consider yourself > locked < down or is that just an expression?
They're following you for some time now Max thanks for the flyover on your takeoff from Montgomery

max, I really enjoy you asking me to ride along with you.
Awesome! Love the circle to land...fantastic wing view on the departure...very nice Max!
Hey Max, nice job on the circle to land!
And the award for the longest IFR clearance goes to............
I’ve never seen a jet circle to land at 500ft AGL. That looked tricky planning that turn to base and turn to final. Nice flying.
Now this is what the professionals are!!! Awesome video!!
yusuke Thank you!!
5 seconds from 0 to 70
7 sec from 0 to V1, Vr
Climbing like a rocket
what a masterpiece of an aircraft
I used to call myself a controller and this video is so much awesome! What a clearance though, jeez!
Nice angled final approach!
WOW! What a beautiful flight through the clouds. Those colors were amazing! Thanks for the ride along!

Max, love your videos. You are obviously very at ease in the pilots seat. Love to watch you fly!

cool perspective of aviation from more of a corporate view point

So much goin on that was cool.
I knew I heard N2RF on SoCal! We were out there for a crew flight flying from Palomar up to Sacramento.
Jeffrey Price Ha! That’s awesome! Be well.
Have to love those TEC Routes haha. We get them all the time out of KSLI , lots of fun
We've also noticed some of the routes have VOR distance bearings, but they coincide exactly with named points like PACIF
