  • Delve deep into colour in this Start to Finish process of stitching an American Goldfinch bird. I discuss my process for choosing colour schemes, including using a Color Wheel to guide choices. I discuss my thought process step by step. My aim is to empower you to create your own Slow Stitched piece that will bring you joy and satisfaction. I spend a lot of time on the details of creating, cutting out and stitching the bird and I discuss my creative approach to intuitive slow stitching for the background. Feel free to stitch along with me! There's loads of detail and insight. See the Chapter timestamps below so you can hop around.

    Thanks for another great video. I love how you share your process. In the beginning it doesn't look all that special, then you add all that delicious stitching and WOW!!! It really changes into a miniature masterpiece. You are a great teacher.

    New subscriber. Going back to view your videos which I'm learning from and enjoying very much. I do have a question though, Is the felt backing that you're using a wool blend or just a craft felt? Thank you very much for your content.

      I get felt from my local quilt shop. It comes on a bolt. It’s very soft acrylic felt, it’s thicker than craft felt and it holds up to my intense stitching. I also occasionally use wool felt. Craft felt is thinner and tends to come apart with all of my stitching 😊 🧵🪡

    Looks beautiful and a very helpful video, thank you. When you say you glue the finished work to the canvas what glue are you using? Is what we call in uk ‘School Glue’ (PVA glue I think?)going to be suitable?

    • @peaceofpi-studio
      @peaceofpi-studio  Рік тому

      Thank you! I wouldn’t recommend school glue. I use Matte Gel Medium, usually available from an art store, in the painting area. I show the process near the end of a few videos. Here’s a link to one: ua-cam.com/video/3fCyIpyAxt0/v-deo.html

    When you use two strands of embroidery floss, do you wrap the other four strands back around the bobbin or do you have another way to keep them organized? Thank you

    • @peaceofpi-studio
      @peaceofpi-studio  Місяць тому

      Yes I do! It’s a nice surprise when I grab a colour of floss and there is a precut length all ready to go!😊🧵🪡
