My husband was on Ozempic for two years for type 2 diabetes. He slowly turned into a sad, anxious little man.
A couple of months ago, there was an Ozempic shortage so the doctor switched him to Rybelsus. It has the same main ingredient as Ozempic which is semaglutide. Within a couple of weeks, my poor husband was so panicky he could barely function. I told him my findings about semaglutide and mood changes and he quit cold turkey. Four weeks later he's feeling much better but isn't completely out of the woods yet. I hope and pray he will make a full recovery and that those drugs haven't made permanent changes to his brain.

When you don’t eat super healthy AND workout, you don’t get all that you need.
You will become anxious and sad and other things when you are being malnourished
It’s sucks because I’ve been on all the sides of this medication and
      It’s very delicate
      It’s a balance
If you aren’t all in and keeping up with water in take, same routine and same simple foods everyday
      This is where troubles begin
I am all over the place, the first time I took it I was doing SO GOOD
my husband got laid off so I wasn’t able to eat like I was before and it was making me so sad I didn’t go workout
      I started again and I didn’t
Have the tools(food) I needed, we were so broke!
It messed me up so bad!!!!
Either you’re ready and all in or don’t do it , it’s seriously our life change and it’s not a miracle drug you have to put in the work and you have to be consistent day and day out for as long as it takes
It’s hard to explain to everyone, but I’ve been on all sides of Ozempic before I started, after I started, I was successful, and I had the worst experience, because I am so inconsistent. Moneywise I Olympic is not for me
Sometime in the future, when I am able to get food that I need to be successful

Just pay attention to what's normal for you to feel and whether or not difficult life circumstances could be the cause of any new depression or anxiety. If the ozempic is the only link, then you know it's time to try something else.
I hope it works out for you. @collettewhosthatgirl1330

As soon as he stopped, which everyone eventually has to, he gained it all back then some. He has horrible spastic colon and paralyzed stomach. Pain almost every day. It was and is horrible. Cannot leave for anywhere without knowing where a bathroom is. Doctors are prescribing this to everyone. Think twice people.

She might need medication for PCOS weight management. I had a friend with PCOS (who sadly passed away very young in an unrelated accident) and I remember she was always on diets and exercising, and trying so hard to stay in shape, but the PCOS made it incredibly hard for her to stay at a healthy weight, no matter how diligent she was. Jaime pretty much said the same thing in the video. It’s one thing to have self-love and acceptance, but it’s another to want to manage a health condition and be at the weight you want to be. Chronic illness is incredibly hard, especially with comorbitity. That said, medical professionals, friends, and family memeber really need to listen to the feelings of the chronically i’ll and not dismiss them or talk them into a medication that is obviously doing them harm or has awful side effects.

I hope you get to a healthy weight. Please read the first law of thermodynamics. You are not gaining 15 lbs for no reason. You are consuming enough calories to gain those 15 lbs. PCOS makes it a harder to lose weight, I’m sure. I have hypothyroidism and I have lost 92lbs since the pandemic began. Take accountability for your actions, take responsibility and take action. I lost the weight when I stopped using my hypothyroidism as an excuse

    • @oddi-trea6099
      @oddi-trea6099 Рік тому +55

@@priscillaflores7656 I'm glad that this is your story, but you can't use that to beat it over people's heads. While being in a calorie deficit or surplus determines whether you'll lose or gain weight and the law of thermodynamics explains this, it doesn't account for the things that affect whether someone can get into a deficit/surplus. Having PCOS can reduce your metabolic rate by up to 700 calories. And this may take time, there are countless stories of young women who were thin but hairy as teenagers when they first got their diagnoses, but as they got older and the metabolic symptoms of PCOS kicked in like increased insulin resistance and decreased metabolic rate, they packed on the weight. One of the things that helps doctors diagnose the condition is significant weight gain.
On the other hand, I have experience with a mild form of hyperthyroidism that really won't give me other symptoms except heat sensitivity and dropping 30+ lbs in six months without changing my intake. And I understand that to be because my metabolic rate increased because of this condition. So it's not all about behaviours. You can even see Jaime here talking about being on a 300-400 calorie deficit from her usual intake on this drug, but still losing very little after several weeks. It isn't about "excuses".

    • @sdc4089
      @sdc4089 Рік тому +56

@@priscillaflores7656 good for u. But hyperthyroidism isn’t the same as PCOS or Cushing’s or Prader Willi’s syndrome, etc. Instead of assuming people aren’t taking accountability ask yourself what makes you feel comfortable enough to tell another person on the internet what they’re doing wrong without knowing their medical history? Some people DO gain weight for no reason and end up having to see a professional after trying counting calories and learning about nutrition. It’s how many people end up getting tests and later a diagnosis.

Hey, Jaime. I “lost control” I say delicately coming up the steps of the subway on 42nd St. in New York City. It was summer so no coat, wearing a dress. all I had was my transit pass. I went to a nearby building and asked the guards to use the bathroom which they refused. I started to cry and the older guard took me to a ladies room and stood guard outside so nobody could come in. I still pray for him and his kindness.

Hi Serene. Mine isn’t ozempic related but I wanna make you feel better about yourself. So I did that once at Walmart - my stomach was off. I have lots of back and forth between sprinkler and cement truck - at that time I was in love with a certain soup that i shouldve ran away from… at work anyways- thank god this was 2006 and thick velour track suits were in style. And I had a nice one in chocolate brown. I had just moved into a new place and needed sheets. I had no couch yet and the floor needed new carpet. No other options. I don’t sleep on my brand new mattress with no sheets right??? Let’s go to the store with the shitz. So ok I’m not feeling good. It’s 5am and I am dead tired…. I’m in Walmart- the super huge one. And On my way to the bedding section which used to be way way in the back I feel the need …. The need for speeding to the nearest bathroom except I had to squeeze my cheeks so hard. I was sweating. I was there forever and someone came into the aisle. So I said ok. Go to the bathroom in the back. As soon as I took a step I shit myself. All down my legs. I went to the bathroom. Cleaned my legs. Tossed the undies. Went shopping for sheets. Stood in line smelling like diarrhea and then put down plastic bags in the car and drove home. I told my roommate and she listened said 😳🫣🤫. And went into her room

So we were walking away from drop off stop back to a hotel myself and my 4 friends had booked to kick back at, I knew i needed to poop and whispered to my bf at the time that I felt like i was gonna crap my costume, he thought i was just being funny i guess? anyway I was clenching SO HARD while we walked only 200 metres or so, but i was so drunk so i dont think i realised how bad. We finally got to the check in desk and i just looked at my boyfriend and said “hold this” threw all my belongings at him and darted for the toilets. Unfortunately it was already happening as I started running. I cleaned up as much as possible and it took forever coz i was soooo hammered 😂 my best friend burst into the bathroom after like 15 minutes and immediately said DID YOU SHIT YOURSELF!?😂 and i said YES 😂😂 AND SHE SAID OH and fell to the floor laughing. Went and got my boyfriends (ex now) jumper to throw over (bless that man soooo hard) and head up to the room to get changed. Jaime I am seeing you for the first time!!! Nice to meet you. I am a registered nurse and so many coworkers are taking Ozempic. I had to try it and had negative effects. I do not have any of the conditions you have but had tremendous gastric and gut pain. Like you, I continued to talk myself into believing it was my fault, my diet, my body, until one day my pain felt like pancreatitis, pain, so intense, went around to my back; I called in sick to work and I finally went off of it. I did lose 25 lbs, but gained 10 back as soon as I went off. After a couple months Ozempic free and am now on Mounjaro day 3. So far so good and no gastric upset. As far as the insomnia, I used to say I will never be able to sleep, but it will happen for you. Love yourself, be kind to yourself and slow down. I believe a lot of weight is stress related. I don't mean to preach and say all with love, but I am 60 and rest much better since I am older. I will pray you rest well and sleep. Much love and God Bless you sweetie. After cutting out dairy, process foods & gluten I’ve lost about 20 pounds. It looks like I’ve lost 40 though because all my inflammation is gone! Not to mention my brain fog is gone, sleeping better, higher metabolism & less food anxiety. I wish doctors would look more at food intolerance instead of going off the idea people are overweight because they’re constantly eating & they just need an appetite suppressant.

My doctor is trying to convince me to go on Ozempic. It's been 40 years of eating disorders, dieting and recovery. Know why I want to lose weight? I've looked deeply into this since I stopped obsessing over my body. It's not because I think fat people are less attractive, it's not because I hate my body. I dealt with any fatphobia in my head a loooooong time ago. It's not even for health reasons - my numbers (save for BMI) are perfect. I live a healthy and active life. It's only and entirely because when you're fat, a majority of people treat you like absolute, literal, worthless dogsh*t. There's no escape. It's all the time.
I'll take your experience into consideration, because most reviews just seemed too... positive. I'll admit I don't have digestive issues and might not be as likely to have trouble, but it's worth paying attention to how I feel if I do try it out. Much later. After the shortage is dealt with.

Exactly the same here. I talked to three different doctors over 3 years now about my involuntary weight gain and all of them were absolutely sure I needed ozempic/Saxenda. I tried it twice within half a year and stopped both times after one pen, because I felt as if my intestines were imploding, I didn’t lose any weight, I felt sick and literally masochistic, even with the whole needle-thing. It’s painful and it made me feel as if I am more sick than I actually am. Anyway, my point is that the third doctor that suggested it to me was „really surprised“ that I had such a bad experience. And I honestly feel as if the docs receive wrong information on ozempic and it’s actual side-effects. O, I forgot to mention, I had heart-palpitations as well… that was seriously scary.

Thank you for sharing your story. Five weeks ago, my endocrinologist put me on the drug to lose weight and control my blood sugar. I too have thyroid issues and type 2 diabetes and other medical issues. Day 2 after taking the injection I started with the severe nausea, every single day with feelings of being unwell all of the time. Called the office and was assured that the nausea would go away by week four. Not! Vomiting started along with the nausea. My appetite was gone, and my morning blood sugars was in the 50's and 60's. I could only eat very small meals. I lost only 8 pounds in 5 weeks. I did not take the 5th week dose of the increase to 0.5mg. I see the doctor next month and will tell him then that I will not be taking any more of that drug. I may be fat, but I've lived this long, I'm 67, so I'll die fat with no nausea and vomiting. For those that take it without problems and lose weight, good for you. For those who have problems, I really feel for you.

Most of these companies have email, phone number or contact that collects reports of side effects and such. This can help with bringing awareness to better inform patients of side effects not observed in clinical trials, which inturn help better inform doctors about all the potential side effects within their own patients and also in instances where medicine batches can be contaminated and need to be recalled. I've had severe anxiety and panic disorders since childhood, but they've worsened as I've gotten older. I'm on meds and therapy to manage my symptoms, and well! But the only problem left is my inability to eat. So many people make assumptions about why I'm as slender as I am, and they *really* hurt. I worry if I'll ever be able to enjoy food again. I try so hard to eat the food and consume the calories I need, but it's damn-near impossible when your guts are doubled-over with anxiety. Being a human with a body is hard.

The brain craves sugar and wants to control what we eat. We have to wean ourselves off sugar. Our Gut is another place which reacts to poor food intake.
Love your videos, you're sense of humor is so uplifting!

I, too, am doing keto. It is not a diet" but a complete change of eating habits. I looked up the research on it and found that what most doctors, nutritionists, and other specialists said was mostly indoctrination with no research to support it. I follow Dr. Ken Berry on UA-cam, and I also fast intermittently. This has been a journey. I started in my 30s but went to medical school and became indoctrinated by the medical community. I finally went back to it after trying every diet known to mankind. I have learned a lot and plan to write a book. My heart goes out to these people who have had issues. I was 5'3" and 96 lbs when I graduated from high school. I started to have weight problems when I was in my 30s. Look at Dr. Ken Berry's website and then consult with your doctor. Go in after having fully researched the subject. If your doctor seems uninformed about anything but pharmaceutical intervention (Pharmaceutical Companies control the medical colleges and curriculum), then find another doctor willing to work with you on pharmaceutical interventions.
May God bless all who are having issues. Always remember you are all beautiful, and that beauty is most important on the inside, no matter what other people may say or think. God lost us all.

Careful with Keto. I did it faithfully for 10 years, clean, whole food keto. I decided to wean myself off of 40) and all would be well.
All was not well. I got SO sick after eating carbs for a week but just kept pushing since I was determined to live a normal life again. Sicker & sicker & sicker I became. I was NEVER overweight in my life; I started keto for the mental health benefits - but suddenly I was gaining weight like there was no tomorrow. 40 lbs I gained in 4 months. At 5’ tall, 165 is massive. ALL BECAUSE I ADDED 20 CARBS A DAY.
I also developed a condition called Lymphedema, where my leg swells up to triple its size and pain abounds.
My doctors are convinced it’s all due to long-term keto and the stress to the body when you decide to add a few carbs back in - they become a foreign substance that you won’t be able to tolerate, which leads to stress, which leads to hormone imbalance which leads to inflammation & autoimmune disorders.
Keto was the best thing that ever happened to me until it wasn’t. It was actually the worst thing that ever happened to me, and I just feel compelled to share with people who might not be aware of the risks. ❤️

I work in pharmacy, and I'm genuinely concerned that no one knew about the digestive/gastrointestinal/gallbladder/shitting side effects. After feedback from our first few patients about it, and a staff member being on a different semaglutide product, it's the first thing that our pharmacists warn people about when they start the therapy. Doctors need to know better about what they prescribe. If they are going to keep refusing to listen to pharmacists, then they need to become more well-versed themselves
Edit: I do want to clarify, for most (from what I've seen) those side effects do go away over time. But any medication like this is bound to have at least one negative side effect, but with everything our sweet gal has dealt with in her health, I am unfortunately not surprised that it was not a good fit :(

I work in a Diabetes clinic, with people who have diabetes. Before this I worked for an Endocrinologist who worked with people with insulin resistance who did not have diabetes along with all the other disease states in the endocrine realm.
Ozempic is the same drug as Wegovy, Wegovy is just a higher dosage specifically for weight loss. Rybelsus is the exact same drug as Ozempic, just in an oral form.
Maunjaro is a slightly different molecule, with a slightly different acting mechanism but that produces similar results.
As with any medication there will be people who have side effects, some mild, some major.
There is no longer a supply shortage as Lilly opened a manufacturing plant here in the US specifically to produce Ozempic and the supply chain issues have also been sorted out.
Maunjaro is currently undergoing trials to get put on the market as a weight loss medication as well.
More and more the medical community is coming to see that being overweight is actually a disease state for many people that 'diet and exercise' just won't 'cure'.
Many people that are helped with these medications to get to a 'healthy' weight (and I am putting these in quotations because to a certain extent weight is a societal issue that we absolutely need to work on but until then these medications can help those who don't want to deal with the stares and the judging, anymore.) will need to stay on these medications in a maintenance mode just like people with diabetes often have to take some form of medication for life. The same for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, chronic pain, arthritis, etc.
    Again.
There will always be people these will not work for but we need to stop shaming people (and I am in no way intimating that you are) for choosing medication as a way to control and maintain weight because it absolutely is a disease state just as real as diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, lupus, etc.
Also, it is important here to note that despite what her title says, she didn't take Ozempic. She was taking something from a compound pharmacy, and though the active ingredient is the same, those inactive ingredients do have an effect on the body and can also cause side effects. For her, though, I will say that she is probably one of the unfortunate people who just had a strong negative reaction to the medication. It can happen. In my clinic it's about 5% of our patients that we've tried it on who either can't take it at all or who are limited to the lowest dose.
Thank you, Jaime for sharing your story and bringing awareness to yet another tool people can use if it works for them in our fight for physical and mental health, as well as the risks that all medications and treatments can have.

While I love the appetite repression (not thinking about food is amazing) I have so many negative side effects including the stomach ones. Thyroid weight is so weird and it feels like someone else’s body most of the time. It’s kinda traumatic having this swollen tissue that’s not really fat but it’s not really water either just engulfing you in rapid gains then basically refusing to leave.

Hey I just wanted to say that I have been on Ozempic for a week now with no side effects and it has absolutely changed the way I eat food and I'm so excited. Jamie mentioned that she has IBS and I do as well (IBS-D) and I thought for sure that as she said it would give me horrible diarrhea, and my doctor and I talked about it but I wanted to take the risk anyway. So far I think it has actually caused the food to slow down going through my body, although apparently there are people who it does the opposite for. So please if you feel like you have an eating disorder this drug really can be amazing for you! I feel so sad for Jamie that her body rejected it because it's been so incredible for me. :( (PS: I'm a 36 year old mom and I frequently binge eat and have a very bad soda drinking problem so I was hoping to use this to prevent myself from getting diabetes due to my weight)

i take ozempic and i really appreciate my doctors approach to it. normally you increase the dose after 4 weeks but she instead decided to only increase when side effects became tolerable. this took me 3-4 months between each dose increase. at the time i was frustrated because I wanted to increase my dose right away, but looking back i’m glad she did it this way. she also made me regularly visit an endocrinologist to discuss my symptoms and figure out how best to minimize them. i found that modifying my diet became crucial. basically no high fat, nothing spicy or overly acidic. making sure to get enough fiber and protein. only eating when i’m hungry and not forcing myself to eat. if i wasn’t hungry i would drink protein shakes to make sure i was still fueling my body. eating what i was most excited to eat off my plate first to satisfy the emotional part of my hunger. i can’t say i’m 100% without side effects now after being on ozempic for a year, but i’ve learned how to minimize them with diet modifications. it’s been very hard and i can totally see why people struggle with it. the side effects can be intense. it’s not for everyone and i wish celebrities who use it off label would at least admit to it and be honest about their experience so that people don’t get their hopes up about this “miracle” drug and then suffer the consequences of the intense side effects. i can’t blame anybody for not liking their experience on it. it’s a very personal choice to make and i hate seeing it romanticized as some miracle drug when in reality it comes with serious risks. i’m happy to say i’ve lost 70 pounds while on ozempic and i don’t plan on stopping my usage of it. my hope is that more doctors and patients are transparent about the reality of the drug and it’s side effects. i really appreciate seeing videos like these because it validates my experience. ozempic is just not for everyone and that’s okay!

Sadly, I am one of those who had a big gap in taking my meds because of the increased use of the drug for weight loss… that seems to have resolved, thankfully!
I have always had issues losing weight. Only two things have worked for me: intermittent fasting (I currently do this) and seeing a nutritionist who gave me instructions to eat 6 mini meals daily… drink my water… and gave me fat and calorie boundaries… She told me to eat my first mini meal no later than 30 minutes after getting up with at least 8 oz of water….and to eat no sooner than two and a half, but no longer than three hours apart. Nothing after 7pm.
I lost 15 pounds the first month. She told me my metabolism was lazy (😂🤣) and I had to eat to get it going again. It worked… but it took a ton of meal prep… I ate a lot of fresh veggies, nuts and proteins. No caloric drinks between meals.

The cause of T2 diabetes was covered up by big pharma around 20 years ago. After the genome was mapped, they discovered a copper binding gene called the ATP7B gene. When this gene is defective, the body doesn't properly bind copper and causes toxic free copper to build up in the body, which causes insulin resistance. The elevated free copper also depletes the body of Vanadium and Chromium, needed for glucose metabolism. I reversed my Mom's T2 diabetes by lowering her free copper with 50 mg of zinc, one hour before meals, 3 times per day. She also started taking vanadium and Chromium. I was pre diabetic and also reversed my problem. Big Pharma makes so much money from treating diabetes, that this was covered up. The FDA refused to issue a usage patent for an anti copper compound called TM, to treat and reverse T2 diabetes. Zinc lowers the free copper just as good, but it just takes longer. It takes around a year to lower the free copper to a non toxic level with daily zinc.

I'm sorry, but a prescription medication that has gone through many safety and efficacy trials is not the same as an over the counter supplement that was available b/c the FDA does not regulate any supplements.
Btw, having side effects are not the same as causing actual organ damage. The body can acclimate to a medication and thus side effects can go away. Sometimes not. All of our bodies have different chemistries and that effects how people react to the same medication. For example, Ms. French mentioned that she already had colitis. If I were her doctor, I would not advise anyone with any type of colitis to take a medication that is known to cause abdominal side effects. Frankly, after hearing about Ms. French's colitis, I was not shocked at all that this didn't work for her.
Lastly, I also wonder whether Ms. French took Ozempic b/c she has diabetes or just wanted to lose weight. As someone who has extreme diabetes, I know that there is a difference between the two. I am insulin dependent and have to take massive amounts of long term and short term insulin, plus 3 oral medications. Plus I have to be on a very low carb diet. Yet I am still fat. But b/c I am very sick, I am focused on how the medication might help my illness. The weight loss would only be a bonus. I know that when I started taking Janumet I was very sick for weeks. Constant nausea and abdominal pain. It was really bad, but if I could get used to it, I knew it would help. Thankfully, the side effects went away and it helped a lot. I wanted to clarify that there is a big difference between taking this to lose weight and taking this to treat a deadly disease.

The motivation is money. There are countless class actions against big popular drugs; what works amazingly for 10 million people will injure 2 million pple etc. Benzo's are drugs too. So is phentanyl. Only people who need it should use it otherwise nothing will replace exercise and decent diet. Playing with insulin will come at a cost. The patient would then need to measure their own dosage into a syringe. (for whatever reason, people do not seem to be very good at dosing a syringe themselves). I hear her mentioning that she was going in to an office for her injection, so maybe a health care professional was measuring and administering the dose.

I took this drug fr 2 1/2 months. I am a type 2 diabetic and prescribed to reduce my A1C and possibly get off the insulin I was taking. To make a long story short I never increased from the .25 ever. I had serious nausea, was unable to eat and drink and debilitating pain in my gastric system and dehydration. Many visits to the ER and calls and e-mails to my provider over the holidays and lost 22lbs. Finally ended up in a gastroenterologist office and was told that I now have gastroparesis. My stomach is in a permanent state of slow emptying, nausea, discomfort, horrible bouts of anxiety and the weight I lost came back after several months with an added bonus of an additional 20lbs. I thought I was alone but apparently I am not and there is some comfort in knowing it isn’t just me. Praying that you are feeling better and the side effects are not permanent.

Oh, it's definitely not right for you. My general advice would be that just because Jaime had a bad experience doesn't mean that the medication isn't right for everyone (I say this as both someone who has worked in the medical field for over 20 years and someone who has lost 85 lb on a GLP-1), but it's certainly not something that should be used by anyone with any kind of ED. It's going to decrease your appetite and it's also probably going to make you nauseous. So skipping meals will be easy. You won't even have to think about starving yourself, it will come naturally. In the beginning, I physically had to make myself eat. Thankfully, that does eventually get better the more your body gets used to the medication, but you can do a lot a damage in a short period of time. And if you have a problem with purging, that will come easy too. I'm not a "puker" myself, I very rarely do it (NEVER on purpose), and I've vomited probably 5 times over the course of taking this drug. If it was something that I wanted to make myself do? It would be so simple. I would just have to think about it.
I would hope that every doctor prescribing this type of medication is asking their patients about any history of disordered eating, but since we know they're giving it to people who "just need to lose a quick 20," then I'm sure that's not the case. 🤦‍♀
I'm really glad that you watched this and realized that it wasn't right for you. That's such a smart decision. I can totally understand how it could be tempting.

    • @Kristine_202
      @Kristine_202 Рік тому +4

@@RavenWolf-qt5my What a rude and completely unnecessary response. First of all, disordered eating is basically an addiction and, like an addition, common sense rarely plays a role. That's kind of the whole problem. "Common sense" tells people to not do drugs, yet they still somehow manage to do them. I guess you think that's their fault for not just thinking logically, huh? Wow. Congrats, you've solved the opioid crisis.
Second, how do you know that he/she hasn't been in therapy for years? I have. And I don't have "an unhealthy relationship with food." My diet is actually very healthy. I gained my weight because of a medical problem and I've been trying to lose it for 20 years. I love when people call this a "quick fix" when they have no idea what it really entails. When you've been trying to do something for 20 years, the word "quick" no longer applies. Also, you don't take a shot and wake up skinny. This drug is indicated for people who are obese and have weight-related complications to be used along with diet and exercise. Just because a lot of people experience weight loss quickly does not mean that there's anything quick or easy about it. You have to completely change your lifestyle and remain dedicated to those changes. Plus, this is a lifetime commitment. If people think they're going to take a few shots, lose 20 lb, and then go off of it, then they're just extremely uneducated about how these medications work.
You know that big long pamphlet they give you when you fill a prescription medication? I've actually written some of those while developing new medications or adding new indications. I didn't work on the PI for Ozempic, but I can tell you without even looking at it that the words "quick" and "fix" do not appear anywhere.
And don't even pretend like you didn't just use "years of therapy" as an insult. What's wrong with years of therapy? It's 2023 and you're still on the internet stigmatizing mental illness? That's just pathetic.
I've yet to meet a human being who couldn't benefit from therapy. Based on your obnoxious comment, it seems like you might benefit from talking to a therapist about where all of this hostility comes from. (When you're done, maybe consider heading over to an English class to learn how punctuation works.)

THANK YOU! In 2020 I started a different weight-loss drug and quickly developed gastroparesis (the complete opposite of dysentery 😂). My doctor told me it was “just a coincidence” since gastroparesis wasn’t a listed side-effect of the drug. She said it would probably go away. Months go by and the gastroparesis is getting worse and worse. To the point when I was in constant excruciating pain and vomiting anything I ate. I, myself, decided to stop the Qsymia and see if anything changed. In a week the pain was gone and the gastroparesis was about 50% improved. The next time I saw my doctor and told her I’d stopped taking it, she said I need to have a gastric emptying study and see a GI because it was “doubtful” the gastroparesis was caused by Qsymia. I went to a GI doctor who I trusted and I’d seen before for unrelated GI issues. He told me “just because a side-effect isn’t listed on the drug information doesn’t mean it won’t be a side-effect for you.” He said the fact that it started when I was on the medicine and improved when I went off means it was a side-effect FOR ME. I was so pissed at my doctor for making me feel crazy to stop taking something. I lost 17 lbs in 16 weeks. Which is about a pound a week and about the same rate I’d lost weight with the same changes and no drug. Once I was off the Qsymia and could think with a Qsymia-free brain, I realize most of the weight-loss I experienced was probably the lifestyle changes I’d made and I would have lost weight without the stupid drug.
I wish we could all trust our doctors and believe they are experts when they make recommendations.

Thank you! And I'm so happy you're on the road to recovery.❤

I'm in support groups for these meds and the majority of side effects are not this. It's usually constipation actually. Constipation and nausea and most Drs will prescribe stuff for nausea but if you eat small snacks during the day it helps with the nausea. So does where you actually inject. I do my inner arm. Time of day of injection plays a big role too. You can also split the dose up- like if you're on .5mg you can do half on Tuesday and half on Thursday. Tricks like this you learn from a qualified Dr like a bariatric Dr.

I just wanna say, I understand where you're coming from, the struggle with your weight, the never ending feelings that come with it, the trauma you've lived with. I hear you. For what it's worth, when I see you, I see Jaimie French, with her cute lil figure, her lovely smile, beautiful hair. Your vibes are truly immaculate, you are a lovely person through and through. I know it won't change how you feel, i respect that. I struggle with my body image (I am disabled), eating disorder, mental health, trauma, chronic illnesses. But I just wanna say, you're beautiful, you're wonderful, and an incredible person to look up to. I will always be rooting for you and your happiness. Also, I died at the "dysentery" comparison. 😂 If you ever felt like sharing more of your health/chronic issue struggs, I would totally support that and be part of that community (no presh tho🥰). Take care, I hope you're doing okay. ❤

Thank you so much for making this video. I have definitely felt a little annoyed with so many celebrities (who don't need it) loose so much weight, when the medicine is unavailable for people who need it, but then saw whoopi and Kelly talk about it, and explain that they were both pre-diabetic and overweight and never really found a way to get it down with everything in their lives, and I kinda turned. Not that I think people should just go on it to just to "loose a little weight" cause there's better healthier ways, but for some this drug is such an outcome. I am so sorry this happened to you. I also had colitus and other issues so I would never consider this drug. I hope you're all healed. Dairy free is super helpful, so glad you're sticking to it. It fixed most of my problems too.

Thanks for doing this. I posted about my issues with ozempic and get so much hate! I had most of the same issues. I had pain in my joints and muscles, stomach pain, vomiting, diarrhea. My worst symptoms was the impending doom and anxiety. I would jump at any loud noise and make up out of breath and terrified. I’ve been off for two months and feel like myself again. People just don’t want to believe it. I did the same justifications you did.

Oh my gosh, Jaime, thank you so much for this video. I was about to start it, but I have a history of bad IBS-D and gall bladder issues. I haven't had a gall bladder attack in over 6 months, and I have worked very hard to watch my diet to get that. They wanted to remove my gallbladder, but I wanted to try to keep it as long as I could. There is no way I will try Ozempic now after watching your video and potentially go through the gallbladder attacks again that put me in the hospital numerous times. My mother was on it for only 6 or 7 weeks and is still struggling with the diarrhea and abdominal pain 3 weeks later. As someone with severe anxiety induced IBS-D and gallbladder issues I feel your pain girl. You are one tough cookie to stick it out so long. I'm sorry it didn't go the way you wanted. I think you are a beautiful lady even without the weight loss. 💖🥰

I already know it won't work for me. The drug acts on Orexin neurons in the brain, which regulate appetite, sleep, and metabolism, and I have Narcolepsy, meaning my immune system killed of most of my Orexin neurons, so I'd be a non-responder. I can relate to the struggle of gaining no matter how little you eat. I'm in the same boat and am trying to shift my focus to increasing strength to feel better in my body no matter what size it is because muscle mass I can control. Weight I apparently cannot. May as well focus on the things I actually do have control over instead of spinning my wheels, right? I'm sorry ozempic didn't work for you, but you're not alone. I know PCOS is a struggle for sure. I'm a Neuroscientist and used to do Neuroendocrinology research in a lab that studied PCOS, so you have my empathy. Our PCOS mice would gain weight even though they were eating the same food as their wildtype siblings. They could end up twice as big as a regular mouse just by existing. They were my cutie pies tho! Apparently PCOS mutations affect fat cells, too. I know it sucks, but hang in there. It's not your fault. You're not doing anything wrong, your body just works differently than other people's. Mine does, too. Hopefully you can find some positive ways to honor your body despite the health setbacks. You deserve happiness and peace. ♥

My NP at the gynecologist told me “just go KETO” 🙄 it’s crazy to me that a nurse practitioner at a gynecologist’s office thinks that women with PCOS just eat a lot when that’s never been an issue with me, it’s actually the opposite I have no appetite (because i have autoimmune issues and eating/digesting food is painful) yet I gain weight and getting pregnant didn’t help the situation

Pcos used to be so hard to come by. I am an avid learner of this stupid disease? and I have never heard of the mouse study until the last few months. Dr's should educate themselves better. IMO.
