"The Loss of Negankerdak" is an original song we wrote taking place in an original fantasy world. The song centers on a pure and unbreakable material, "black diamond" and a sword naturally formed of this material. Please see the description for more details. We hope you enjoy it:)
Dwarves have always used swords, in the early norse mythology in fact, there is note made of a few swords used by dwarves, but no axes. The Axes and Hammer wielding dwarves seem to have come in later. In fact, Lord of the Rings may have introduced this idea in the hobbit when its noted that the dwarfs of Dains company use hammers rather than swords in battle.
@@tieshaunntanner6846 imagine Hulk being leveled up to Worldbreaker Hulk for Endgame and being taken to the dwarven forge along with Thor and after Thor gets Stormbreaker Hulk goes into it and gets some Thanos-grade battle armor and then out comes a curse-free Negankerdak as his weapon :)
A sword made of unbreakable material, formed in the earth by a divine intervention/fate/sheer chance, and unique because of that, is such a genius concept that it left me speechless for a while. And as far as I'm aware, it's also a really original idea.
The genius part if that this absolutely reinforces and even confirms the Dwarves in their religious conviction of being favored by the Earth while also being easily explained by sheer chance. I can only imagine how crushing it would be for such a people to have the centerpiece of their religion and the one gift by their god solely meant for them stolen. It's not just losing a huge part of their cultural identity but also like they failed their deity on a personal level. This McGuffin would be infinitely superior to the Arkenstone in The Hobbit because there's actual reason for every Dwarf in the world to care. As in: I'd believe that any Dwarf would be willing to burn down the entire world if it meant recovering this weapon.

A good one but It needs to be said that Hammerdeep Universe and Negankerdak Universe are two separate universes. The creators pointed it out in several comments... those universes are NOT linked to one another.
In the hollow of a great cleft of rock, a group of figures huddle around a crackling fire. They are girt with shining mail, and lean upon gleaming axes. Lost in thought, the weary dwarves stare into the depths of the flames. From among their number, a child's voice is heard: "Father, can you tell me of the theft of the Black Sword?" An older dwarf, grey in his long, braided beard, looks up. His forehead creases in thought for a moment, and slowly begins to nod assent. He looks to the others in his party, and they begin to hum, a sound to shake the bones of the Earth...
The development of story in this song is incredible. The 'gods'/guardians are introduced first, and we get a basic sense of what they are, and that they are powerful and important. Then we learn about the black diamond from dwarves, we are introduced to its properties, the most important being 'it cannot be shaped'. We are told this metal is very rare. At this moment, everything we just learned builds up to great praise of the Negankerdak. Is this song intertwined with the world containing Hammerdeep and which fought against the hordes of Oshrjad Bonebreaker? The part about the demon arriving and halting dwarven avarice reminded me very much of my favourite song on this channel, especially how it had "no arts" save destruction.
Hmm, small bit of headcanon idea here. The demon that stole negankerdak is the same one that would later be slain by Boic. I'm currently preparing my own campaign. And I took many things from different places. When the hound breaks its chains at the place where chaos reigns, when 6 souls are in the serpent's presence, the dwarves will prepare their vengeance. When dwarves set sail for ancient shore, when the gods will start the final war, the 4 Aspects at their core, mana will flow to Gargonia once more. When 6 souls are willing to ascend, that's when the Ragnarök will end. [Hammerdeep] Ancient home of the Dwarves out in the ocean on a great Island. Dwarves and Hammerdeep were created by the God of War and the God of Craftsmanship as one of the many Races to counter the rapid rising of Chaos in the War of Ancients. In Retaliation against an attack from infected Dragons, the Dwarves attacked them at the Dranea (Drenee) Mountains in the South-East of the Gargonian Continent. The fight lasted 3 Weeks, during which both sides suffered heavy casualties. The Dwarves won barely, but to their great despair, Hammerdeep had fallen, attacked by the betrayer Goddess Tiamat. After losing their home, the refugees came to the Dranea Mountains, uniting with their army and building their new home on Ground drenched in Dragon Blood. Durin, General of the Army that invaded the Dragons, became the new High-King, leading his folk into the Mountains. [Famous Words to raise the morale of his people] If the Clans still stand, then there will be a home. When there is a home, there will be an Empire. And by my Ancestors and my Blood, if there is an Empire, ... there will be vengeance. After the War of Ancients was over, Gargonia was free of Chaos, as it had been fought back until it was on the other side of the world, on the second continent, also known as Ethralia. The Ancestor of Snakes wound himself around the world to hold the chaos on Ethralia as long as he could. He was assisted by the Storm Lord. Hammerdeep remained under the chaotic influence as it was beyond the barrier the two created. The Lord of Thunder, chained by the chaotic perversions that once were Dwarves of Hammerdeep, was chained there in an effort to corrupt him and make him one of the Generals of Fatalis. If it was a success, no one knows. Durin's sons and grandsons acted like their Ancestor promised and built an empire in the Mountains, where the Dwarves were readying themselves for the final war, Ragnarök. Through their short lifespan, humans have all but forgotten about the war of the ancients. But in the last few years, even they could feel that something is beginning to change, and the Dwarves are lusting for their age-old vengeance. A dwarf never forgets and never forgives.
I really like this take on a metal specific to the Dwarves. In so many fantasy world where Dwarves exist, they possess some sort of super metal that only they have access to/know how to craft with. Mithril being the arch typical example. I have never seen a story where the metal is one that the Dwarves can't do anything with. It creates such an interesting relationship between the Dwarves and black diamond. As well as, by extension Negankerdak.
Anyone else come back here after hearing the new song “The Truth of Negankerdak” ? These 2 songs have done more to make this world seem alive than 10,000 pages of fluff lore. Keep up the great work guys

Last time I was this early, Oshjrad hadn't repented yet. Also, since people keep asking you guys to make a song about Túrin, I thought I'd share a poem I wrote, which you are free to take inspiration from, or even just set to music if you like: Túrin Turambar - how tall and proud! Yet upon him layeth the darkest shroud Laid on him by Morgoth Bauglir; Morgoth the Tyrant; Morgoth the Cruel And that darkness destroyed him in the end, For he despaired of life, and his heart did rend He spake unto his sword, saying, "Wilt thou now take me?" And the Black Blade replied, "Yea, gladly shall I slay thee." So come now, my friend, and share thy pain With me, for indeed I fain Would help thee in thy walk with Christ For through Him we may set things right For though to bear thy burden is not for me, Nonetheless I may bear thee For together we may break this chain, And bring renown and glory to the King's name

Demon who stole Nagankerdak- "YOU DID WHAT?!?!! At least tell me you didn't shout our names when you were taunting them!" Kid demon- "Uh, of course I did! What are they gonna do about it?" Every dwarf in existence- "We sailed the sea to avenge ourselves against seven dragons. Now even Dragonshore will pale in comparison to the wrath we shall unleash upon you!"
Very original. It's probably unintentional, but I can't help seeing a subtle warning for America in this song: In this fantastic ballad, a special sword comes to symbolize the strength and identity of a nation, and so when the sword is stolen by an evil and deceptive enemy, it crushes their national spirit. In America, firearms, or rather the right of the individual to own firearms, as guaranteed by the constitution, was always the tangible embodiment of our national spirit of individual liberty. Now, certain politicians want to get rid of that right, but if we let them steal our weapons, or right to keep the same, our national identity as the "Land of the Free" will be lost with it.
Say, would you ever consider covering "Reepicheep's Verse" from _The Voyage of the Dawn Treader_ by C.S. Lewis? I know it's a short poem, but you could do it on repeat. :) "Where sky and water meet, Where the waves grow sweet, Doubt not, Reepicheep, To find all you seek, There is the utter East."

I coul write an essay on how this piece made me feel but I'll try and be brief. First of all "A thief in the night" is a great reference to the Hobbit. Now, to the real deal. I am seldom brought to tears by art, but this song did it. I haven't seen such words, such poetry since the works of Tolkien. And all I wrote pales in comparison to your mastery of expression. Truly few songs strike a chord with me to this degree. It is just brilliant, great work a thank you. I hope that one day I will be able to write something maybe half as good.
No matter what sort of day I'm having, I can always count on Clamavi De Profundis to make me feel better. Thanks for existing you guys, you've made a positive impact on my life.

Theory; Somewhere out there, in the depths of the earth, there lies a single other black diamond artifact. A shield. And when negankerdak's brother is unearthed, the true wielder of both shall appear, and reclaim negankerdak for the dwarves.

then he will start stirring in the Nether.
When the hound breaks its chains
at the place where chaos reigns,
when 6 souls are in the serpent's presence,
the dwarves will prepare their vengeance.
When dwarves set sail for ancient shore,
when the gods will start the final war,
the 4 Aspects at their core,
mana will flow to Gargonia once more.
When 6 souls are willing to ascend,
that's when the Ragnarök will end.
[Hammerdeep]
Ancient home of the Dwarves out in the ocean on a great Island.
[Famous Words to raise the morale of his people]
If the Clans still stand, then there will be a home.
When there is a home, there will be an Empire.
And by my Ancestors and my Blood, if there is an Empire,
... there will be vengeance.
@@ShadyDemoness truly awesome setting, with a lot of conflict and potential in it! Really like the corruption aspect of it.
i really like how the pommel at the bottom is just slightly off. it really helps sell the idea that this is a natural wonder, not a sword of men.
If this is ever made into a book I will buy it.
Great song :-)
A new original song!!! Yooooooo
Animation for When the hammer falls pleaseeeee imagine that beat 🤤
That would be awesome, but how about a messy 12 fps line art animation for noice bravesoul tho.
How many DnD campaigns just committed this tale to cannon lore? Besides mine, that is ;)
Amazing as always not only the music but also the thoughts you put in producing such a specific lore, just amazing.
Anyone else come back here after hearing the new song “The Truth of Negankerdak” ? These 2 songs have done more to make this world seem alive than 10,000 pages of fluff lore. Keep up the great work guys
They said that the Kings under Erebror would never be restored, but Thorin and his Company still slew the dragon and reclaimed the mountain. Perhaps one day the light of Negankerdak will once again shine in the hands of our people.
I do wonder if this song takes place in the same world as the Dwarven tales of Hammerdeep.I would be most interested in hearing more songs of both!
The REAL Negankerdak was the friends we made along the way.
I'm afraid the dwarves wouldn't agree.
@UltimateShipper
Yet having one hobbit friend turned out to be more important than the Arkenstone itself.
No!! There can be only one!

Bilbo: Fight orcs and beasties alongside friends, breaks them out of prison, sneaks and tricks spiders and even dragons, establish diplomacy with nearby humans and elves, help you understand when you are acting like a self-destructive asshole, risks his hide to save yours for no personal gain...
Arkenstone: ......well, is really pretty and shinny.
My suspicion that Clamavi De Profundis play Dwarf Fortress only grows.
I don't know, there have been a suspicious number of survivors for that to be true.
Might I recommend putting the Negankerdak saga into a playlist of its own, for ease of locating and listening?
The Dwarves: But we're nothing without this sword!
Irna: If you're nothing without this sword, then you don't deserve it.
Absolutely speechless. I can't express how thankful I am for your music. It's helped me to pick myself back up so many times. May you and your family be blessed ❤️
Who else is re-watching all the Negankerdak videos to prep for the new one?
A beautiful song. I love all your works, but my favorites are those that are part your own world and own dwarven kingdom. Keep producing these. Thank you so much for the beautiful music
Fear for the dwarves, as their spirits sink. And fear for whoever now holds the Sword Unforged.
Awesome song, interesting story. I look forward to seeing where this goes.
It sounds to me that a great and dangerous QUEST is required to go across the whole of the world in search for the thief who stole Negankerdak.
I would love to see you guys do a series of songs that follow the adventure of the party sent to retrieve Negankerdak, it would be like Lord of the Rings as told from the perspective of a bard.
YES! ABSOLUTELY THIS!
THE NEGANKERDAK SAGA WHEN?!
But first! We need a burglar.........

Also, since people keep asking you guys to make a song about Túrin, I thought I'd share a poem I wrote, which you are free to take inspiration from, or even just set to music if you like:
Túrin Turambar - how tall and proud!
Yet upon him layeth the darkest shroud
Laid on him by Morgoth Bauglir;
Morgoth the Tyrant; Morgoth the Cruel
And that darkness destroyed him in the end,
For he despaired of life, and his heart did rend
He spake unto his sword, saying, "Wilt thou now take me?"
And the Black Blade replied, "Yea, gladly shall I slay thee."
So come now, my friend, and share thy pain
With me, for indeed I fain
Would help thee in thy walk with Christ
For through Him we may set things right
For though to bear thy burden is not for me,
Nonetheless I may bear thee
For together we may break this chain,
And bring renown and glory to the King's name
Great job! :)
@@annaofthewoodlandrealm Thank you!
Why does this end up being a Christian song?
@@ultimateshipper8997 Because I, a Christian, wrote it
@@ultimateshipper8997 Besides, Tolkien himself was a Christian and based many of the stories and lore in the LOTR on his faith. Morgoth is a clear portrayal of the Devil.
I hope we hear more of this setting. It sounds like potentially interesting fantasy world. If you get far enough, please give us primer, I know people would be interested in doing RPG campaigns in world like this.
You should do Galadriel's song of Eldamar !!!
The Tolkien Ensemble did a great job on that one but if any can surpass it, Clamavi can!!
WE NEEDS IT MY PRECIOUS, NOW MY PRECIOUS.
Fantastic work. I am loving the world creation these songs are making.
And that whole part about how the black diamond couldn't be shaped or melted at all. You know those dwarves tried everything.
Simply fantastic. I hope you will continue to tell us the story....!
Everytime I hear the drums at the beginning I feel tingles and gives me goose bumps
You achieved your goal! I want to know everything about that world now. Great worldbuilding my dear bards and wordsmiths! :)
Clamavi De Profundis, this was fantastic! So much so that I wanted to make a brief 3D render of Negankerdak for y'all as fan-art. I didn't know how to send y'all a message other than this so here is a link to the animation: ua-cam.com/video/JS66Un3RPoQ/v-deo.html I hope you like it!

@@ClamaviDeProfundis Go right ahead! Consider it yours!
@@ethanfullmer5547 Thanks!
@@ethanfullmer5547 amazing job! In my mind I viewed to sword more organic in shape, with far less angles and more curves, specifically near the hilt, cross guard, and pommel, but your interpretation is amazingly well!
@@PaRaDOX-de8bk Thanks mate! I was doing my best to stick to the one reference image I had. I think if I were to change it I'd make the blade considerably longer, but I'm still very happy with the result!
another fast favorite of mine, I'm using inspiration from this to give some character to adamantine in my dnd world, as a metal that it hasn't been discovered how to manipulate it, but overshadows all other metals in its purity and utility. you guys have an incredibly detailed world i love it!
Words can't express how much I love this dwarven music you've made recently!!!
Great song. I always travel back in time when I listen to your songs.
Honestly, if you just had a song that was all that first minute of lyrics, I would listen to it on repeat all day every day. "When first nine moon tall mountains crowned" is such a bop and it is a single line, but oh my goodness, it slays like anything
I really like the world you're building. Another great song like usual!
I've never been this early to a video before. Wow
Clamavi De Profundis you're awsome
Wish I could like a hundred times, to match the amount that I have clicked "play" on your masterpiece.
I love this! Looking forward for more songs in this setting. We need a discord server or some community for discussing CDP lore soon.
I always press the like button before I watch the videos on this channel. I've never once regretted it.
I usually do that to. :)
Amazing!
Whatever the setting, Dwarves never failed us.
Love your works as always! They deserve more recognition. Such quality and beauty. Keep it up!
i first got recommended this song on spotify and i listend to it 3x each time thinking where do i know this from what does it remind me of (the awnser was your lord of the rings songs) this is awesome please make more i am already invested in the fantasy world
This was fantastic and really imbued the themes of ancient grandeur and profound loss which are very present in Tolkien, but it was done in your own unique world. Well done all!
Another legendary song by Clamavi!
Some cocky young demon- "Hey dad. I killed the dwarf king with that diamond sword thing I borrowed from your treasure horde. Now they'll know not to mess with us!"
Demon who stole Nagankerdak- "YOU DID WHAT?!?!! At least tell me you didn't shout our names when you were taunting them!"
Kid demon- "Uh, of course I did! What are they gonna do about it?"
Every dwarf in existence- "We sailed the sea to avenge ourselves against seven dragons.
We must guard our own Negankerdak more closely than the dwarves did theirs.
Take my upvote!!
Man this song is awesome! I love watching this world grow, it's shaping up into its own fantasy epic!
Say, would you ever consider covering "Reepicheep's Verse" from _The Voyage of the Dawn Treader_ by C.S. Lewis? I know it's a short poem, but you could do it on repeat. :)
"Where sky and water meet,
Where the waves grow sweet,
Doubt not, Reepicheep,
To find all you seek,
There is the utter East."
Anyone else wants a movie or book on this?
ME!!!
Me too!
Another great song! Very well done!
Your songs will always hold a special place in my heart!
And it's really nice to see how the story continues to evolve through every bit of music added.
I always look forward for your next masterpiece! I can never wait for you to release it.
You should write your own fantasy book series, the worlds you make with these songs alone are amazing!
Always good to hear you!!! 👍👍👍
The main reason why my house has 4 Soundbars surroundings(one on each wall),is so I can hear these songs in all their glory. Luckily for me,all my neighbors like your songs & got used to them.
Great song !!!
And now I want a TTRPG, a video games, a movie/series based on your fantasy world with only your music.
I LOVE all the songs where your blessed voices dominate, such as this one!
I love this! Especially since we hear each individual voice distinctly, and together,
What a tantalizing piece! Great work.
No matter what sort of day I'm having, I can always count on Clamavi De Profundis to make me feel better. Thanks for existing you guys, you've made a positive impact on my life.
Another awesome original! On another note... youtube thought I'd like the song Diggy Diggy Hole, because i am a fan of this channel. They weren't wrong. Seriously though, when you're done listening to this, search for Diggy Diggy Hole.
I am a dwarf and I m digging a hole, diggy diggy hole
I want Clamavi de Profundis to cover Diggy Diggy Hole and it's your fault.
Great song! I love lore building. Any plans on writing a book or series? But the idea of an oral history in song is also exciting :) Either way, keep up the amazing work!

-Just a Dwarf passing by
An epic song, with a story behind it worthy of the Silmarillion.
A lovely scene and I enjoy the lore you guys built for your world. I look forward to the next one, as always!
I find it interesting that Rilfar hid Negankerdak, and was also the only one to speak Irna's name that wasn't a dwarf... Might just be a coincidence but he could also be related to her in some way that the others aren't? 🤔
He's the earth god (as implied by the 3rd song in the saga) and Erna is the personification of the earth
Well done! I always enjoy your music, and this is no different!
Awesome!! I love this so much
When you come back to the song and realize that Mighty Rilfar's line is about the fountain deep in a darksome rift...
I love the disconnect between the peaceful, almost dreamlike music and the name of the sword, Negankerdak.
This is amazing, is there anything else you can tell us about the world/setting

I need a follow up song similar to “Dragonshore”. What I mean is that I need a song where it’s just a bunch of dwarves going on a quest, in this case, to recover Negankerdak.
Typical family conversation, how was your day? This family's conversation, what rhymes with Negankerdak?
Okay nerd fans of CdP, I call upon you now! D&D 5e, I need help homebrewing this sword into my game. Besides being unbreakable and probably horribly sharp (probably a +2/+3 weapon), what properties should I give it?
Artifact class item
(Not technically magical, as it's power is more structure supplemented by devine influence than enchantment)
All the effects of a vorpal weapon (pure and infinately sharp), +1-2 AC (it's indestructible), advantage on charisma checks against dwarves(it's a legendary dwarven relic)
I'm thinking a shortsword BC its hard to swing a longsword freely in a cave
@@imperialphoenix1229 Not necessarily, I wouldn't be surprised if the sword could cut through anything like a hot knife through butter. Just leaving gouges in the terrain from the swings. Especially with how the various Gods talk it up in the song.
@@imperialphoenix1229 Don't forget that Negankerdak should also be a source of constant light at all times. Remember that Black Diamond is described as having living courses of light like fire or sun running through it.
