Here is another song I wrote, arranged and performed in the Gothic language. This time, it is about the Battle of Guadalete, fought by King Roderic of the Visigoths, who is considered to be their last king, against the Umayyad Caliphate who were beginning the Muslim Conquest of Spain in the year 711. It is thought that the defeat really spelled the end of the Gothic language in Spain, as Latin was rapidly becoming the language of government anyway and had already reduced the status of Gothic to a daily conversational tongue for many. Guadalete was the final nail in the coffin. The generally accepted consensus is that Roderic was abandoned during the battle by other Visigoth nobles who had pledged their aid but sought the throne, so wished to see Roderic fall in battle. They were stationed on the flanks but withdrew as the enemy cavalry approached, leaving the Gothic army surrounded. It appears, however, as though the rivals of Roderic were slain in the battle anyway as they attempted to escape. This was the beginning of hundreds of years of Islamic dominion in Spain. I hope you enjoy. Please leave a comment and like the video if you did! King Roderic violated a generations old custom maintained by the line of Visigothic Kings. The custom was to place another lock upon the door of a room in a tower in the city of Toledo.Instead of following this custom, he instead broke the locks and found a chest in the room. There was written warning that indicated that, essentially, when this custom was broken, the Visigothic Kingdom would end. He violated the principle of the Runa, or Mystery and paid the price. This story can be found in The Mysteries of the Goths by Edred Thorsson.

Ave Reconquista! Gothic tribes have come to Spain and Italy from Ukraine, after Hunnes have conquered Aujom ("land of rivers" from gothic, another name of Ukraine like Rus, Ruthenia or Schytia). Gothic people lived in Crimea until XVIII century, but russians after destroying Crimean Khanate, have deportated all christians (Goths and greek) to North Tauria (near Mariupol) and big history of Goths have ended. We ukrainians remember about Ermanarich, the most famous Gothic king, who conquered lands from Black Sea to Baltic and Volga, de-facto created proto-Ruthenia, cause Kyivan Rus in future will be in same borders. For example, ukrainian word "Тато" (Tato) which translate as "Father" came from gothic "Atta", also "князь" (knyaz', translation: prince), "броня" (bronya, translation: armor) came from gothic "brunnja". And in ukrainian language you can see other words, who have Gothic Heritage. Ostrogothic people invested a part in creating of Ukrainian Nation, as schytians and sarmatians, and of course Antes (Slavs). United in religion, history and ancestors☦️🇺🇦🤝🇪🇦✝️
And then a few goths and latins resisted on the Asturian mounts saving us from the islam. Long live to our fathers who fought againts the coward invader.
This also makes it clear that the German inhabitants of France and Germany were not civilized and remained in their barbarism, as was demonstrated by the so-called campaigns in the name of the Cross, where cowards killed debtors in the name of religion, and they also did not even know soap, which the Romans described as barbarians 😂😂😂😂😂
Also, the stupid Charlemagne destroyed the Caliph’s gift of water, thinking that there were devils, and even the Franks could not make a watch like it. Come on, retardation 😂😂😂😂😂

Your Norse and Gothic songs are the best.
Absolutely love this!
Love this dude, so sick!
Dont wanna lose my ❤ so just making a new comment, the 3 songs you made in gothic are all awsome man you should make more tbh, its a really beautiful language

Thank you man, really appreciate the support! I'll be sure to make more :-)
@@SkaldBard ofc man you are me and my classmate's favourite artist we are both of Norwegian-Geatish descend and love the stories of our kings of old you bring to song.
We both allways talk about your newest songs in class and the legends behind them, even inspired me to make songs in my native tounge and learn more dialects and old languages
@NamelessMF1658 I kinda needed to read a wholesome comment like this, so I can only thank you, buddy - really wonderful to hear. Keep on with the songs, Scandinavians need to make more in their own languages!
Maybe King Roderic and his men were slain, maybe Ispania fell, but luckily brave Portugese and Spanish reclaimed Iberia as eternally Christian land.🇪🇸🇵🇹✝️☦️
This story can be found in The Mysteries of the Goths by Edred Thorsson.
isn't that author like a proponent of occultism, especially of Neo-Germanic paganism and Odinism?
Well he was betrayed by Witiza and others goths sirs.
He payed for disgrace.
@@jaimemartin222 And they paid for treason. It all worked out, in a manner.
La casa de los siete cerrojos. La traición del conde Julián.
Bishop sisbert and oppa sold him out because they didnt like Roderick becoming king
This one is a banger!
Oh My man! You achieved my wish, thank you✨
What another masterpiece. Loved the Lord’s Prayer in the middle, really added depth to the piece
Really atmospheric and adds more immersion tbh. :)
Wow....I never realized how close Gothic was to Germanic on the PIE tree. The anglicized Gothic that is. I could almost understand reading it without needing the translation at the bottom.
Because the Language originates from sweden
It's funny when you realize a lot of Spainish surnames are Germanic language frozen in an earlier form
Gumer Gunner
Rodriguez Roderick
Gonzales Gunalf
Aldolfo Adolf
Hernandez Herman
It goes on and on
Gothic.. is Germanic.

Thanks a lot and welcome! I have plans for both of them at some point :-)
Oh my! So amazing 😊❤ you are so awesome! Hail!
Hugs bro...and keeps strong against the hun rus invasors
I am german. Saxon prussian. Both sides....made me cry.....really cry.
Ich wünschte die Visigothen krim goten und andere ausgestorbene Germanische sprachen und völker würden noch existieren 😔

This was fun to sing
What a legendary song

Many thanks indeed for the support, it's much appreciated. God bless
Thats some hard material you have right there! 😳😳
Muchas gracias por este pedazo de himno.
Que no caiga en el olvido el legado germano visigodo.
I really love this song. I almost wish there was an instrumental version because the beat hits hard.
Might upload one at some point! Thanks buddy
Marvelous, as all the times before💪🏻
My full respect !
Los visigodos fueron la primera España. Los germanos mas romanizados ¡Que viva La Reconquista!
💪💪💪💪
Beautiful
Pleasant, appealing and soothing to the ears. 😁🎧🎶🎵
Magnum opus, vates! Tu peritus es!
And then a few goths and latins resisted on the Asturian mounts saving us from the islam. Long live to our fathers who fought againts the coward invader.
Así es
This also makes it clear that the German inhabitants of France and Germany were not civilized and remained in their barbarism, as was demonstrated by the so-called campaigns in the name of the Cross, where cowards killed debtors in the name of religion, and they also did not even know soap, which the Romans described as barbarians 😂😂😂😂😂
Also, the stupid Charlemagne destroyed the Caliph’s gift of water, thinking that there were devils, and even the Franks could not make a watch like it. Come on, retardation 😂😂😂😂😂
And for what? Germany, France, Sweden, Spain, etc. are full of them again.
@@al_x2099 thats true. But not everything is losted, i hope that one day we rise again and recover the power we had one time. But all the occidental culture is bleeding and almost dead bcse we becomed weak and "inclusive".
Hey there Skald. What a fantastic song again! You have a wonderful voice. Could you maybe make a song in Flemish or old Dutch? Maybe about the battle of the golden spurs? I understand if you won't because Dutch is a diffecult languagua to pronounce for non native speakers. At least thanks for the music man and I hope that you can do something with my recommendation! Enjoy the rest of your day.
Thanks a lot, my friend! I've actually just been researching some Old Dutch, will see what I can come up with :-)
I am am really looking forward to it! Thank you for your response!@@SkaldBard
