With the exhaust off, I was able to turn it enough to work on it without taking it all the way off. Probably would have been easier if I had though. I ended up stripping two of the JIS screws on the float bowl and had to drill them out. Worked out in the end but made it harder by trying to save a few steps. 🤦♂️
I should have just taken the carb out but I was trying to make it easier by keeping it in. Pretty sure I just made it harder on myself haha. But I got it done!
@@roadslesstraveled23 awesome to hear and you left it on the exact settings it shows on the instructions for the jd kit right for the mods you have? Did the yosh pipe come with a baffle? If so which do you like better with or without it?
@@jake2772 The JD Jet Kit came with a little chart that tells you what needle and what main jet to use depending on the mods you have as well as what altitude and weather you ride in. I followed the chart for where I live and the mods I did and it seems to be perfect. I got the Yoshi rs3 slip on and It came with the spark arrestor in it so I just left it in. Sounds great and performs great as far as I can tell.
As far as I know the spring is there to help with resistance when you are on the throttle and helps move the slide back down when you let off. Honestly not sure how it would respond if you didn’t put the spring back in.
Was interesting watching you do this with the carb still in, all the other videos have it pulled out. I am waiting on my MRD exhaust to do this mod. 👍

I had the same problem with the carb tilting hitting that black box, i ended up taking the sub frame bolts out and sliding the carb out.

Awesome video! How’s the bike been? I just got the yosh pipe, k&n filter jd kit and did the 3x3 mod too. Getting the jd kit installed next week.
Bikes been great! Gives it that little extra that just makes it more fun to ride. Love my DRZ!

What happens if you forget to put the little spring in the slide?
