Just wanted to let you guys know that you are impacting my mental health! With so much going on in the world that maybe isn’t so great… the time I spend with you is a wonderful break from the pain and politics. I so much look forward to being with you each Friday. Does my head and heart good. 🇨🇦
I’m sick of this 90’000 subscriber bit. It should be way over 100 thou by now. I love your videos and I love your progress !! And I ❤ u guys Simon is the bomb. Such a good chap. Gemma, well you’re good value too. I love how u get along. Simons daft giggle and happy go lucky ness. Gemma calling it ‘ her boat ‘ and bein boss lady ! If it works for Simon then it works !
You guys come up against so many impossible projects, and it doesn't even slow you down. You both are an inspiration. You have given this old man the strength to tackle some tough jobs. Thank you 🙏
Everybody seems to be catching "Ship Happens" Friday fever. I wouldn't be without it!! What a lovely surprise to see a very special guest too as he jumps aboard once again, Hello Robbo. I enjoyed his comments on your recent work and, how he said that seeing your progress in the flesh was not comparable to what we see on the video. He truly is a great ambassador for the channel. Fantastic to see him mucking in again. The wheelhouse front, and the decks, now look resplendent in the Autumnal, Wirral light. The progress you have made is worthy of much celebration. Well done all. Viva Sarinda.
What a milestone of this massive project with many people who would run like hell away from the boat or just leave it rot away. Legends in the world of boat restoration.
Thoughts on modeling a fiberglass filet where the deck glass wraps up and onto the wheelhouse exterior wall because the 1980's rehab rotted? Seems to me you don't want to rely on a sharp right angel joint. 😉 So cool that you designed and printed your own glue spreaders Gemma. You can do the same for a custom radius filet gage
The boat looks great both above and below the foredeck. It's a tribute to the pair of you and it really is great to see you sticking at it together and not losing sight of the final object.
When our 15 rescue dogs have all passed, I'll be done with the rescue life and will leave this land on the hard for the water. Envious of you both. Projects and all.
I really liked that hybrid approach to repairing the bottoms of the wheelhouse timber uprights at the deck join. It makes sense to replace some in their entirety but when the wires ran through the other one, it was better, overall to replace/sister just the bottom of that one. Inspiring teamwork, that is. And it must be such a relief to work near the side decks now that they make a solid and secure footing!
Thank you very much by the way just sat here having my tea and you asked what the temperature of sun was all of a sudden my Alexa starts to talk to me thank you very much. That’s what you keeping in touch with the program. ,,!!!!!!!!!!! enjoy your program Michael
❤❤❤ the boat is looking nice. You guys are putting so much hard work into it. I enjoy watching and seeing what you guys are doing. Bringing this boat back from death to a real boat😂😂😂🫡🫡🫡🫡 you all have done a marvelous job on the boat.Lots of hard work
Another year has gone by and the incredible work has continued. Truely amazing the transformation. Crack on you guys. You all gotta be real proud..We Are!
Congratulations on your 200th episode. Great series, thoroughly enjoy watching you guys renovating this piece of 2nd World War Naval history. Keep up the good work.
Absolutely brilliant, such advances. Had a binge watch of all the videos again over last two months. The quality and your ease in front of camera have also gone rocketing up as well.
Its unbelievable how much hard work you guys have done against all odds. Always look forward to your stream. How far you've come and its looking amazing.
WONDERFUL and WELL DONE!!! I have seen all of your episodes, very interesting and you do a really beautiful job. Much humor in your chats, I like it very much! Please continue …….. 👍💪🎶
Getting about time to move inside for the winter. Looking so good up there, can't wait till next summer to see the rest of the deck done. Keep up the good work you two. Northern California waving a hand.
So I've watched 200 episodes and loved every single one. What a great achievement you've done so far. It is moving at a rapid pace now. Another great episode, and we'll done as always
I have an earlier model Qidi printer, the X-Plus 3. I love this printer. As you said, there are so many things which you can print for the boat using the printer. Congratulations on getting the front of the boat and wheelhouse water tight for the winter. It looks terrific and I know you will be so happy that you do not need to be covering and removing tarps all the time.
Wonderfully dramatic progress of late It's really nice to see and am very happy for you. Looking forward to continued progress even it becomes less dramatic.
The 3d printer will really be helpful, I've had a Qidi since 2018 and pronounced it the same way as Gemma did. I've been looking at replacing mine with the new Plus 4. The front of Sarinda is looking fantastic now, she is coming on great and you are both doing great work. And of course Robbo when he gets the chance to help.
I am amazed at your fortitude in getting this far. Well on your way now, not divorced yet, either. Hope you get finished in time for Christmas, big party then!
Great work on your boat, when you are fibre glassing the deck or anything else you don't have to paddle roll each layer, up to 6oz at a time without burning/ to hot. Also on you decks you could use find sand, sprinkle it over the gelcoat gives non slip
I admire your patience and perseverance. (If it had been me, I would have set a match to it day one. Luckily, it wasn't me.) Best of Luck. Looking forward to your premier cruise one day. 🙂
Major milestone is completed. When i mix large batches of epoxy, I will place my container in a ice bath to slow down the reaction, to have a longer pot life. Cannot wait for tomorrow
11:32 I'm pretty sure the majority of your viewers are not questioning your methods, rather just enjoying your journey, which is pretty fascinating, from a non boat person.......xx
I know how this pans out, you get through years of hard graft, overcoming all the hurdles reach your goal together finishing your project with humour laughs and smiles. Then have a massive row about where to hang a picture on the boat.
Just wow wow she's looking stunning Simon you and Gemma ar amazing in my eyes you have achieved so much this last year and 200th happy anniversary I hope you get some kind award from youtube or you she 3d print one for the milestone
You were smart to take our suggestion to get some spreaders for the epoxy even if you had to make them yourself Gemma good job girl. It will help you save massive amount of epoxy. That much I do know.
I don't know about UK, but here in the US, we have roller tray liners. Buy one heavy steel tray and use a very thin plastic tray liner that you dispose of for various coats of paint.
looks really good ,in winter you can add cobalt to the resin before you add the catalyst to make it go off quicker when its cold or even buy a winter resin ,have to take it steady though or resin gets too hot and then cracks
You know Gemma, a painting trade trick in the industry is having rolls of large heavy tinfoil (easily found in any grocery store), to use as a liner in painting trays for a fresh clean tray every time, even if you just used the tray for something else. Just peel out the right size, stuff it down into the tray, wrap it tight and you have a brand new clean tray every time.
lost the broom! well at least shes not a test pilot in a broom factory lol. Allways look forward to you're friday vids and if only the world could be like you two together keep it up and don't ever change.
Seems as though with all of the fans that are glued to watching the transformation of this Yacht someone would have offered you two a piece of land that you could dry dock and work on land.
That is not too late. However, Gemma said a couple of episodes back that they are in no hurry to move the boat. It is well preserved by sitting in the "mud cradle" which supports the whole boat almost up to the waterline. The tide lifts her up to flush the bottom and the keel with fresh salt water. That is good for the boat. Until the structure and strength in the back of the boat has been restored, its current position is a good place for Sarinda to be. There is no estimation as to when she can be moved, but there is plenty of time to find a suitable place to get her on the hard. to finish the outside work. So far, I do not recall hearing about the weight of the boat. She is big, and lifting her out will require some heavy equipment. She might not even be suited for lifting. In that case she will have to go in a dry dock. (Just rambling).
Just wanted to let you guys know that you are impacting my mental health! With so much going on in the world that maybe isn’t so great… the time I spend with you is a wonderful break from the pain and politics. I so much look forward to being with you each Friday. Does my head and heart good. 🇨🇦

She's really starting to take shape now. What a difference from what she was when you started this marathon project.
Massive achievement for a job done by 2 people with a bit of volunteer help
You guys come up against so many impossible projects, and it doesn't even slow you down.

I was just thinking about Robbo and there he is, wow! Beautiful work, it really does look brand new because, well, it is!!!

Glad you like them!
Looking good guys, great job
Watching from South Carolina paint the boat 🫶🏼
Jemma when you asked Simon how hot is the sun I think he was referring to night time, Anyway great show as always thanks for all the entertainment.
Seems as though with all of the fans that are glued to watching the transformation of this Yacht someone would have offered you two a piece of land that you could dry dock and work on land.
