    I put some black cotton yarn in the back channels and that was all I needed to avoid light leaks.

    Thanks for this video. I’ve just spent the last 2 hours (including drying time) modifying my Holga 120.

    This is great. I will have to hack my Holgas and start shooting with them again. I got one tip to share. I recently pulled out my first holga and found the shutter was really sticking and had a hard time firing. It is a shame because the lense on that one has some unique qualities. Anyway, I put a drop of oil next to the springs and everything is smooth as the day I bought it.

    Lots of good tips.
    Just wondering do you have any experience with the glass lens model or do you think it would detract from the desired vintage look of the images.

    Hi, Martin! Nice video. I have a question. Maybe you know what to do with the stuck lens. It just rotates from portrait to group, but it's really hard and I can't turn it to the mountain. I didn't drop the camera or hit it, I honestly don't know what happened that the lens eventually jammed

    Thank you. But you said you dont use flash but the holga 120N would have wires for flash. But in case i want an external flash, where is the battery slot in the camera, and which flash brand/model you would suggest? Thx

    Will any 6X6 viewfinder work?

    Very useful video for me as a Holga beginner! What’s your experience with the two apertures „sunny“ and „cloudy“, do they really have any effect on the exposure? By the way, you get excellent pictures out of this piece of plastic 👍🏻

      @martinhensonphotography  4 роки тому +1

      I leave it on the cloudy and rely on the films latitude to help out, I have a few Holga 120 n cameras and on some of them even when you move the slider nothing happens , so I don’t bother with the aperture on any, keep it simple

    Where did you get the waist level viewfinder? I think you made a mistake regarding the frame number pointer on the back. Sliding it up or down only reveals/closes one part of the red window. You don't get any more protection one way or another. Best to keep the back away from direct sunlight.

    • @martinhensonphotography
      @martinhensonphotography  3 роки тому +1

      The bottom part of the red window is covered from the inside with black light proof tape, when the cover is fully up no light can enter, if you watch carefully in the video you will see what I’m am talking about, thank you

    Whether is possible to put lens hood on Holga?

    • @martinhensonphotography
      @martinhensonphotography  3 роки тому

      Not sure but worth a try, could get some very interesting results, the only thing is that's were the charm of the Holga images are created through the plastic or cheap glass lens, thank you

    Hi Martin, at 4:32 when you paint the film inserts, do you paint only the inside, and not the edges? In the video it looks like you didn’t, is this because this part is touching the film and the paint could scratch it? Thank you

    Good Morning Martin, My Holga shutter has developed a light leak in the 'N' position as the return spring doesn't fully close the shutter after firing. I've tried a little WD40, but that didn't work. Is there anything I could do about this, or is it time to buy a new Holga?

    What is the rod called in the back? I believe its to hold the film.
