    Found this on an article. I have arthritis and it really did help me to open easier like it mentions here.Firstly, let’s get into the packaging: All the products in this line do not look like your ordinary makeup products. Most Rare Beauty products are packaged in clear, matte bottles with screw-top lids that have a ball attached to the top. The reason for this packaging is to help makeup lovers with arthritis, like Gomez, open the product with less of a struggle. The design is very interesting to look at and has won a lot of praise from fans because Gomez is taking another step torward to a more inclusive beauty community.

      I actually expect people to review products for their particular skin type and preferences. I am not a you tuber, but if I was, I would not review something which I knew was not suitable for me, eg, I hate full coverage , so I wouldn't review it as I know I would hate it. if I had dark skin, I would not review a fair skinned product. The product needs to be researched before reviewing, surely by watching these reviews is our way of researching the product, so we need unbiased reviews by people who have the same skin types or preferences so as to be fair, instead of jumping on the bandwagon of reviewing the latest "it" product just for views,

      Her foundation is always too light. It doesn't matter what brand she reviews. She goes for the lightest shade in the line. Its been brought to her attention repeatedly and she almost always ends up getting foundation breakthrough and cake because of it. But its her choice, its what she likes and its her call 🤷‍♀️

      @Day &Night I get what your saying and you're 100% right about going lighter. But i think that she has trouble with it looking cakey and having breakdown is because its too light. Yes definitely go a tad lighter but I think she's going up about 2 shades too light . It doesnt match her undertones either so when she experiences some breakdown its noticeable as her hue comes thru the foundation. When she does the close up you can see the difference. I have oily skin too and its a pain for foundations, I feel her struggle. But the less you have to apply the better. She applies way too much as well.

    • @hoebagnumero1

      Vesper_ Fright it’s actually extremely tough finding a shade match. I have this problem too, the pale colors are ALWAYS too light, too yellow, too orange, or too pink. So I too always go too light because I have a choice between maybe two if I’m lucky. So I understand why she always goes lighter. Better to darker it than to walk around with an orange face 🤗

    I personally love the foundation.
    As a mixed race person, I am a light medium skin tone with a strong olive undertone which is quite difficult to find a match for. This brand was one the first brand I have found that matches me almost perfectly!
    I also have extremely dry skin with dry patches, and I love how it looks as the day goes on.
    With that said, this is why I watch your videos! I learn so much about a skin type that I don't have and am able to talk to people about others' experiences with the product in everyday conversations.

    When you do reviews, would you consider doing a test with just one layer of foundation, maybe on a day you're not going anywhere if that's how you're more comfortable. When I wear foundation I rarely put on more than one layer, unless absolutely necessary, and I'm curious if some foundations are better as a single layer.

    Helpful hint - if able bodied folks have questions about why something is helpful for someone with disabilities, Google is a simple click away. It's that simple.
    But I'll do the work for you - the large ball at the top would help people who struggle with chronic pain or who do not have the fine motor capabilities (like my own daughter) to grasp a small cap or tube & twist it to open it.
    I understand clearing up the false rumor that it was specifically designed for those with disabilities in mind, but it is insensitive to blow it off & have circus sounding music playing in the background while it's "fact checked." There is a massive community of people who are completely overlooked by the makeup & fashion industry. Instead of debunking or making it a game to prove this rumor wrong, it would have been GREAT to see *every* UA-camr who reviewed this to call out the makeup industry for not being inclusive.
    Just a few thoughts. ✌❤

Like jenlovesrev jews said she didn't think the ball in top if products would help. She doesn't have lupus or any other illness that would keep her from opening a bottle. If my pharmacy puts a child proof lid on any of my medication bottle I can't get into the bottle. So thank you for putting info that lazy uninformed people can read.

    As someone with severe arthritis in my wrists and lovely carpal tunnel syndrome, the ball caps are the absolute worst. I have to open from the side, avoiding trying to cup my hand around the cap. trishaaloo That is absolutely fantastic for you. It does not mean that it was intended or designed that way. If it was, it would have been marketed that way because it would be a huge and impressive selling point for the brand. It would have been all over the PR brochures influencers got and you’d have actually seen each and every one of them pointing out.
      Again, if the ball had an actual grip-texture, the design to help people with disabilities would have been intended. It was not designed with such a texture so the added benefit for those who it works for is amazing. It simply was not the intention.

    Sometimes i think your reviews are really unfair. It never claimed to be a heavy duty full coverage foundation. It supposed to bring out natural beauty, so obviously one doesnt look Photoshoped after applying it, especially people like us with acne etc. What is the point of trying out a natural foundation when you cover 75% of your face in a heavy duty concealer before applying it? Obviously you liked it best that day. I also prefer to have all my blemishes covered. But then i stay away from very light/natural foundation. I think if one wants to do a professional review you should only see if it goes with the claims. Its not fair to say you dont like it because it doesnt live up to your preference. If your preference is full coverage, obviously then there is no need to review a natural foundation, bc we already know you wont like it. Also i agree with the other comments that you were very negative from the beginning just bc she is a celebrity. Also shows in the description of the video.

    The playful, circus-like music was to showcase how many differing opinions and comments were being made on whether or not the products were made with arthritis in mind, which they weren't. It wasn't to make fun of arthritis or lupus - it was highlighting the vastly differing opinions on why a particular makeup brand is packaged a certain way.

    Hey Cassie - I used to squeeze my spots and pimples when I was younger (I had cystic acne, which didn't help) and would often draw blood, but always at night, so no one would see. I had no idea that there was a name for it. But have you tried applying polygel (aka hybrid gel) nail extensions? Because the edges are thicker than natural nails, it's harder to "get a grip" when picking and that might help train you out of it (at one point I could hardly go past a mirror without having a go at a spot (which turned out to be a pore...) watching Dr. Pimple Popper videos helped me stop attacking my skin too!)

    • @macmclernon9603
      @macmclernon9603 3 роки тому +3

      @Potato Pancake Ok... I'm new to Cassie's channel. I think it's important though to note whether her nails were acrylic or polygel. Acrylic is really hard, so you can squeeze against the skin, but the polygel is much, much softer, and (for me, at least) you can't get so much of a purchase on the small spots, making them much less satisfying (yeah, gross, I know!) to push against.

    So weird about the rumor over the packaging. Pretty much every review I watched was pointing out the "ball on the packaging to make it easier for people with arthritis to open." But jenluvsreviews also said she didn't think it would be easy to open unless you didn't tighten the lid all the way.

    • @PatriciaGarcia-ip6ge
      @PatriciaGarcia-ip6ge 3 роки тому +6

      Well does Jen have lupus because I do and it's much easier to grasp and open the product. Jen shouldn't assume it wouldn't be be easier since she hasn't walked in a lupus sufferers shoes.

      @@PatriciaGarcia-ip6ge She doesn't "assume" anything, she just noted that her product wasn't easy to open when it was tightened all the way. She also usually talks about how easy or difficult it is to open and hold products. Didn't realize that could be 'problematic.'

      Patricia Garcia someone on selena’s team who also has lupus confirmed it which is where the “rumor” (which isn’t actually a rumor) came from.

    🖤 ya, always watch your vids. Just a request- can maybe only put music during fast forward application times and no music when your talking and interacting? It's like sensory overload atleast for me, idk if anyone else. I can't concentrate on what your saying about anything bc the music loud. I do want to hear what ya say is why I ask 😉. I hope I don't sound like a jerk asking this. I just noticed in last few vids I have to almost fast forward to when the music isn't there to hear you properly.

    In person, how was the shade 130N on you? On camera it looked good but I know sometimes with different lighting it can appear different. (I got the wrong shade so I’m curious about this one!)

    The reviews from youtubers on this launch is ALL over the place. It's 50/50 if they like it or not. So much so I can't say if I am or am not interested. I thought it looked good with the initial application and that it layered well.

      I ordered the foundation, highlighter and lip balm. I really love the highlighter. It gives a beautiful natural healthy skin glow. The foundation and lip balm in my opinion are nice but aren't game changers by any means. I wish I would have ordered a blush too because everyone seems to love the blushes.

    I just got mine in the mail today! I ordered the foundation, lip balm in thankful, and highlighter in enlightened. LOVE the highlighter. The lip balm is nice and I really like the color. The foundation is also nice (I have normal skin, can get slightly oily on my forehead late in the day.) The finish of the foundation reminds me of the loreal 24hr pro longwear foundation although the Rare Beauty one feels so much lighter. I don't know if it will last as long yet but so far so good!
