Hello I enjoy your videos..I have learned much about developing from you. Will you be making any more videos on the Minic System of Photography? Thank you, Billy
Hi Billy. I'm just a happy amateur and there's a lot I do not understand. I'm not going to make videos about more photographic technical methods such as the Minic System of Photography? However, it is still my plan to make more videos about the Minox system. I can recommend that you find, Ted Forbes - The Art of Photography on UA-cam. He is very skilled and he gives really good insight to master the good photography. Best regards Robert
@@robertenroth4059 Hello Robert Thank you for your reply...I enjoy your videos and will be happy to watch any videos you make on the Minox system ...you are clear and concise in your explanations..I have learned how to develop the Minox film with the Daylight developer from you and plan on following your method..I have recently purchased a Minox Daylight Developer and the Ilford Chemicals and I am excited to try this out..Thanks again for your videos...Sincerely, Billy
You developed a 36 shot roll in a 50 shot tank. When you are rotating the spiral and you feel resistance, you need to stop. Excellent tutorial, by the way.
thanks for this vid. i encounterd a minox B camera 2ndhad and there was a depleted film in it. i now am dying to know whats on it since i dont think the previous owner knew or cared(or even how to open it).. seems like i am going to have to buy that tank since nobody here not even companies can or will develop it. wonder what my chances are of finding a piece of history or cold war stuff on those negatives 0.o i also accidentally exposed them for like 1.5 seconds in a dimly lit room since i didnt assume anything was in there... i thought the exterior was part of the camera and not part of what you get when buying the film.
do you think i will still be able to get most of the negatives after that accidental exposure? and do i need any special fixer, stopbath and developer or will any do?
Hi Annop I can't say if you would be able to develop the negative film - but on my website you will finde a pdf recipe on what to do to develop a negative film. www.minoxgraphy.com - go to developing I wish your the best of luck with developing your film. You can still buy new negative film on eBay. I just found a Minox Daylight Develop Thank on eBay. www.ebay.com/itm/MINOX-Daylight-Pellicola-Serbatoio-in-via-di-sviluppo-con-manuale-termometro-/252706728615?hash=item3ad67eaaa7:g:TrMAAOSwHMJYGwUl btw. My next video will be about scanning the film negative on to a computer Regards Robert
thanks for your very fast response! darn, i found only 1 affordable minox developing tank, the cheapest, yet still double the price of the one you now posted. already bought it! :) i hope i will be able to get something from the negatives. i read that accidentally exposing a modern 35mm to that usually only would result in loss of the first 5 photos and some damage to others, but with most preserved. not sure how that works with this 8x11 0.o anyway thanks! this vid has helped me a lot
Well, since i used this tutorial and u helped me out, i figured u deserved a follow up. So i think i might have screwed up with the chemicals, (or may be not, can't tell) but one thing was that the film broke off when unwinding it in my daylight development tank. if i did do everything right with all the chemicals (i mightve screwed up with the developer powder, i happened to have exactly the same brand you use in the video), it means the chemicals only partially mightve seeped into the film canister. but the film itself had never come out and never winded onto the development cilinder, because the lint broke off. you can see what became of it on my instagram, protogy_nl . well, if there had been any cold war secrets or interesting photos on it, they are lost forever

Great video. Are you still contemplating making a video on how to scan Minox film?

Old film degrades over time, and you may not be able to get usable negatives from very old film. But The best of luck with it.
what if you caulk the camera too many times after you were done taking pictures, and the film received it all the way into the canister?
Typical German overly complicated thing, One has to be at least rocket scientist to figure it out by yourself. Very well made video, by the way.
