and the people who released this virus know that, private ownership is next on the chopping block . take a look at what almst happened to the exotic animal community last year . the government tried sneak a law into in a 3000 competes act that would of turned millions into instant felons. 25 states are on board so far. they have already started banning live animal sells in stores.

My dog went through this. Symptoms started showing up a year ago and my dog quickly declined. Vets thought it was valley fever but tests always showed up negative. Nothing was helping and it pained me to see her continue to lose weight and her personality. Eventually we found a vet we liked and who treated her with oxygen and steroids to open up her lungs. She was also put on an asthma pump. She is doing so much better and has gained all her weight back and her personality!!! I must sing the praises of Olive Leaf Extract. My dogs both contracted giardia and I knocked it out with OLE and high potency Manuka Honey. I know this isn't the same as the current respiratory disease... But the powers of OLE are amazing! I read extensive studies documented on the *ncbi* website. I am a pensioner and can't afford trips to the vet at all. Their fees are way above that for human medical visits. Luckily I have a olive tree planted and I used the leaves to make oil infusion, as well as, tea. My puppy had a flea bite and developed yeast infection. I have tried anti-histamine tablets and hydrocortisone cream. Problem is my puppy licks where she can reach. I started giving her the olive leaf tea soaks and a bit of oil rub into her mouth/gums. The result is astonishing! Most of the affected areas have cleared or diminished. Hope this is useful.

@@barbaramandy8708 I followed the advice of a holistic vet who recommended 1 capsule (500 mg) cut in half, take one half in the morning and one in evening (with food). My dog is 40 lbs. Also, the olive leaf extract should have 18% to 20% oleuropein per capsule. I used the Swanson brand. Also, sometimes a dog will not tolerate it at first and may vomit, so easing smaller amounts into food would help.

My dog died in a period of 5 days, it happened so fast. She weighed only 4 pounds (Teacup CHI/Papillon mix) and one day she was fine and the next she was walking lopsided and she was kind of out of it. She was not eating and she definetly wasn't behaving normally. She is(was) the Alpha of my 2 dogs and she was not controlling my other dog which wasn't like her at all. She was always making him wait ti eat his food, and stealing his toys and blocking him from getting them. She was something.
So, I took her to the emergency vet, but they couldn't say what was wrong with herat all, like had gave me nothing , they knew nothing and I left because I knew something wasn't right with her at all. So I took her home only to bring her back to EV after a couple of hours. They did x rays and ultrasound and showed NO signs of any kind of pneumonia or infection, YET she was definitely having problems breathing and coughing up huge amounts of flem constantly. They put her in an oxygen tent, gave her antibiotics and fluids because she wouldn't eat. It was horrible. At that time (mid Oct. 2023) they did not know what was wrong with her or why and this Mysterious dog disease hadn't made the news quite yet.
After a couple of days, there was nothing else they could do, no answers, no reasons for what was wrong with her, no nothing, so I took her home. The first night I didn't think she would make it but she did. I even found her outside of the container I had put her in so she would be safe and not fall off the couch the next morning. She still wouldn't eat no matter how I tried to get her to. The vet told me not to syringe too much food because of the respiratory thing going on, that it could make it worse. I still tried though. The next day, she started walking to get water and she would do this off and on all day. I thought wow, she 's going to make it! But I knew without food this was a slim chance and she still wouldn't eat, though I kept trying. She wasn't coughing as much that day either so I was very hopeful. I stayed in the living room with her that night because I have another little guy (Teacup Yorkie 4 lbs as well) and wanted to just keep an eye on her in case any changes. Well, I fell asleep and when I woke up, I didn't know where she was. I found her on the side of my couch and her breathing was very, very slow. I picked her up and held her and within a minute she stopped breathing and I cannot tell you you how I lost my shit and tried to revive her but she was gone. She died in my arms at least and in peace but it was the hardest thing I ever had to experience and I am sobbing so hard now as I write this. I miss her so very, very much and my heart is completely broken. She was my therapy dog and my doggie soulmate. I cry every night before I go to bed because she was the one who would cuddle up in my arms at night and it's hard to go to bed without her. My other dog looks over the side of the bed to see if she is on the floor waiting to be picked up every night and he cries because she is not there.
I walk(ed) my dogs everyday because I have no yard. They were never near other dogs because they would just go crazy barking so there was never any physical interaction with any other dogs. So, I have no idea how she got this but I know there must be other ways, because it seems she had this Dog Illness and the only thing I can think of is maybe sniffing other dog smells on their walks, (poop, pee) maybe got her infected, yet I haven't heard any vets saying this could be a way they could get infected, only to keep your dogs away from other dogs.
Everyday I just wish I knew what it was that took my dog from me so swiftly and the Vet could give me no answer, they didn't have a clue what it was either. Not a great comfort when I have my other dog and worry for him. Because If I lose him too, I won't be able to handle that at all.
So, I wonder , how do I give my other dog some of these home preventatives such as the tea and honey, the olive leaf extract, and elderberry? Do I put this in his food or water and he's only 4 lbs, how much should I give him?? I would really like to know because I don't want to lose my little Jake if there is something I can be giving him to prevent it. Thank you for reading this, I know it was long. I just don't want anyone else to go through this. It is just so painful and heartbreaking and I miss her ( my little Mishka) everyday.

I live in northern Indiana,,,my 10 yr. old lab became very sick to the point where I thought I was going to lose her. This "virus" kicked off on the very first day that we had the wild fire smoke come across form Canada. I thought initially I was dealing with an asthma. It became clear after a bit that wasn't the issue. I treated her completely with natural products and it worked. I couldn't afford the veterinary costs so this was my only option. I don't believe in pharmaceuticals anyway. This will be controversial but it is what it is. Turns out nothing the veterinarians were using was working anyway. Most of what I used came from this channel. Thanks Doc for the information. Much appreciated.

Your “subscriber” source failed to say she had also taken IKE to a National Dog Show in Oregon in early September, and it was observed by many of the other dog owners that IKE was coughing in the arena while being judged. He went through the entire show coughing and had contact, dog-to-dog, with multiple other Golden Retrievers and other breeds in and out of the ring. At the end of the show, little did the other dog owners know as they traveled home across the country, some having contact with even more dogs in campgrounds and public parks, that it was your subscriber and HER infected dog who added (IKE got it from someone else’s dog) to this tragic historical viral epidemic. She should’ve pulled IKE out of the entire event. Sadly, no one knew how serious it would become.
It was also observed that one of AKC judge opened IKE’s mouth to check his teeth (not the handler, which is the protocol at all AKC events) then went on to check the other dogs as well. If the AKC reviews the show videos they can see it for themselves.
The AKC needs to suspend ALL dog shows immediately, let the dogs’ titles and championship standings remain in place, and retrain their officials and remove judges that prove to have failed to have followed the required safety precautions.
In the meantime, keep your pet safe and do not allow dog-to-dog contact until this DOVID is over. The information shared above was told to me by one of the dog owners who attended the Oregon show. IMHO, the subscriber had something to do with the dog virus infection spreading, and while I’m happy her dog survived, I’m also grieved that other dogs did not. The AKC needs to step up and do the right thing for all the breeds and their owners and suspend the dog shows!

I HAD 6 dogs. One of my dogs (the 3 year old) began coughing. It was a mild cough. After about 2 weeks, I took her to the vet and she went on antibiotics. Then about a week later, my 5 year old started coughing. I took her and my nearly 14 year old senior to the vet (he literally coughed one time). They were both put on antibiotics. About 2 days later my senior dog rapidly began to get worse. I took him to the vet again, the vet gave him a different antibiotic. Three days later I took him to the ER. Within 15 hours later he died! This was insane! We live in AZ and this was in September, so we had not heard anything about this illness. I don't take my dogs many places, I have no clue how they got it. I am terrified now and take them no where. Please don't take your dogs out if not necessary.😞

My cairn terrier that was 13, otherwise in good shape, started to get sick and lost weight over the next two months, he started having trouble breathing. Took him to the vet 3 times over the course of the 3-4 months, they could never figure out what he had, they figured it was some kind of lung cancer so they sent away to a specialist to see if it was lung cancer… they finally got back to me that it wasn’t cancer, but by that time he’d passed. I was taking him to the park for some positive vibes for him possibly, knowing it was getting close to our last time, he passed in the car on the way into the parking lot. He just fell over and collapsed looking at me. I was and still heartbroken for him firstly, but he was my boy, had him 11-13 yrs. The moment he was about to fall I noticed there was hardly any color to his tongue as he was panting at the same time looking spooked directly into my eyes and soul….I’ll always remember that panicked look, however I’m so glad that he was with me and didn’t eventually have to take a needle from the vet. That’s about the best part of losing him however. Could have been something close to this but possibly not, just other lung problems similar to a cough related problem. Sad for all the pet owners with no answers up to this point, I’ll be thinking of all you and your lost best buds etc.

We immediately to him to the vet and they gave him Cephalexin and prednisone and sent him home, that was Monday. He was on that medication the rest of the day and day after. He had zero improvement and was declining rapidly. By Wednesday morning we were at the vets when the doors opened. He was on iv fluid and they changed his meds to Itraconazole. By the next morning he had made huge improvements.

My only experience with chloramphenicol was in East Africa for typhoid and it was said to come with a long list of side effects. We had a doctor go over all the reasons they no longer like to use it for treatment and were steered away from it. Of course this was in humans and not dogs and I am not a vet. I just think I personally would use this only if necessary and not early on. I'd go with natural treatment options like olive leaf extract or other options (even homoepathy), then fenbendazole, and lastly chloramphenicol. If my dog was very sick and nothing was working, I would try it and it's super helpful to know that it's working for dogs with this illness.

So I scheduled an appointment with my old vet. She prescribed Baytril and a cough suppressant. Angel is doing much better. I monitor her closely and her coughing and sneezing is significantly less after 4 days on this treatment. The vet took a blood sample and it is being tested for valley fever. We have 3 dogs. 1 got a dry cough like he had a hair ball. It lasted about 4 weeks. He acted normal, played, and ate. He just had that dry cough. Then he wouldn't eat, not unusual for him. He would do that from time to time. Then one morning he was laying in front of the wood stove. Went out first thang that morning, got white gums and by 4pm that evening he was dead. The cough was never bad and only that day once in awhile did he sound as if snoring. Never whine or act as if in major distress. Not been around any other dogs except my other 2 which are fine. This happened 2 days before Thanksgiving. I've never seen a dog go down so fast. It was a shock and I still don't understand it. I wondered if it was the food? But then why are my other dogs fine? So sad and heart broken, he was only 10.

I’m not a vet, but maybe it was something else like congestive heart failure? Or Kidney failure? It’s hard to say.
I had a 13 year old small breed with a heart murmur that I was aware of, he acted fine, liked his walks, ate his food, peed and pooped normally then one day he threw up and refused to eat. I took him to our vet, he had developed congestive heart failure and I had to put him on all kinds of medication. It worked for about 18 months before he couldn’t go on anymore.
I’m glad it wasn’t a prolonged illness for your dog; it was really expensive and stressful having a sick dog.

I live in Switzerland, Europe with a dog 16 years old who have the problems of his age.
Last year, beginning September 22, he has had a small cough. The vet did a wrong diagnosis and his medication was near to kill him. He remains 6 months extremely sick, it has cost me a fortune and the winter was a nightmare.
    The summer was good.
Beginning September 23 when the rain and the cold arrived, he began to cough but very much.
Again, the vets were unable to make a diagnosis and it has cost me a lot.
I have stop to see the vet and I cure him myself with a complex of essential oils: one drop on a silk scarf that I put around his neck during the night. During the day, I let the silk scarf around his neck if he cough.

Because the cough comes on seasonally, I suggest you clean your air ducts and heating system thoroughly. This will be good for Doggie and good for you too. Use good quality air filters and keep air filters running in your home. You also need to check for black mold and mildew in your heating and air vents, around your doors and windows, and clean them thoroughly. Keep your house well dusted and vacuumed, which Im sure you do. Wash all his blankets well, and also keep him clean and brushed.

      - Melaleuca quinquinvera 4%

      - Eucalyptus globulus 13%
      - Eucalyptus radiata 20%
      - Citrus limonum 25%
As essentials oils should not be on skin of dogs (it seems to me), i put one drop on the silk scarf.
I use this treatment for the problems of the ENT sphere since 15 years for myself : it boost the immunity and it works very well (apply to the chest and chin straps on the neck. The silk scarf is very important)

Good evening. My albino jack russel started suddenly with a honking cough. She has not been in contact with any other dogs, except we have moved and there is another dog we are looking after till the owner can take it, we kept them seperate, only at night we let him go around the house, and she is an indoor dog. He is not sick and has not been since we moved in. Her coughing started a month after we moved in. She has not gone on walks or anything. The only other different thing is we had a heatwave which made her coughing worse. We tried to get her to the vet, but he was on sick leave. We showed the lady there a video of her coughing, she said its kennel cough and said we must get benelyn. My mom in law showed her video to a pharmasist who also deals with animals. He perscribed doctrim sus with a 2ml dosage 2 times a day and said we should leave out the benelyn as it has codeine in and she is 11yrs old. Sometimes during a heavy cough she struggles to breathe and has a whistling sound in her nose after the cough ended. Her ears inside, footpads and nose was hot and she was not looking good. So I wet her body head inside of ears and footpads. After about half an hour to 45min her temps went back to normal. She is a lazy dog, but now she was even worse, walking a bit standing still and then going on. Her stomach also became very large as she drank a lot of water. I gave her wet and dry pet food in the morning with a few drops of lemon juice. After that the doctrim and little less than a quarter teaspoon of ginger powder and little less than half teaspoon of normal honey, all we could find at the time. At obout 6 I gave her food again and the doctrim, just before bed the ginger and honey again. With heavy coughs, the only way I found that made the cough stop before she started to struggle to breathe is a sertain way of massage from the chest up to the back of her mouth on the sides of her throut and back down. And then massaging below and around her ears, this made her stop coughing quicker than normal and prevented her from breathing heavily. She has coughed in the kitchen and the other dog is right outside the safetygate which we keep closed for seperation. So far, thankfully the other dog has not became ill. I have doubts that this is indeed kennel cough. We are on day 8 now. She started being more and more active 4 days ago and her ears temp is regular. She is not coughing as much, it is becomming less each day. She ran for the first time yesterday. I am so glad she seems much better. She is a bit overweight, asof 2 years old she dislocated her hip. We did not notice at first, until we saw her one leg was thinner than the other as she was not actually using it. The vet popped it back in and gave anti inflammatories and we gave her hidro therapy at home to keep the weight off the hip. Her muscles grew stronger over a few months, but she could not fully run anymore eversince. She would only jog a bit for short periods. Thus she became inactive and gained a bit of weight. Also her two back upper teeth I see the gum is little inflamed, I am rubbing coconut oil on her gums, it seems to get better. Please advise if this indeed could be kennel cough or something else? And what is your thoughts on the ginger? Will it help with her hip and/or weight loss as I have read on google? Or what else can I do for her. Her sister died last year of breast cancer, which they thought was false pregnancy mastitis and gave antibiotics that only made the cancer cross to grow very fast. Within 3 weeks it went into her lymph system and she was in so much pain. We made a very hard choice to put her down, as they said it wont help to operate as it has spread all over her stomach and became part of the skin as well. It would have been a very painful road ahead and eventually she would not make it. I still cry sometimes. Thank you for reading my storey. 😅❤

During Covid my dog came down with a respiratory illness she struggled with breathing and was lethargic after taking her to the vet and putting her on oxygen she was given antibiotics but did not work so I used a controversial medication called MMS (worked up to 10 drops per 8 oz distilled water) and gave this to her three times a day for 10 days by syringe also added IV fluids I purchased from my vet. No set amount only gave her as much as she would drink which she drank as if she knew she had to to live. She made a full recovery. Also, my dog is a Shih Tzu small dog so you would have to adjust the amounts for the particular size dog you have. I have used MMS on myself and many people online have used it but as I said, it’s a controversial item that has been used but with many success for what it was used for.

Right as we had the very first news alerts about this dog illness, my 11 year old mix started a lot of sneezing and clearly wasn't feeling very well, sleeping more than usual. My vet retired, and the vets I contacted aren't taking new patients now. I used to go to an incredible natural vet, and he loved organic Hawaii Noni juice to treat many dog ailments (read about how amazing Noni is and for people, too) . She's 14 pounds, so I gave her 1 oz Noni mixed with 1 drop oregano oil 2 x a day. I added a little water and sometimes Manuka honey. Noni smells like stinky cheese, but dogs don't mind the smell as much as humans. Anyway, after about 3-5 days, she clearly had recovered, and she's still feeling good today.
I will definitely buy some Olive leaf to keep on hand as per your recommendation.

😔 I'm broken. I wish I would have known this before my baby boy passed away from this awful, scary illness. Please keep your babies safe. Don't even know how to live without him. He was my best friend since I lost my daughter 8 years ago. Now I have neither of them. ❤️‍🩹

Have you tried L_Lysine in addition to these medicines? FYI-
When my cat was diagnosed with FIV feline immunodeficiency virus, the vet had no good meds however, after doing some research I called vet and asked about L-lysine, and only then, they said, “actually that’s the only thing we’ve found that helps their immune system “…. I was so mad that they never mentioned it initially. It truly made a huge difference in my cats health and he lived much much longer than expected.

I give that to my cat, too. Right, the vet won't recommend anything natural OR affordable. :\

Imagine my shock a week ago when I found out from the internet that my dog was actually sick to death ,I have a Yorkie 8 years old and back in August he started coughing for a few days ,at that moment I wasn't aware of why, then all of the sudden he fainted ,that's when I took him to the vet, guess what...🙄 They told me it's a Yorkie condition and that's normal 🙄🤔 and I trusted them..now have been like 4 month and my dog lived with that "condition" barely walking ,I was was really myself not in good thoughts , thinking he's not going to live long ... I'm sooopissed of my Swiss vets 😕 and that was 3 Dr's opinions 🤨 as soon as I found out your tktk (at 3am) I had almost all ingredients at home and I was gave him..I'm extremely grateful that I came across your account and saved my dog, he's feeling perfect since day 1 already and much more energy .I can't believe he's been make it for so long 🥺❤️ thank you for your time Sir to share all tricks and tips with us ❤

Thank you so much for your diligence on reporting on this disease and potential natural and pharmaceutical treatments for it.
One year ago we were displaced by Hurricane Ian last year and had to stay at a dog friendly hotel in Ocala, Fl for 3 1/2 months. The hotel is near a venue that holds national dog shows, with people coming from all over the country to compete.
My pal Herbie, a Chihuahua and Toy Manchester Terrier mix rapidly developed a horrible honking cough that multiple vets could not find a reason for. He was treated with antibiotics, antivirals, herbal remedies, acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicines. Some things helped a little but I ended up having to keep him mostly sedated on Hydrocan for almost two months. It was the only thing that helped.
He slowly got better but he has had several relapses over the past year. He appears healthy in every other way, despite having medically controlled heart disease. We still have no clue what is causing his bouts of severe coughing and I can’t help but think that he was exposed to this mystery illness last year.
Luckily he’s now recovering from his latest episode and it lasted less time than previously though I still had to put him on a narcotic anti-cough drug for the last three weeks.

Vegetables and some fruits help. Apples, carrots, and even red pepper. Lucky that my dog loves them all. Currently she is quarentined until a vaccine can be produced.

@Ewilusz I'm worried about my 11 year old chihuahua, he was paper trained and always used potty papers, made the mistake of taking him out to potty, now he will not use potty paper
We now live in apt building where several dogs go out.

@@RhondaRose5 can you buy a piece or two of sod and a tray to place it in?
People make sod trays for dogs so they can go to the restroom on grass. You then just have to rinse the piece of sod daily and dump and rinse the tray off.

My Dog passed in early September. I'm reasonably certain he had a variant of this for the last few months of his life. He had a discharge from his eyes and nose that was mostly clear, but progressed to the green glop coming out of his nose. He was a 115 lb German Shepherd and he would let me irrigate his nose with a saline nasal spray to clear it out. He had a host of other things and it eventually took it's toll. We are in Tulsa Oklahoma.
