Hector's boosting story makes me realise how bad we need the 'coolstorybob' emoji on UA-cam. Also, don't hate me for flaming Hector, I'm the one who makes him do challenges. :D - Martin
Skill capped will pin this If he cares about his fans.
now I'm worried hector is gonna be out of a job by next season or something
Bad Martin :( leave little Hector alone
*I like u Martin, u r a good man*
How do we join the lol skillcapped discord server? :(
Skill Capped now officially has more lore than Shaco and Gragas
lmao
@@skillcapped no u lmao
*Cries in shaco OTP*
You see he’s a clown
@@skillcapped The Yone was Martin, confirmed
Reasons why they can't fire Hector :
- He will starve
- He's too cute
Plus he's a fucking beast
he is one of those anime caracters with an deep emotional backstory
and he is kawaii
D = he will starve
We luv hector
Martin tilts more than hector, He literally tilts watching hector tilt then flames him, smh
Damn, thank you for hiring hector. he is the reason why I'm here in this channel watching always. I don't even play league anymore.
Wait, do you plan on playing league? How does that work
same here, I was not playing for months already but kept watching Hector, now I play sometimes and also watch Hector, just for the plot twist, my ELO now is higher than when I played a lot and didn`t watch Hector...
Hector is the most loveable challenger guy on whole UA-cam
True
Skill Capped lore is insane bruh
I remember buying this service back in the day as a support main. It had 0 content about support. I was sad but didnt want to ask for a refund because i watched some midlane videos. Just for carrying your support department in the early days I rly appreciate Hector :)
My words exactly!!!
I love videos where Hector does the commentary!
Everyone: "So, did Hector managed to hit challenger?"
Me: "OMG, Hector plays Age of Mythology!"
Where did he say that? i missed it.
I love that game
@@erikmathiasson4051 He didn't xD But if you look at his desktop, you'll see the icon ;) That game is so nostalgic for me >.
@@jak2541 also stalked the desktop games XD just had to - Age of Empires still hits different
5:52 i like how that line slowly extends to the left like the editor just realized its not all the way and tries to quietly fix it before anyone noticed
for real lmfao. hes just like "gonna just slide this right here"
lmaoooo
Dont fire hector, dont let him starve, pls :(
The "making a thought ridiculous" tip is actually a common strategy psychologists tell to those who struggle with overthinking or anxiety. i.e. a very good tip!
Dude, this is so real and relatable. Hector always sounds so calm in the videos, really interesting to hear about his tilt-perience. I was homeless and starved off and on for years, but I've never considered using it to put tilting games in perspective. Thanks for this. :)
Wow I never knew how hard Hector had to work in the past, I always thought he was the funny challenge man...
This is the Hector lore episode
Jokes aside, fair play to skill capped for putting food on hectors table, genuinely a really touching story
As someone who nearly died in a federal bathroom, I see this working for me.
Tl:Dr for that: two different things I didn't know lowered my heart rate stacked together and knocked me out at the worst possible time.
Congrats hector. Best skill capped employee no doubt. (mcbaze and japanese import get honourable mentions ofc)
I think one thing that happens is around 7:05. Usually if we encounter people that are annoying we could think "well, it is just one person, we won't meet them again anyways".
But if it is a repetitive behaviour our tilt begins to search for similarities and puts them into the same category (i think), so it basically feels like we are playing with the same kind of people all over again.
We tend to try to "adjust" their behaviour to maybe writing to them, because if you are also a person with high moral standards, bad behaviour will even trigger you more.
I think what you have done to say "it could be worse" is a good advice, however i think something that will generally help you if takes you out of the focus on the "bad things" ingame.
Would be actually interesting if someone did a study in behavioural psychologies on this one haha :D
now i know why hector never went to worlds , would defently hit the ff at 15 and get up and slap one of his teammates live on camera XD and this is also why i tilt , when i flame people be like it's only a game , and every one seems to be confused when i say you're wasting my time
i don't think he is flaming anyone in game or in any other way than in his mind ;P
@@thatguy5233 some of us talk to the monitor you know
@KIDAS i dont see the ego when getting angry at someone who alt tabs as a jungler for 20 secs repeatadly in a "ranked game" which is legit meant for nolifing :)
Hi Hector!
Gave a like! Your advice is okay'ish but true for your mindset. I'm a mental coach and i can agree that your 'absurd' thoughts are a fine way to get out of tilt.
Here's some advice in case you need imediate help in case your thoughts wander into a tilt:
There are roughly 6 Stages until you tilt!
1. FOCUS(Basic stage)
2. IRRITATION
3. CONFUSION
4. SEMI-DEPRESSION
5. ANGER(irrational swearing)
6. HATE / TILT (physical outburts)
Preemptive Messures:
- structure your life (phyisical and social)
- avoid interruptions and needless data mining
- eat healthy (avoid soft/hard drugs and sugar)
immediate Messures:
- 15 Minute Breaks after a game
- after a death take a fresh breather at the window/balcony/etc.
- do phisical activities (push-ups to annul your adrenalin mechanics of the 'flee-or-fight' stress insticts) !!! Very helpful for hardtilter
- backlog your training and shift from LP gain to training targets ('could be worse' is not good enough 'I got closer to my training target')
- set priorities to fall back to ( for example: 1. farming 2. surving/priority 3. vision 4. Rotation)
Here's an insider for the last point: What happens when you tilt?
As the only answer to stress(doesn't matter if physical or emotional) is your body activating the 'flee-or-fight' mechanism in which your body does the following:
1. increasing your cortisol level
2. decreasing the higher brain functions (tunnelvision and incongruent thinking)
3. increasing your bloodflow and muscle performances
As we are performing "brain sports" it is paramount to avoid your brain beeing influenced negatively. You may notice yourself - in retrospective - not beeing able to anticipate plays in full anymore (even your own) when you tilt. CORTISOL LEVEL/STRESSINSTINCT is one ofthe reasons.
If we dive deeper I'd go and tell you about your ego, but this is enough imho.
I wish you luck with your mental and thanks to Martin for your contents!
P.S.

First mentality video I have ever watched that I found useful. Can definitely relate to the self imposed goal and frustration with time loss
I really appreciate how someone of hector's caliber can portray frustration and express vivid tilting from inting teammates that can even cost him his meals... Despite how unrealistic some of us may relate to that, thank you for sharing your human side as that's the skill-capped video I personally needed
This is actually like the most valuable video you guys made.
The "Could be worse, could be starving" hit hard. Glad you made it.
"eh .. could be worse. could be starving" best line ever.
guy starves himself over league of legends loss
ikr, how pathetic
Still more healthy than eating taco Bell if hes succesfull
But I don't get , he starved himself as a self punishment or he starved bcus he couldn't afford food ?
@@pyrefly7575 he was too stressed out to eat

WOW, you are human!
Best lessons than the entire SC site. I am a subscriber.
"...but for now I feel...compelled to tell you about Skill Capped."
That's the pause of a man opening his paycheck, lol.
This is one of my favorite video's of all time so far by your channel, it addresses everything I've been feeling recently, and I'm so glad to find out that I'm not alone dealing with this, thank you for this video
1:45 THANK YOU. So many guides and people are like "well you could've played near perfectly and that would've won the game" when people talk about losing to teammates. We're human, we make mistakes. Usually the people who complain are the ones who made far less mistakes and less significant ones than their teammates, but lost.
Those guides basically say "you lost because you weren't playing like you were several ranks above", which is just a ridiculous reply. Expecting people to climb by being significantly better at the game than their current elo suggests is just not a good advice, it places the blame on the wrong side.
I can't believe I watched this video then proceeded to order a taco bell 5$ box in Hector's honor
I swear without hector this channel dies. This guy is pure gold
does Hector know that we love it every time he comes on?
1:47 thank you, that is what I have been saying for many years.
This video and the previous one (EP 3) were actually the best ones from this series in my opinion :). Thanks a lot for sharing.
I was really hard tilted. Then I started a game and my duo support had urgent trades on another game and spent the first few minutes alt-tabbed.
When he came back to our losing lane, something I had eaten didn't agree with my stomach, and since it was all f'd up I decided I wouldn't spend so long cold sweating and shuffling on my seat.
And I came back to a winning game somehow.
After that I just stopped trying so hard. My winrate raised from 50 to 53%, and since I already have plenty of games this season, it feels like I have been winning much more than losing
Loved this one. Thank you Hector!
by far my favorite skill capped video.
acid yone had me rolling lmao
Definitely needed this mental guide
Best one yet on skill caped
That's really sound advice. I find that taking loses into perspective is also very effective. Saying stuff like "it's just a loss at a video game, I could be losing something more valuable.", really takes your mind off the stupid people inting at a stupid game.
Can't agree more. I usually will convince myself I'm not tired but the fact is my mental state suffers from my thought after tilting games.
Glad were getting more hector lore
Honestly I'd love to watch Hector streams
0:30 Oh my god the music! My brain is unable to unhear both "The Thunder Show" and "Shooting Range"
God Bless(Blast) the Snail!
Maybe there are better life decisions out there than “if I don’t win this league game I will starve”
Can't get enough of Hector, with your soothing monotone voice. It's like... NECTAR to my ears xD
Respect for telling your story - thanks!
Perfect way of putting it brother
"My final challenger video will be mindset video" "No" Title of video: "How to avoid tilt!"
At end of the day it’s just a game there are tons of more important things in life. Most of us play for fun and everyone allows the competitive side or nerves to get in way of that at some point but I totally agree it’s really good to be grounded and remember why we play. Outside of LOL I try to be thankful for something everyday so the negative parts for the day don’t consume you. It’s good practice and can even apply to LOL!
I lowkey want to be friends with Hector
He seems like such a sweet person to be around (even if only in the digital space)
the tilt management helped me :3
i struggle with tilt very bad. I change into another person when I get tilted no matter HOW MANY TIMES I tell myself to not tilt during the loading screen. I honestly hate that. I'm still trying to change that and your videos are helpful, Hector. What really irks me in this game is when I go to roam other lanes and a fight breaks out in river and the closest laner doesn't move even if you spam ping them. I am trying to improve on not letting those type of things get to me but it is REALLY REALLY hard. My mental is complete dogshit when it come to League.
Before you spamping them, watch their lanestate. Maybe they CAN'T move as early as you want even if they wanted to. If wavestate is fine to move, then the next thought has to be "maybe that guy sees me but doesn't want to move because he thinks I'm inting here. Am I inting?" and double-check if you missed some sort of information that would make you play bad. Like could there be another enemy you didn't think of or stuff like that.
It's always easy to say "the others should have moved" when in reality you giga grief your teammates with trying to force them to join you
this was adorable, i'm definitely gonna try it, thanks hector
Man ... what a story ... I hope Hector is eating healthy food everyday now !
Does Hector stream on Twitch? Would love to watch him!
damn hector went trough it, respect
Nice another Hector video
And it has some hardcore lore video
DONT WORRY HEC YOU STILL A KING IN MY EYES BABY, ITS YOUR VOICE IN MY HEAD TELLING ME TO NOT OVER EXTEND XD
Thank you I needed that
I just watched a 9 minutes video on how to tell myself I could be starving lmao
Someone get this man a chalupa.
Hector is a lot more relatable than most of us want to admit
can we have access to the whole climb videos of Hector? :(
I'm glad you shared your story. I know it can be hard to do so and I'll try out your tactic for sure :D
Thank you for the story Hector and good job. I do something similar just anything to shake it off and if possible make myself laugh. things can always be worse and always be better.
I think Hector needs a hug.
It helped but...not in the way I've expected. But now I'm really on the mood to play
Damn hector origin story. Hope you getting some subways sandwiches atleast now. I used to do iron-gold boosts for a website (I don't anymore its been years) I was doing it for extra money back in the day before. I have some PTSD from my service days which results in some rage. I get mad over things I shouldn't even I'm real life. Like a guy tailgating me sets me into an inferno. I had to start saying stuff like "could be worse. Could be a marine" you know stupid stuff. Works for me on the game, and in real life. Long story short I tilt on league. Evening inting GM to D1. But I think I've found a healthy way to improve. Idk great video I'm sure many of us have stressor that can be brought out by accident on these games. I try to tell myself this is for fun. Because really it should be. This rat game isn't my job.
it's the I wanna die to 'lmao' for meee😭😭😭
The more I see hector videos, the more I like him haha. HECTOR U ARE MY IDOL, HGHECTOR>>>>>REKKLES/FAKER/GUMAYUSY/EVERYONE ELSE.
When I tilt my break lasts a week, not 15 minutes. I always hope someday I just stop playing all together lmao.
Thanks for sharing bro 👍🏼
holy shit poor hector
poor? more like crazy, there is no game that deserves this kind of commitment where you have to starve yourself just because you lose, i knew that league players are weird and crazy but this is a whole new level

Mines gonna be "could be at work right now instead" def makes me un tilt
skill capped gave me a bit of a superiority complex and now i tilt more because of it.
"You're banned from making mindset videos" lmaooooo
This is the same way I rationalize LP losses.I lose the previous victory, the time in the loss, and my next win to get back to baseline.
I unironically just tell myself that whatever went wrong in game is my fault. I have a problem handling things that I can't personally control, so telling myself it was my fault, I'm able to mentally move past it and reset.
hector is so cool i swear
I'll save everyone time: To avoid tilt, develop dementia and convince yourself it could be worse.
lol my mental might be worse than hectors, i am doomed, glad yall can help everyone else though
I'm gonna try to use that type of midset to climb as well. I only play Fiora in my games cause it would take a while to learn and play with other champs. Because I only play with her, I charge myself a lot. And as a result, I get kinda nervous, thinking if I can't hard win the lane phase, I can't win the game bc my teammates wouldn't do much to win the game later.
damn hella respect for hector
7:57 That sounds so painful. Hector, i would love to see you on @
HealthyGamerGG
Best wishes to y'all, take care of yourselves
cheers
"My macro is off the charts. If I had mechanics/mental i´d be faker"
I love how it doesnt even sound arrogant, its just plain truth lol :D
Everyone's gangster until acid yone shows up
I'll never think about Taco Bell's $5 chalupa box the same
Dude the starving story is insane….crazy how ur teammates could be casually playing while ur hyper focused bc if u lose u can’t pay rent
that was the weirdest one yet, but I enjoyed it
Realy cool vidéo !
Bro, I have such a toxic toxic mentality. I’m working so hard SO HARD! and even in my games I get my team ahead work my butt off, play as best as I can and my team throw it all away. And my mental crashes.
I’m sorry you had trlblaster , that guy has lost his sanity
I actually play better with a small level of tilt in me. Like if I slip into auto pilot and the enemy says "sup diff" (I'm a sup main) during lane phase, that puts me into like, 1-5% tilt. And that's the range that I feel doesn't make me play worse, it makes me focus on what's happening more.
