    I just wish it was able to index your handwritten notes for easy searching like the Onyx software does.

      That's one of my biggest gripes with the rM. It's very hard to find things back what you've written. There's not even a tagging feature. If they would add instant hw recogn. with search the rM would be such a powerful tool. It's a computer not paper ;)

    When converting to text, I wish they allowed the user to ringfence items that they didn't wish converted to text, allowing for a mix of a convert to text and graphics.

    I bought a remarkable 2 yesterday and am just waiting for delivery. I'm a writer and always write the first version of my books by hand, so for me, the handwriting recognition is the first asset of this device. I hope to save months and months of typing (years altogether !). My Question is: does this application adapt to the user's personal handwriting with time? It would be great if we could create a profile by just writing a specific text with all letters / symbols in it, so that the program would know what is what, at least for us.

    It's a shame it can't recognize mathametical symbol, since thats one of the real hassles of having to use a computer to type your notes.

    Great video series! These “How To” mini tutorials are very helpful.
    Some questions:
    How does rM handle converting contractions (i.e. won’t can’t, I’ll, we’ll)? Or acronyms?
    Is bold, italic and underline a keyboard edit after handwriting conversion?
    Does the rM have other keyboard options for superscript, subscript, and mathematical symbols beyond - = +? Or do we have to write SQ SQRT, SUM etc.?
    Final question, really an expansion of the previous question (please forgive if you have already covered this in a previous review). Does rM have different keyboard options say like a calculator app that has options for basic calculator, scientific calc, financial calc, etc.?

    Hi Voja! Love your videos and they make me want to get my reMarkable2 now now now! Anyway, I have two questions: about sub- and super-script. What would happen if you write ”x^2” or ”x_2”?
    The other question:
    In a document, can you choose to convert a specific page or does it take the whole document?
    Cheers!

    Great video ! Wondering...is there a way to covert script to text, edit the text for clarity if needed, and then instead of emailing it, have that text replace the script and save that text on the Remarkable2 pad?

    I would be interested, if one writes text and equations in between text, is remarkable2 able to convert the text and leave the equations unchanged between the text lines, given that it is not able to convert all sorts of physics-related equations?
    I personally would really need a feature like this. I am planning to order remarkable2 and I am highly excited about this and I want to know more about its capabilities.
    Thank you for the review on the tablet, they helped me with my decision :)

    hi thanks for the the how to videos. Just got my RM2. I wanted to use the convert to text to share minutes from meetings but when converting common names, it replaces them. E.G. "Asto Shop" which is name of the shop is converted to "As to shop". Please tell me there is a way to use common names :) Tried "" but didn't change anything. Also when converting to text, the template is not kept.

    2 things is that they need to get right here. Add symbols, add bolder letters, add underline, search notes chosen 2 languages to translate instead of only one. All these should be possible especially fi the processing is happening on the cloud. Also they should allow you to remove their marketing signature from the email.

      On any other device, I would suggest that you make your own template and use that, but unfortunately on the Remarkable that is not possible. Instead, you can make a template and export it as a PDF file (single or multi page, it's up to you), and then use that as a template for your prices.

    thanks for the video. Do you know if you can convert files to text once synced onto your desktop app? I cannot work out how to do this. No, but there are many other programs that can do text analysis and conversion, from PDFs. You should do a search on that and find the best one for your needs and platform.

      I'm planning to use my reMarkable 2 mainly for book summaries and gathering what's in my head. • @MyDeepGuide
      @MyDeepGuide  2 роки тому

      Thank you :) I will assume that you are using Remarkable as a platform. In that case it's not possible to do text conversion, because Remarkable doesn't support that with handwritten notes in a document. However, you can select the notes you want to convert, copy them to a notebook and convert there. That workflow, I haven't tried, but it might work :)

  • @roadxoverland2917

    When you wrote the three separate lines, it combined the tow bottom sentences instead of leaving them on their own lines. Why?
    Also, how could you have fixed that after it was converted? Is there an "Enter" or something that would push the third sentence down to the next line? By the way mine should be arriving in the last week of November.
    Oh, one more thing... My intention is to write notes, then convert and send to my laptop. Can they be saved as a text or Word document to be edited on the laptop?

    • @MyDeepGuide
      @MyDeepGuide  3 роки тому +1

      Conversion can only be done when sending to email. Converted text can't be saved locally.
      When you convert the text, you can use the keyboard to format the converted text and correct the results, so yes, you can use Enter to separate the paragraphs.

      @My Deep Guide, I have the same question - why did the conversion to text change the original layout, bumping a line up to run on from the previous line - what if I wanted to make a list (sans bullets)? Would using a grid template, rather than just lined (notebook), lock the writing / text in place after the conversion?

    I just bought this and I do love it, but I would like to be able to convert something to text without sending. So essentially write notes, convert to text when Im done and save on the notebook replacing the handwritten note that I converted. Is this not a function on the reMarkable? Seems odd that you only have one option and that is to send.

    So...it’s a combination of letter recognition and predictive text if the writing is not too clear? 🤔

    • @MyDeepGuide
      @MyDeepGuide  3 роки тому +2

      It seems like it's a combination of autocorrect and predictive text that is applied after the initial conversion. That would make sense why it requires the device to be online when doing the text conversion.

    I don't know how much this happens, but maybe if you have a lot of Greek letters in your notes, start a new page where you write those down, set the device to Greek language and convert that page separately. But I doubt that's a useful or highly needed workaround.

    As several have mentioned, the ability to convert text and *save* on the device is an important need (and huge miss for Remarkable). Example: being required to email the converted text is a problem in which the content is sensitive/confidential information. Any chance that Remarkable will figure this out?
