"What the f* is that?" "That" is a Chapman stick. :) And yes, John Petrucci is one of the best guitarists (in my opinion the best) out there. Three of the members here, Petrucci, drummer Mike Portnoy and keyboardist Jordan Rudess, all hail from the superband Dream Theater (Portnoy left DT in 2010-2011, I think). At the time of this show, Rudess was not a member of Dream Theater, but joined the fold soon after.

@@SpeedWarrior93 you're absolutely right, I got it mixed up - Rudess was asked to join DT even before then, but refused the first time around. Portnoy then asked him to join the LTE project, which he did in 1997, and he then joined DT in time to record SFAM in 1999. This LTE video was recorded in 2008. Thanks for pointing it out!

This was the first song in almost a two hour set. That is John Petrucci, Guitar Jesus. Also with Jordan Rudess of Dream Theater. Mike Portnoy, formerly of Dream Theater and doing a lot of other projects, and Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel, King Crimson) on the Chapman Stick. These four guys are all virtuosos in what they do
Man, I used to listen to these guys a lot way back! Acid Rain is awesome! :D
As a comment, sorry for my english, just a note, te iPAD was released in 2010 and Jordan has a BIG PALM has partiture note...this is progressive. For Petrucci, it was the pinnacle of technical solo guitar. Advice: It's a Jam. This is why John starts to make push in the GYM, i'am fan of DT since 1994, my standard of kind...like of music changes when a friend gave me the images and words tape. Thanks to everyone, i'm better talkin i swear.

Cymbal catching is technically called "CHOKING" === Bass is a "CHAPMAN STICK" .. LTE & DT are my favorite bands simply because of what you are watching now. Absolute musical geniuses. And can perform what they record in a live setting without hesitation or flaw. Only exception to the favorite band statement is RUSH !!!!!!!!!
