They had one dedicated button for all that on PlayStation for Spyro 2 and Year Of The Dragon as well. It was triangle to look and activate conversions with too. So that’s just par for the course on Spyro design.
Interesting, I've never played the PS1 versions of the original trilogy only the reignited remakes (and even then, it's been a while since I played those) but that would explain why the control setup is the way it is.
Ahhh, EtD. I was a super fan of the original trilogy growing up so I remember buying this on launch for the PS2. Loved it then! Refuse to replay it today to make sure my rose tinted glasses don’t get shattered. If nothing else I’m glad you had a good time with it, and the Reignited Trilogy for that matter. Looking forward to the next video!
there's now a mod for the ps2 version called definitive edition that fixes most of the issues and bugs, making it a more acceptable experience than it was back in 2002
The loading times are truly awful. One time, I got pretty far into the game (at least it was the farthest I ever got) and it got stuck on a loading screen. No joke, I kept the console running for two days and it still didn't load the level. I was forced to restart and i think it corrupt the save data.
When my dad played video games with my sister and I, he had the game freeze on a loading screen too. My dad was attempting to go to the Farm level but the game stayed on the UFO loading screen forever, animations and everything. He dubbed it as the game "hanging up" on him like a phone call. Save data wasn't erased for us though.
I played this game so much as a kid but never felt the drive to finish it. I don't think I ever collected enough dragon flies to open the boss portal. The main overworld theme is forever stuck in my head tho, always looping that banjo
This was my first gamecube and spyro game, i played it to death and it adds to my list of "games i didn't know people hated until i was an adult and got a bit sad" But this game and others i love really say a lot about the kinds of games I like.
Fantastic review. I can't hate Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly as it got me and my sister into the series. Although the PS1 games are of higher quality and stick out in my mind.
The Boss Theme from Ripto sums up pretty good, how development went under their time limits. Sounded like Stewart Copeland slammed his head onto a Piano. But still, Enter The Dragonfly will still always be a part of my childhood, since it's been my first game, after Year of the Dragon.
I mean, honey is ALOT thicker than water. You could be an Olympic swimmer and would still find it impossible to swim through honey, it would be like quicksand, but.. sludgy. And delicious.
This game is so awful that even child me was aware something was off LOL, I always stuck to the PS1 Spyro games for this reason even when I was like 5. Thanks for your coverage of it
When I was a little kid and bought this when it came out, this game felt amazing. I happily beat it 100%. Looking at it now, I feel embarrassed to say that.
that game is truly UNBEATABLE. I managed to play it properly but it was IMPOSSIBLE for me to gain 100% for the last dragonfly from the honey slider refused to acknowledge my win
It does look awful but maybe part of why I never noticed the LOOK being this bad was when I played this the firszt time out TV was already kind of a shitty one soo..... idk
Whoever fault that rushed Spyro Enter the Dragonfly is them, just a few short worlds, annoying bugs and glitches and just one lousy boss fight, WORST SPYRO GAME EVER.
Your comments about the controlls tell me you've never played the orrigional trillogy Spyro. - The upper face button was allways context sensitive. It did iteractions, cammera resets, a kind of doubble-jumps, and a ground-pounds. -You didn't mention that flame and charge were inverted. - Swiming in clasic Spyro allways controlled well.

"What? So I did all that for nothing!?" - Spyro summing up this game perfectly.

Fun fact the current any% speedrun for Enter the Dragonfly is 1 minute 5 seconds.
That's what makes the game even more broken.
9:50 More bee themed levels I can think of were those beehive levels from Donkey Kong Country 2 Diddy's Kong Quest

I loved the video and sound quality, good stuff! Can't wait to watch more!

How is the production value so good in this channel when it has 60 subs. UA-cam is wack.

And then Skylanders happened and there was no Spyro game for TEN YEARS!!!
Listen that series was MY childhood
The beat when you defeated ripto and he was walking in place sounds like a reggaeton beat
I'd still play it over every Spyro that came after. It was a shocking drop in quality after 3
As a kid I didn't really like Spyro, but apparently that might be because this was the only Spyro game I owned....
that game is truly UNBEATABLE. I managed to play it properly but it was IMPOSSIBLE for me to gain 100% for the last dragonfly from the honey slider refused to acknowledge my win
At least this one gets a laugh or two compared to Spyro Orange.
I loved playing it when I was a kid but didn't realize until a lot later how TERRIBLE the game really was, lol
It was my first game on ps2, very surprised how this is the worst one, always loved this game
It does look awful but maybe part of why I never noticed the LOOK being this bad was when I played this the firszt time out TV was already kind of a shitty one soo..... idk
My childhood game.
It was my favorite 😍 I love all the ps1 and gamecube games
Whoever fault that rushed Spyro Enter the Dragonfly is them, just a few short worlds, annoying bugs and glitches and just one lousy boss fight, WORST SPYRO GAME EVER.
This is one of my favorite games 😢

Water isn’t wet, like scientifically. It gets things wet my boi
10:04 botulism. Honey can give you botulism, which is why you shouldnt give it to children under a year old
