I TURNED OFF the resource pack

- I have been playing in my Minecraft survival world for over a year using a resource pack that makes it look similar to the Minecraft trailer graphics. In that time, I haven't once taken it off to see my world with the vanilla graphics. Join me as we see it with the default visuals for the first time together!

Imma sue Minecraft for false advertising. Trailer texture pack is not included in the game, or anywhere for that matter
There is "Bare Bones", a community effort to recreate the trailer textures
@@AndrieMC that wasn't the point of the comment
@@-AmPO bruh, I was just telling them they can use bare bones
Anyway, you're probably not suing Minecraft and even if you did, there's a very high chance you'd lose
@@AndrieMChe did sue minecraft, and he won
Without the pack it's really reminiscent of older building in Minecraft. Looks like the type of building you might have seen 5 years ago, very nostalgic.
2018 builds weren't that far off in looks from smallish builds today
5 years ago was 2018 tho
@@mazda9624 that messes my brain up lmfao 2018 only feels like a couple years back
Maybe 10 years ago, but yeah.
8 or 9 years instead? but okay!
From artist’s perspective, you made the best art possible with the respective medium of choice. You’re a great builder, and it’s obvious you make sick builds in relation to what art medium/texture pack you use.
@enrique amaya Should he be ashamed of his comment if he doesn't follow Jesus? I fail to see the relation in this context
@enrique amaya Not everyone needs to have the same religion as you.
@enriqueamaya3883Everyone knows that, you don't need to say that on a completely unrelated comment.
@enriqueamaya3883 Jesus would not like it if you were to talk down on the unbeliever. For he loves all, but not all must love him. You forget that Christianity is a choice, not an obligation.
He should not be ashamed if he were to live freely under his own rules, for he is simply living the life that God has gifted him. Do thank God for giving life to this beautiful world, for not all are as lucky as we are today.
I prefer the bare bones pack - it makes this series feel very unique in a good way. The people who complain about "real building" are the same types that would say only oil paint is "real painting" and I've seen some brilliant things created with water colors!
With your painting analogy, it's just like how digital painting also looks good, despite being... Digital.

for your world i absolutely love the barebones and shaders, it just works so incredibly well
I use them on my survival world and they work wonders!
Really brings it to life
I REALLY like barebones, the World without the shaders is still beautiful
@@smhV1
I didnt like how it looked without the shaders, but maybe it's just something I'd have to get used to. 😅
what's the name of this shader and resourcepack?
it's not a matter which one is better, the matter is HOW you constructed your world, depending on the textures and presence of shaders u might choose different blocks and composition to make the buildings look better, for example the leaves u said that they look more empty , maybe if u used vanilla textures u might have made the tree leaves thiccer. So neither options are the best just a matter of how you use those textures and personal preference
He said what you PREFER and yet you still use the word "better" what's going on?
@@whannabi ups sorry i meant "better as a preference" in the sense "*for me* is better this because I prefer it", yeah if u look too much into it using the term better was wrong but I didnt mean better as Universally better, just better for mine or yours perspective which is dependent on ones taste
@enriqueamaya3883everytime you say this, I'll be even more atheist
I'm a vanilla guy but dude I LOVE the simple texture pack, it makes everything look so clean. and the overexposed lighting look compliments it well. of course your world will look the best in the medium in which you designed it -saying it has to look good in vanilla is like saying a painting has to look good as a drawing to truly be art
He is no longer schizophrenic
I think you can create a lot more atmosphere with the shader lighting and barebones, so I prefer that look, but the builds still look great without them. Before anyone goes to say your builds only look good with the resource pack+shaders they should take a moment to think that they were designed with those things in mind, the lack of leaf transparency on the tree for example. Love the series! I have been playing with barebones lately.

Based on your reactions to the cobblestone and copper, I definitely prefer you keep the resource pack enabled for this world. As much as I love the vanilla textures, I think builds generally look best with the pack they were first made with. Besides, the pack is probably the most iconic feature

I feel ya, I have been using Mizuno since like 1.16 , and going vanilla is very intense. After spending so much time creating an atmosphere it can be overwhelming, ultimately, it is what YOU did with the pack that brought your world to life and its stunning either way!
everyone has a preference as if painting with different color types (acrylic-oil) all looks gd and all need skill that u have so keep it up
to me what made this series special is the simplicity of the trailer look so keep it up
I loved seeing how different the perspective of your world looked with and without the textures. Hearing how blown away by dirt you were was hilarious to me. It's like watching a little kid get excited about discovering a diamond for the first time 😂
You should build something that looks good in the default texture pack and then turn on the barebones resource pack
Everithing in bare bones looks better.
Mm for science!
@enriqueamaya3883I agree with this guy
@enrique amaya But I'm already not ashamed though
This was a great video. I loved the whole vanilla showcase of the world, but also seeing everything you’ve built through the months was amazing!
This isnt the original creator i think
this is the first of your videos i’ve ever seen but it’s fun seeing someone experience the default textures and really *appreciating* them
I think barebones texture pack and shader are very cool, the game has a more minimal look
But seeing the vanilla textures is also really interesting, in general I prefer the texture pack but I think for the look of the tree, vanilla textures are more appropriated.
So the difference was good to see ;)
For the let's play, bare bones textures look amazing and I think you should stay with the pack.

i adore all your builds in the barebones texture pack, it definitely is cool to see how your building is better suited for the texture since you obviously built it like that! Nice :)
I have literally never seen your channel before but the resource pack looks amazing! I really like the cartoonish style of it.
My first time watching you. I love your world. It looks great in vanilla, and with the shaders on. I personally am not a fan of barebones on its own, but its still quite nice , and it was fun to hear how you reacted after so long with the resource pack on.
Really fun seeing this world with vanilla pack after following it in barebones for a year
your shaderpack reminds me of this xbox game called "Lego Worlds" and trust me i used to play that game for hours for about 2 years and thank you i feel very nostalgic now
I started watching you when you made the first video using this shader pack its the reason i kept watching as well as your personality and attitude for your videos so wether it looks good or not im satisfied that you put the effort out to make these for our satisfaction
this was fascinating! i'm not a particularly great builder but i am still a bit of a 1.14+ jappa's vanilla textures purist, but i cannot deny that your world looks stunning with the shaders and resource pack - however it honestly still looks fantastic even with both of them off, i'm having a very hard time picking which looks better - ultimately i think both ways look great and that you're an awesome builder :)
It looks very different from what I expected, I love the vanilla vibes but the shaders and texture pack add that cartoonish look that I adore
Who hell thinks your buildings only look good with the resource pack? You are no kidding one of the best builders I've seen in the game 💀
me
I think you're completely correct, to each their own I love the resource pack you've put together and honestly having seen it I'm probably going to make my world as close to it as I can. (Now I'm just praying it works with the create mod.)
I relate to that reaction haha. Everything does look crunchy!
Also, I find myself falling into that pattern of "but does it look good in vanilla?" when i'm building with barebones, however i switch texture packs fairly often so yh. Anyway, I think as long as you're having fun and creating beautiful things, it doesn't matter whether it looks as good in vanilla!
This series reminds me of the old classic Minecraft playthroughs, no crazy mods or automized farms, just how most casual people play the game, but modernized so it's not super long and boring I like it, I get nostalgic watching it.
i personally think that resource packs and any mods are just a preference. For example if you build in creative with world edit it doesnt mean you are not a good builder and the other way round its just a preference.
btw awesome video :)
Wow that's a crazy difference and beautiful in both, awesome world!
I'm used to the simple texture pack and it's easy on my eyes, it also makes your videos unique and distinct, si it'd be really cool if you continued with the texture pack!
The entire point of resource packs is to build with different looking styles (including some that arent in normal minecraft like steampunk or alien) so clearly in order to make a steampunk area using a resource pack would be a ton easier and unique as well. I think builds that utilize resource packs heavily are utilizing the tools for their exact purpose
I love the white wool and diorite combo.
There’s something incredibly wholesome about this, like it just feels like you’re genuinely having fun making it
i love ur reactions to the vanilla textures, i love this video
i think id prefer the vanilla, helps to know what you are holding and seeing
for this world, the bare bones resourcepack is sooo much better! that’s a sign of amazing building skills, if the way you used the different blocks are so in tune with the resourcepack!!
It’s funny how you lean into the style of the pack when you build?

coming from yt home, annd this is my first time seeing your world. I gotta say, it looks cool!
,
three looks super organic with that bit of transparency. and yeah, the colour of the textures blended better with your house, probably because its less saturated in barebones. Keep barebones on, It's really pleasant and comfortable.
Your custom tree looks awesome!!! Can you do a tutorial on how you made it?
without the resource pack and shaders it looks really different! but i think its quite obvious at least as a builder that your builds dont only look good bc of the shaders, they look very dynamic and detailed with attention to build palette :))

I LOVED THIS VIDEO. I’m a vanilla enthusiast, so i really enjoyed this
The shaders help a lot to create a nice comfy atmosphere! I personally loved your buildings and the texture too! Of course it changes a lot and that is the point, and all together looks very lovely.
I use a similar texture; it's more in a cartoon vibe, without shaders (i would probably just teleport if i use shaders). The texture changes the way you look at the game - literally - and gives us more things to look for, and I just love how people are creating more and more simple things to this game.
Thank you for the video!! s2
very simply, i think that every pack has a a style to it and a good build fits well with the pack, a build made with vanilla textures should look good in vanilla textures and a build made with a texture pack should look good with that texture pack. looking at builds with diff textures than what was used when the build was made is under just exploring what this would look like under a different condition :D
You are a great builder, resource packs or not. My personal preference is RTX or really good shaders on vanilla textures. But your barebones series is beautiful. The more I watch it the more I want to give it a go in one of my worlds!
I've used Bare Bones for like, all the years I've played Minecraft both Bedrock and Java, and I've never played with it off.
Good video 👍
I think the main difference is that the resource pack you use makes everything look much more cartoony, as opposed to the slightly grittier and more realistic vibe of standard MC. I don’t feel as if one is "better" than the other, it just depends on what look you want at the time. I think I generally prefer the textures you use, because I'm a sucker for the cartoony look. But just so you know, the things you make there look good in both styles. We got your back, my man
Without the pack still looks great but I really love how the resource pack makes everything look!
I really love your builds and I think they look great with the mod packs or without. That said, I prefer these builds with the resource pack+shaders but I think it's just because these builds were created specifically for them. It would be interesting to see you build something in vanilla and then turn on the trailer!mod when it's done. It might not translate very well, so that would mean there's a different skill set for building in this resource pack versus building in vanilla. (Side note: I know you're not going to say it because you're obviously a really nice guy, so I'm gonna say it. Whoever's giving you crap about your builds only looking good because of the shaders is a jerk/are jerks. Don't let them get you down man, you're awesome.)
The house looks better with the resource pack on, but the massive stone arch bridge and the giant custom tree took on a whole different life with default textures. Really great builds all around!
I think it looks pretty awesome both ways! I'm a Minecrafter that has never used a texture pack for the 10 years I've been playing it. But I really like how original it looks with the texture pack just because I'm not use to it! :)
in my opinion your world just fit with barebones and shaders is absolutely incredible
I think that your world looks great either way. As a bedrock player, I don't get to have any awesome shaders, so I'm sort of jealous because shaders can make any build (even my crapy ones) look good.
it's not that it makes any build in particular look good. It just makes the game look good in general. Vanilla lighting is super flat and we're probably overdue for a lighting engine update.
@@_-_o-o_-_ you're right. I'd love a lighting update.
this looks so cozy and cute with the shaders as well
We might have watched hours of you building this world, but u spent daaaaays building it. Ofcourse its going to mind blowing i dont blame you man. U spent a year on this server? Yea a texture pack will def make a crazy change

That's the beautiful thing about minecraft, anyone can play the game the way they like. You enjoy playing with mods? Do that! You only like the game to look a specific way? Go right ahead! You don't enjoy survival but love building? Creative is just for you!
So many different ways to enjoy this game it's amazing. And I think your world looks awesome with/without the texture pack. I personally prefer it with it on but I think I just like the texture pack in general. Keep up the great stuff!
I LOVE THE TRAILERS TEXTURES AND LIGHTING THIS IS COOL ASFFF.
you should add the far horizons mod to that word, it would suit the barebones look quite well! (if you want to)
The resource pack I use adds more pixels to everything so the rest of the game matches the banners. This means that my decorative shield looks exactly like it's banner counter part. Because I've gotten so used to the detail, I'm almost shocked by how "blurry" vanilla looks by comparison.
I use a standalone texture pack that's only feature is making banner shields match 1 to 1 to matching banner; the name of the pack misses my mind at the moment but it shouldn't be a hard Google to those who are interested in it.
I genuinely adore the way it looks with Vanilla. It's full of beautiful choices that you would pass up if you were working with Vanilla from the get go.
7:47 Seeing that sign in the blacksmith’s place on Minecraft dungeons made me think, what if banner patterns could be added to hanging signs? It would be so awesome to see the mojang logo on a sign in Minecraft!
i think bare bones textures lot more better than default Minecraft texture :)
*Me when the LSD wears off*
As a pixel artist (and rookie 3d modeller) this kinda helps me with how to handle textures, the copper bricks for the roof really do make a huge difference once the texture pack is off! And the interior of your house looks much more rough with the vanilla textures.
the reveal reminds me of the good ol day of yogscasts minecraft series where they would have a lot of role play survival episodes and slowly add new mods as times goes on. simpler times and i missed those times

My thoughts on resource packs? Love em, they are basically what keep me interested in the game
As someone who actively makes resource packs that are mainly small tweaks, i love em
Im not a huge fan of anything beyond 16x16 but i can see its appeal
I think one of the great things about Minecraft are the variety of texture packs you can apply to your game. I think for your world the way you designed it it looks really good with the texture packs applied. I think that's what makes your world unique is the lens through which you view it.
My favourite thing is to build a couple of different types of builds close to each other and swap texture pack and just admire the chos of it all because of how different blocks can be texture swapped in different packs
I prefer the Barebones look. The atmosphere is so much cozier. Also, what sound enhancements are you using? I love the echoing effect.

6:30 woah that stone bridge is pretty cool id say it rocks
I love the look of the bareless textures and the shaders you had on, I think Minecraft could really use a graphics overhaul. I'd run shaders all day long but somehow my 3070 and 8600k even overclocked can't handle shaders because Minecraft already runs so bad. I remember getting 1000 fps in some of the older versions of Minecraft on my older hardware.
4:56 saved you alot of time.
Honestly, I like both. I think it comes down to the world being created with the barebones texture pack in mind, which is why some parts of the builds look so different without it. But it’s not bad. I don’t really understand the comments saying that the world only looks good because of the texture pack. I don’t think that’s true. You’re an amazing builder, it doesn’t matter if you use mods or stick with the basics, what you create is always impressive and leaves me with new ideas and inspiration.
You talking about the slight color difference in the copper roof and how you wouldn't have used it reminds me of the time I drew an entire art piece with my windows nightlight on. I had no clue until I uploaded it and saw the version on my phone was *significantly* more blue!

I like the resource pack and shaders. If you want a small addition, you can add that one mod that gives entities the trailer-like animations and the barebones patch/resource pack.
He has that mod and more for his series. You are taking about fresh animations which is shown at the beginning of the video in the episode 1 replay
2:30 for some the textures with shaders off nostalgic, reminds of the plastic texture pack i think a few (6-7 years maybe) years back in some older minecraft videos.
this is such a happy video. texture packs are excellent and there's nothing wrong with using them, i think the only thing it matters for is multiplayer. i'd never play with this pack on a realm because i'd know it would look different (and likely worse) for my friends, and i would feel bad doing that lol
