Great video. Just got mine today and it's pretty dirty as well. There's a thin layer of grease covering the entire weapon. What can I use to remove the grease on the wood furniture without harming the wood?

AKs and MILSPEC weapons will usually be stored in cosmolene (packing grease). I've found AKs especially packed heavy with cosmolene! Always breakdown, clean and function check any new weapon!
I bought this same Riley from a friend for $500, but I sold it back. It was very light and a fairly soft recoil as positives, but there was a few negatives. The side mount doesn't work because it has a rivet right in the center not allowing a side rail to lock on. You would have to grind it off and I don't know if that would ruin the side mount integrity. Also, just behind the front hand guard is a square piece of metal that protrudes out and you can cut yourself on it easily. Again, another grinder job. I wasn't able to correct the windage on the front sight post because it simply wouldn't budge no matter how hard I cranked on it even after putting lube on it and letting it soak in. I liked the look of the wood and it was fairly accurate though. Comparing it to my wasr and multiple Zastavas it just doesn't hold a candle to it in terms of feeling solid and quality. I would maybe get another, but they need to fix some stuff on them. I did hear if your serial number starts with the letter B it has better quality parts and not cast like before which mine had. Also my cleaning rod seemed to be welded on and I couldn't remove it.
My riley did not Work out of the box. thankfully Riley Defense has outstanding customer service and fixed my issue. Once I got it back, in ran well for about 500 rounds then then extractor sorta gave out. Once again Riley sent me a new extractor no questions asked. Till this day my Riley has been butter smooth. Cool video, man.
My RAK-47-P-SF came with one waffle promag like that one. I had about 10 rounds in it and I dropped it on carpet and broke the feed lip off one side. I share your hatred for promag garbage.
Never tried the Pro Mag that came with it, my rifle did have cycling issues at first. I reached out to Riley and their response was quick and to the point, no fight on their end, they simply wanted to help out. I took it out to the flat range and ran a few more mags through it on camera, BAM, issues gone. I'm guessing it was a break in period? Point being, I dig my RAS.
I had the same issue. Fresh out of the box, it didn't want to cycle properly. It would chamber and fire the first round. Chamber the second, but it would not be cocked to fire the second round. I'd rack the bolt and it would do the same thing. Rack the bolt and repeat. I thought maybe it didn't like the global ordinance lacquered steel ammo. Fired some wolf through there with no issue. And after a few magazines the kinks got worked out and I've had no issues ever since. I have also never used the pro mag it came with. I bought a bunch of Korean metal magazines that work well and are only $10.
I have one and love it. My only problem with it has been cycling issues when shooting shitty, discount ammo through it. As long as you run proper ammo like Wolf or Norma you'll never have a problem.
some of these i have seen with red wood stocks and others with the lighter wood like yours. is there a model that has the red laminate vs the lighter colored wood?? This is my next rifle to get very nice!!

There's nothing wrong with Riley defense akms 762 actually was my first and I beat the shit out of it nice soft shooter way better than century viska those wear out after 500 rounds only thing I don't like about the Riley is the woods really cheap color fades right off best to just throw either surplus wood or just go polymer Magpul or something like that other than the cheap flimsy wood the gun itself is great but in my opinion I think it's just better to save up the extra 300 bucks and get a m70 but I know how it is gotta get what you can afford

Besides the steel Mag that came with my AK47, all my Magazines are US PALM STAINLESS STEEL LATCH CAGE, FDE, their a tight fit, I smack them in and out 2-3 times. They work perfectly in my ZPAP M-70 Walnut Furniture. I like the FDE look, but that's my choice. If anyone is unsure how to dissamble them, I use a Irwin quik grip with yellow rubber jaws, be careful, there under spring pressure, advise eye protection, and after your 1st dissambly you'll be a pro at it. I used a dremell on the right side, and exposed the tips of the bullets, by removing 3 vertical sections, their sick looking, man, sick. Masonry Plus Florida
