Hey Joe, at 5:48 you‘re saying that if you would have set the output level to 0 it would have had clipped? But the output is -0.1 which is still below 0. Why would it have clipped then if it is still below it?
Ridiculous question, but would you put a limiter on top of an adaptive limiter (or Vice versa)? The reason why I asked is because you mentioned that an adaptive limiter puts more “color” to your master. What if I wanted to do that with the Adaptive Limiter, but wanted to use the Limiter to still prevent overall sudden peaks?
It's common practice to put 2 limiters behind one another on a mastering chain. Ideally you'd place the adaptive limiter before the brick-wall limiter; this way you'd be adding the color yet still making sure that no peaks are sneaking through in the end.
