I just saw her two days ago for the first time and was blown away, not only by her incredible talent, but her obvious intelligence, poise and wit. She's truly a wonder.
I mean what can I say? her voice is unbelievably beautiful, this song and its parent album are highlights of the decade so far, she looks gorgeous, she’s serving concept and grace… we simply have no choice but to stan
haha you SAID that! So very true. I agree with every word. An angel..phenomonal. If someone just heard this track you'd belive she's an old school Laurel Canyon, hippy cult devotee but she's not at all. This track seems to be her answer to the complex problems she raises in most her other tracks. Her ideal and the Adam Curtis vid accoompaniment brings another level of oddness to it all. Lynchian you could say. I's follow her if she started a cult 😆
Every freaking time Colbert presents a music act and I go, Who? And every freaking time, I'm floored or spellbound or dumbfounded or amazed or stunned or ALL of the afore mentioned! I have said it before and I will say it again, whoever does the musical act bookings...NOT paid enough!! Once again...WOW!!!!
Check out KEXP! At least half of the artists he books have performed there a few years prior to making it into his show. They often get picked up for Colbert an album or three after a KEXP session.
She was very nervous at her performance on Seth Meyers a couple of years ago, so it’s extra nice to see her soooo confident and calm in front of a TV audience. Perfect performance 😍
weyes blood is one of the best and most unique artists of this century, i’ve been a fan since 2019 and i’m so excited that they are getting more attention now :))))
Devastating. What a beautiful song, beautiful person and beautiful soul. This hurts me in the best way possible every time I hear it. Love and mercy to all ❤
When I first listened to this song last year when the album dropped, I literally was in shock. I’ve never heard anything like this song and the instrumentals before. Natalie is amazing and this song deserved to shine here.
The exact same feeling I got when hearing Andromeda for the first time during COVID! Like hearing music that was made purely to set your senses on fire in awe 🔥🔥
This might be TMI but I was really fucking high on the toilet when this song dropped, and I listened to it. I was sitting on the toilet for 10 minutes thinking about the space time continuum while sobbing my eyes out while listening to this song, quite an experience lol.
the most impressive part of this song for me is the simplicity behind it's lead verse vs. the complexity of its overall concept and feeling; i just felt so seen
I saw Natalie in concert last month and it was the first time I’ve ever cried at a show. Everything about her and the venue was so perfect and ethereal. I stood there with my mouth wide open as I was sobbing I wish I could relive it
Listen to her albums "And In The Darkness, Hearts Aglow" and "Titanic Rising" if you haven't already - her music is everything in between ethereal and sublime (e.g., "God Turn Me Into a Flower"), dramatic and powerful (e.g., "Movies"), and retro and blissful/fun (e.g., "Everyday")!
I got to meet Natalie after her Portland show in 2019 and did a terrible job of expressing how profoundly affected I have been by her music, probably because of the fact that I was still in tears. She was graceful, kind, and poised - a true vision and talent who is absolutely deserving of this latest momentum. I've listened to her since 2016 - through so much, her art has been my conduit for pain and grief, hope and healing. Natalie, you are a true angel on this earth!!
God I love her. Her music is so powerful, every time I listen to her songs I end up crying. She’s a beautiful artist too. Her style, the way she sings, her lyrics, just everything is perfect
Why and How does this only have 105K views? It should have 10 million !!!! Is it only me realizing Weyes Blood's true brilliance? I attended back to back shows for the Holy Flux Tour in Brooklyn Steel NY. What a venue! What a night! Magic is the only word I can think of to explain the experience. I love her.
This is right up there with Cellophane on Jimmy Fallon for best live performance I've seen on a talk show. Stunning. Not that im even remotely surprised though. I saw her live before and she is one of the few artists out rhere who somehow sounds even better live than in the studio.
She sounds (and looks) fantastic - didn't love the album but I love this song it is just so beautiful. Played it for my dog just before she died and told her she would turn into a flower because she was very tired and poorly RIP Lola 🌺🙂❤️
I just wanna crawl into a small space, play this song as loud as I can, and then cry for a little bit. By now, I feel like listening to this song is more of a kinesthetic experience.
Natalie Mering has been killing it since 2019. The ways I describe Weyes Blood to people: She's folk, country, and dark pop. But not Lana Del Rey dark pop. More like a less optimistic Kate Bush. She sounds retro. Comparisons to Karen Carpenter are common. But she also sounds like the future. Imagine Carole King songs, but with a looming sense of imminent doom. Can be relationship doom. Can be climate catastrophe doom. She's a massive Enya fan and defender. Enya is her musical mom.
Weyes Blood has been killing it since 2007 !!!! I love her early experimental/noise work and everything leading up to now. I think it all deserves lots of appreciation.
that is in fact where the name came from. she only changed the spelling so it would not get confused with another band that called themselves Wise Blood
20 years of composing music to excel on writing and interpreting this song, thinking each lyrics to deliver a message, and there are still people who see "a meditation song "... 2020's really sucks but hopefully there is Weyes Blood ! 😊🙏🌌
Went to her concert in Wellington last night. Utterly blown away by her talent. The live version of this song was just extraordinary - even better than anything recorded.
Saw her live in Brooklyn at the Brooklyn Steel. It was one of the most amazing concerts I have ever been to! Her vocals are something you have to witness in person. Such a talented human!
i saw her live a few weeks ago, it was one of the best nights ever. her voice is incredible and she radiates such a graceful and angelic energy from the second she’s onstage. and of course, the music is beautiful 💕
Not the song I was expecting her to perform for a late night booking but omg she killed it. So happy more people will be introduced to her through this.
awwwwwwwwww man I was disappointed she didn't go off on them into full drone mode. When she played this song live in austin i was put into a trance it was hypnotic
So many people complain about modern music, there's amazing music out there, you just have to dig a bit deeper these days.
It’s probably easier now than ever to find it. People are just lazy
music is the best ever for me..whatever you like...ppl do it
A correct statement!
She is an angel... since I saw her a few months ago I was shocked with so much talent.
Saw her live this year. One of the best artists to see live. Hands down. Beautiful discography.
Yeah, I saw her two weeks ago and I’m still riding the wave.
I just saw her two days ago for the first time and was blown away, not only by her incredible talent, but her obvious intelligence, poise and wit. She's truly a wonder.
My girlfriend and I saw her a few weeks ago in Toronto too and our hearts were glowing long after it was over
I’m finally seeing her tonight. Had tickets to see her before covid started but got cancelled. I can’t wait to hear her angelic voice in person ❤
all of you have now convinced me to go see her live :)
Her cheeky elbow flex at the end- she knows she killed it.
Yesssss!
WOW, that's the exact same thing I said to my girlfriend as we watched this!
It’s just a silly pose after he said her name. I didn’t interpret it that way
@@evedotcom Natalie can be silly at times and also very confident, that's why we love her.
QUEEN SHIT
imagine living in a world where an artist this talented isn't a household name
First I've heard of her but it won't be the last.
my question exactly-
that's why the world is suck

This and nathaniel Ratleff and the night sweats last year!
Natalie is so brilliant. What an artist. I'm speechless and in tears.

I don’t think Natalie gets nervous

HER VOICE IS INSANE
That shot from behind her looking at the crowd is epic
3:11 for those looking. Completely epic!
What a beautiful woman. I saw her live and she sounded flawless.
first time listening to her...goosebumps. why didn't i find her sooner???
if i saw this live i think i would actually pass away

More ethereal zones on late night television please
She has lots of poppier stuff, this was a bold move and she nailed it.
Reminds me of Laura Nyro. Truly magical and touching. Natalie is a gift in these strange times.
This song is so delicately beautiful. Truly sublime.
Never heard of them before, but wow, what a great voice!
It’s not just me, it’s everybody
And Titanic Rising album is immense.
Super super talented
Titanic Rising might be my favorite album of the 2010's. She's amazing!
Same here... And it was by accident... Saw the end of colbert waiting for james cordon's show... A happy accident😊
is this the greatest late night performance of all time lmfao this is so good

That's the song that brought me to her and I'm ever grateful to that song ❤❤❤
I’m glad she went with a bolder song selection from the album for a national tv show
