So many people complain about modern music, there's amazing music out there, you just have to dig a bit deeper these days.
It’s probably easier now than ever to find it. People are just lazy
music is the best ever for me..whatever you like...ppl do it
Her voice sounds like a cross between Karen Carpenter and Enya. Very pretty sound.
Look at Natalie go :,)
Saw her live this year. One of the best artists to see live. Hands down. Beautiful discography.
Yeah, I saw her two weeks ago and I’m still riding the wave.
I just saw her two days ago for the first time and was blown away, not only by her incredible talent, but her obvious intelligence, poise and wit. She's truly a wonder.
My girlfriend and I saw her a few weeks ago in Toronto too and our hearts were glowing long after it was over
I’m finally seeing her tonight. Had tickets to see her before covid started but got cancelled. I can’t wait to hear her angelic voice in person ❤
all of you have now convinced me to go see her live :)
imagine living in a world where an artist this talented isn't a household name
First I've heard of her but it won't be the last.
my question exactly-
that's why the world is suck
I mean what can I say? her voice is unbelievably beautiful, this song and its parent album are highlights of the decade so far, she looks gorgeous, she’s serving concept and grace… we simply have no choice but to stan
You said it all.
haha you SAID that! So very true. I agree with every word. An angel..phenomonal. If someone just heard this track you'd belive she's an old school Laurel Canyon, hippy cult devotee but she's not at all. This track seems to be her answer to the complex problems she raises in most her other tracks. Her ideal and the Adam Curtis vid accoompaniment brings another level of oddness to it all. Lynchian you could say. I's follow her if she started a cult 😆
@@deuce1611she already did start a cult and we are in it .
Stan! stan! stan! We have no choice!
She was very nervous at her performance on Seth Meyers a couple of years ago, so it’s extra nice to see her soooo confident and calm in front of a TV audience. Perfect performance 😍
I don’t think Natalie gets nervous
@@willowufgood261 Search ‘Seth Meyers Weyes Blood’ and see how wrong you are lol
@@jimmahgee 👍
I shall delete mine now 🙂
Her cheeky elbow flex at the end- she knows she killed it.
Yesssss!
WOW, that's the exact same thing I said to my girlfriend as we watched this!
It’s just a silly pose after he said her name. I didn’t interpret it that way
@@evedotcom Natalie can be silly at times and also very confident, that's why we love her.
QUEEN SHIT
More ethereal zones on late night television please
She has lots of poppier stuff, this was a bold move and she nailed it.
Every freaking time Colbert presents a music act and I go, Who? And every freaking time, I'm floored or spellbound or dumbfounded or amazed or stunned or ALL of the afore mentioned! I have said it before and I will say it again, whoever does the musical act bookings...NOT paid enough!! Once again...WOW!!!!
Check out KEXP! At least half of the artists he books have performed there a few years prior to making it into his show. They often get picked up for Colbert an album or three after a KEXP session.
This and nathaniel Ratleff and the night sweats last year!
When I first listened to this song last year when the album dropped, I literally was in shock. I’ve never heard anything like this song and the instrumentals before. Natalie is amazing and this song deserved to shine here.
yes its perfect
The exact same feeling I got when hearing Andromeda for the first time during COVID! Like hearing music that was made purely to set your senses on fire in awe 🔥🔥
This might be TMI but I was really fucking high on the toilet when this song dropped, and I listened to it. I was sitting on the toilet for 10 minutes thinking about the space time continuum while sobbing my eyes out while listening to this song, quite an experience lol.
the most impressive part of this song for me is the simplicity behind it's lead verse vs. the complexity of its overall concept and feeling; i just felt so seen
This got pulled down from youtube a couple weeks after this performance and i was so angry... This is the most beautiful performance ever
oui ! enfin de retour
Goddamn she’s so fucking gorgeous.
weyes blood is one of the best and most unique artists of this century, i’ve been a fan since 2019 and i’m so excited that they are getting more attention now :))))
Yesss so proud of her ❤
Devastating. What a beautiful song, beautiful person and beautiful soul.
This hurts me in the best way possible every time I hear it.
Love and mercy to all ❤
I saw Natalie in concert last month and it was the first time I’ve ever cried at a show. Everything about her and the venue was so perfect and ethereal. I stood there with my mouth wide open as I was sobbing I wish I could relive it
I cried too and went to her next show the following day lol
That shot from behind her looking at the crowd is epic
3:11 for those looking. Completely epic!
Never heard of them before, but wow, what a great voice!
It’s not just me, it’s everybody
And Titanic Rising album is immense.
Super super talented
Titanic Rising might be my favorite album of the 2010's. She's amazing!
Same here... And it was by accident... Saw the end of colbert waiting for james cordon's show... A happy accident😊
Natalie Mering has been killing it since 2019.
The ways I describe Weyes Blood to people:
She's folk, country, and dark pop. But not Lana Del Rey dark pop. More like a less optimistic Kate Bush.
She sounds retro. Comparisons to Karen Carpenter are common. But she also sounds like the future.
Imagine Carole King songs, but with a looming sense of imminent doom. Can be relationship doom. Can be climate catastrophe doom.
She's a massive Enya fan and defender. Enya is her musical mom.
perfectly said
Weyes Blood has been killing it since 2007 !!!! I love her early experimental/noise work and everything leading up to now. I think it all deserves lots of appreciation.
I describe her voice/sound to people as Linda Rondstat meets Karen Carpenter meets Roy Orbison.
I discovered her in 2016 and she was killing it then
I didn't see or hear anything dark in this performance whatn u talkin about
i have been following Natalie for years!! so proud of her!!? she is the absolute greatest musician of the last 20 years, i am so proud of her!!
The last 20 yrs???? No way
@@wombsore143 possibly i think the might be
@@wombsore143 She's been making music since 2003
I think that's a little OTT but she is very, very good. Apart from Apple, the leading female composer in the US.
@@davidbentley4032 Natalie herself knows well that the most beautiful melodies of the last 20 years belong to a certain Mr. Rosenberg
HER VOICE IS INSANE
Listen to her albums "And In The Darkness, Hearts Aglow" and "Titanic Rising" if you haven't already - her music is everything in between ethereal and sublime (e.g., "God Turn Me Into a Flower"), dramatic and powerful (e.g., "Movies"), and retro and blissful/fun (e.g., "Everyday")!
Not forgetting the Amazing Andromeda.
That's the song that brought me to her and I'm ever grateful to that song ❤❤❤
God I love her. Her music is so powerful, every time I listen to her songs I end up crying. She’s a beautiful artist too. Her style, the way she sings, her lyrics, just everything is perfect
Saw her live at the Gothic Theater in Denver back on the 17th! She's magical and true.
yesss i did too! she brought the damn house down 🥹💗
Still sad I missed that night.
I don't agree with the make up artist for this scene, but I agree with anyone who says that Weyes Blood is the artist of the decade
yeah the hair and makeup team did her dirty she still looks beautiful of course but not like herself
first time listening to her...goosebumps. why didn't i find her sooner???
Natalie is amazing. So happy to see her continue to get recognized.
I got to meet Natalie after her Portland show in 2019 and did a terrible job of expressing how profoundly affected I have been by her music, probably because of the fact that I was still in tears. She was graceful, kind, and poised - a true vision and talent who is absolutely deserving of this latest momentum.
I've listened to her since 2016 - through so much, her art has been my conduit for pain and grief, hope and healing.
Natalie, you are a true angel on this earth!!
This is right up there with Cellophane on Jimmy Fallon for best live performance I've seen on a talk show. Stunning. Not that im even remotely surprised though. I saw her live before and she is one of the few artists out rhere who somehow sounds even better live than in the studio.
Natalie is so brilliant. What an artist. I'm speechless and in tears.
This is what the world needs right now. So beautiful!
I saw her live in Berlin, it was stunning. She sounded on every Song just like on the Studioversion and the atmosphere turned into another dimension
Weyes blood is my religion now
I just wanna crawl into a small space, play this song as loud as I can, and then cry for a little bit. By now, I feel like listening to this song is more of a kinesthetic experience.
She’s freaking amazing omg
i love her so bad
Is this the barista from ‘Welcome To My Island’?
lol yes actually
Omg, I was wondering. That's hilarious.
One of my favorite modern bands and I'm that grumpy person who dislike new music. Lol.
Weyes Blood is not a band
My top song of 2022.
I’ve never heard her live before, goodness gracious, she sounds exactly like the studio version.
A phenomenal talent. I already consider her a legend in her young career.
This would've been great in an Episode of Twin Peaks
Beautiful performance. Would have loved to see Children of the Empire on a stage like this though
That would have been awesome. Especially with the message being presented on live tv.
This world needs that Children of the Empire be a single!
I reeeeeaaaally hope KEXP has her on again cause I just know Children of the Empire would slay in that setting
I saw them in Phoenix just a few days ago!! Best show I’ve been to in awhile!
Same!
Same x2!
Weyes Blood is goat
I have always thought she was the closest to the perfection that was Karen Carpenter's voice.
I don't know her other songs at all but I think this sounds more like This Mortal Coil or Enya.
@@rockugotcha Weyes Blood is an interesting person with a wonderful serve of humor. She also reminds me a bit of Lorna Mckennit
I met her a day after this concert, she was sooo incredibly sweet and had such a good energy. Truly a beautiful person inside and out.
I’m glad she went with a bolder song selection from the album for a national tv show
YEAH BABY LET'S GLOW!!! this record is actively saving my life
is this the greatest late night performance of all time lmfao this is so good
literally i cried all the song
this song is actually a mantra to me
I'm a huge Flannery O'Connor fan, so her name "Weyes Blood" got my attention. Now I'm intrigued. Wonderful sound. I'll be listening to more of her.
that is in fact where the name came from. she only changed the spelling so it would not get confused with another band that called themselves Wise Blood
Omg, amazing performance. I'm sobbing.
That was INCREDIBLE singing
it's one of those live tv performances you know they'll be watched for decades to come... guaranteed.
oh my god!!!! this live version is amazing!!!
This is unbelievably gorgeous music. She floors me every time
Oh my goodness.!!!! Ethereal voice. What a natural.
I LOVE Weyes Blood! So happy that she got to perform here. Can’t wait to see her on Saturday! 💗✨
What a beautiful woman. I saw her live and she sounded flawless.
She sounds (and looks) fantastic - didn't love the album but I love this song it is just so beautiful. Played it for my dog just before she died and told her she would turn into a flower because she was very tired and poorly RIP Lola 🌺🙂❤️
Once in a blue moon, a song comes a long a rocks your world........
And in the darkness, her heart aglow
de las presentaciones más hermosas que veras en tv en mucho tiempo
Why and How does this only have 105K views? It should have 10 million !!!! Is it only me realizing Weyes Blood's true brilliance? I attended back to back shows for the Holy Flux Tour in Brooklyn Steel NY. What a venue! What a night! Magic is the only word I can think of to explain the experience. I love her.
Play this at my funeral, bro.
Superior slay, Ms. Blood
saw her 4 days ago and her performance of this song actually was so amazing she’s so ethereal
She's mother Mary
if i saw this live i think i would actually pass away
there's something Twin Peaks about this... Beautiful.
Swear I get teary eyed everytime I hear that final melody
Stephen Colbert i seen Weyes Blood on well past has something like Said WE YES from a Restaurant different type of petal in female form as a flower.
Her dress with the red heart referencing the virgin is stunning
this is greaetest tv performance i have seen in my entire life
Yes it was on tv
oh my GOD! brilliant
This is what angels sounds like
Saw her live in 2019. Movies live was fucking beautiful. So is this too!
angelic! like a baby Enya
Magical. I want this song to be played at my funeral along with Brian Eno.
I'll tell my kids this is Enya
So much better live than Lana
Not the song I was expecting her to perform for a late night booking but omg she killed it. So happy more people will be introduced to her through this.
this is my favorite from her, its so beautiful
i’d even go so far as to say this was a pretty ballsy pick. not exactly one of her chart-friendlier songs but she absolutely killed it anyways
I mean what can be said? A young legend
Absolutely beautiful! Angelic voice! Glad she was on.
karen carpenter vibes
20 years of composing music to excel on writing and interpreting this song, thinking each lyrics to deliver a message, and there are still people who see "a meditation song "... 2020's really sucks but hopefully there is Weyes Blood ! 😊🙏🌌
And yet, the world wants to give more attention to Taylor Swift.
Brilliant. The quality of that voice!
got that ET heart
Stephen said Weyes Blood. Not much for the late show acts, not sure how she got the spot as she's nowhere near mainstream, but I'm ticked to death seeing him standing there along side her.
The best. So glad to be in this lifetime w this band.
Saw her live a couple months back, excellent show.
Saw her live in Brooklyn at the Brooklyn Steel. It was one of the most amazing concerts I have ever been to! Her vocals are something you have to witness in person. Such a talented human!
she's beyond amazing live...
Love this song ❤ Greetings from Indonesia 🇮🇩
So proud of you Natalie! This performance made me cry. So beautiful.
Saw her live in Los Angeles last December and she was phenomenal.
This song is so delicately beautiful. Truly sublime.
Is she wearing margiela tabis????
